New trait system problem
Path of Corruption is what made Terrormancers viable for a while in the PvP meta. It’s a very good trait and, for any build, a good choice.

hes talking about pve where mobs rarely have more than 1 boon on them.
Oh. In that case, you probably shouldn’t be going condi at all, so Banshee’s Wail is the best choice. Warhorn is good there. Consider that traited Locust Swarm has an effective power coefficient of 3.0 (though crits factor in differently than one big hit) and is AoE. For reference, Backstab is only a 2.4

Honestly you’re just noticing one of the number of issues with their new specialization system. They simply haven’t done a great job with a lot of trait placements, and there are a few situations where the three choices can end up all being worthless to you.

I totally agree with you that’s why i made this post… I remember last update to skills, anet devs made a post so we could give feedback this time they said they were interested in out feedback but there is no general post to do so, so maybe we can post here all the problems we see with necro new trait… I posted this one because is the one affecting my build and they already said they were looking at the blood magic line.

But i want to go Condi… so banshees wail is out of question…
I think everything has been sent to them so far, but it never hurts to bring up something specific just in case it went unnoticed. I personally certainly never thought of this because I never really considered the exact trait choices PvE condi builds might want, especially if WH wasn’t taken, and this is a clear issue. Chances are RP will be changed in some way, I really don’t feel like more LF is the answer, and its in one of the worst locations since condi weapons are the worst at on-hit/crit procing. So hopefully that will help out builds, or potentially we’ll see shifting of other parts of the tree.
It was sent to them? When? Where? I totally missed and would love to give some feedback… especially because they listen too.
I remember las time they asked for our input I pointed out the scepter for mesmers (that was supposed to be the condi weapon) was lacking the condi’s and suggested the auto attack should cause torment and guess what they did it (of course not only because i suggested lol)
I wouldn’t say Banshee’s Wail is out of the question for PvE condi builds. It’s actually fairly strong for them.
But yes, Reaper’s Precision really needs to be replaced with…well, anything else.
The problem with Wail isn’t that it is bad for PvE condi builds, but with the current trait setup it basically forces you to take it or waste the slot on one of the other two awful traits for PvE.

This ^.
It would be nice if they changed Reaper’s Precision to do something more useful, like say 33% chance on crit to gain 1% life force and apply torment for 2-3 seconds.
I mean honestly as is it’s better off being bumped up to 100% chance to trigger and moved to another tree.

This is the real culprit here.

I believe it was mentioned several times in the original feedback thread.
3 condi traits but no power trait in grandmaster, Lingering Curse gets nerfed for PvE and no real PvE condi option in master tier.

Just fyi, the Locust Swarm of a traited warhorn can do more bleeding with Barbed Precision than the dagger’s Enfeebling Blood. So it really is a viable option for condi builds in PvE.
But yeah, being forced to take a weapon because there’s no other viable trait is lame.

you’re going to be building crit anyway on a conditions build, why not take reaper’s precision? Life force is always a good thing to have more of, regardless of how little the gain is. It’s better than nothing.

In PvE the only time lifeforce is an issue is if you are playing condi and trying to solo a boss like lupicus. But i doubt thats something the OP does. That plus the slow attack rate of scepter makes the trait totally worthless.

Just replace Reaper’s Precision with a lower version of Parasitic Contagion that work im DS 7-8% and give Curses it’s real and needed power GM that grants crit damage based on condition on foes, I already feel like giving up on terror anyway and someone please burn Reaper’s Precision at the stake Dark Armor was more used than it.

Like any other healing skill or trait, Parasitic Contagion should work through DS anyway. Also, that trait is not an option for PvE.

It would, why choose WH trait or PoC in PvE?? It’s currently used too.. 6 6 0 6 is current condition necro if you tried noticed how I said move it to master since curses needs a power GM??

This is the reason why i asked for a 4th trait in adept and major. stuff like this is bound to happen :P

hasn’t this been a necro oriented problem since release? haha
THis will be even worse when we have 3 trait lines, and third one brings nothing to the curent builds. yay, i got a 3rd grandmaster, that does kitten-all for my build. THANKS ANET!

Its never been too bad because we can slot adepts in the master and grandmaster tier.
exactly spoj, they give us a third line, and it does f all to our builds, hahaha. LAZY design. but, hey, reaper!
The mere existence of reaper’s precision in its present form makes me think that all of these traits traits aren’t finished yet.
yeah i wanted to try chilling darkness for a power reaper build but i mean all the grandmasters seem wasteful for a power build in curses

hence, why i said that the 3rd grandmaster trait really does not bring anything to our existing builds, imo.

We’re just talking about condi builds right?
