New patch incoming
so long aswe dont get nerfed ill be happy. would be nice if they could buff staff auto attack movement speed. and of course the condi duration on runes.
I see bug fixes and not much else, unfortunately. Cautiously pessimistic.
Edit: On second thought I’m looking forward to ‘boon hate’ abilities being added to Warrior/Thief/other popular classes rather than buffing the Necromancer’s to help cement their role in the game.

I also think about spectral armor, and considering such high cooldown some buff, maybe stability for a few seconds,
Hoping for healing power to affect the life siphon trait line. Besides that maybe acces to burning or confusion? Ah guess that’ll never happen though haha.
I am going to be cautious on speculation, here. The last few patches have seen mostly bug fixes but Necromancer has also had a skill or two improved. No major rework to the profession, though. Instead of nerfing some of the stronger professions, Arena net seems to prefer buffing the weaker ones incrementally. They may improve a signet or spectral skill but also many take time off from any real Necro changes and focus on other professions. I expect bug fixes and hope the givers glitch is one of them but beyond that do not expect any big changes.
the new loot system will probably be the biggest change. They also need to move harvest nodes around more often to make it harder for gold farmers. There are probably also changes to Fractal grouping and, I hope, an improved BLTC UI.
While I agree with moving nodes around more, I don’t think it’ll have a big enough impact on the gold farmers scrounging up crafting mats. This is because the most lucrative way to do it is by using a bot that teleports around the map. Ideally I’d really like to see something that prevents this script implemented, but not sure how they can do it while movement is client side and not server side. :/
Anyways, as long as they continue fixing bugs I’ll be happy. People get too hung up on these Patches. Just glad I haven’t seen people saying ‘MAKE OR BREAK TIEM!’ as is the norm for the forums, despite the game being out for more than half a year now.

I end up as a “glass completely empty” for patch days.
They will fix a few things for other classes, maybe a tool tip for us. Thieves and warriors get buffed with boon hate, and we will get “balanced” somewhere, meaning less effective, but not enough to call it a nerf. They will say they improved game play for us, read as “now you only have to spec in one thing, cause it’s all you have left”.

I wouldn’t object to this as long as it covers all forms of denying death from fall damage. (Such as Mist Form etc) because it is an unfair advantage in WvW when you are able to flee via base jumping.
Of course we’ll also get to see eles and necros across the board screaming ’Y U NERF THIS?!" because most people think that Nerf and Bug Fix are interchangeable.
I doubt we’ll see much for the necro. In the State of the Game interview, they mentioned that necros have received a lot of love lately and they want to give other classes the same. When asked about necro issues they all just looked at each other, stumbled over their words, and moved on to the next topic.

Lol! A bug is only a bug if players do not like it. Then it is an exploit.
What do I expect? Condition duration runes get fixed so they work again.
What do I hope for? Death Shroud UI improvement and fixing Spiteful Talisman.

DS UI would be my pie-in-the-sky hope. I doubt very much anything else will change but tooltips. Possibly a fix to spiteful Talisman and condition duration runes.
Cast times/projectile speeds are not something they will overhaul in one patch. Someone earlier in this thread said it best; ANET doesn’t do big buffs, they do tiny incremental buffs/nerfs over the course of months to keep an eye on the power creep of the class. Except for a few big fish, like backstab damage early on, and some overpowered buffs like the 3 stacks of might per shatter (that was a great patch).
Unfor. I don’t see the UI hitting this patch though, because it wasn’t even hinted at, so no hopes getting too high for me.

After all we are necromancers (raising the dead, raising spirits), It should really revolve around this function, warlocks and witchdoctors are typically the ones involved with curses etc.
Nobody really uses minions because they don’t regen out of combat, why should a ranger’s pet regen out of combat, same diff? heh

Please no!! Then everyone will flock to the class, and people will call me rude names for playing an overpowered class. The last thing the necro needs is less skilled players flocking over… its hard enough to convince people we are worth it in PVE as is.
1) Some abilities are now more reliable, (dark path, corrupt boon, etc),
2) Reanimator goes to hell
3) Protection of the horde goes to hell
4) Cast times on some abilities are reduced
yes, please. There are almost too many must-have-MM-traits tho, we dont need more
5)implemented an actual DS-UI
fixed. this is also the only thing i expect them to do in the patch.
