Hello guys,
I think i finally decided which class i wanna level up and this will be necro. I am kind of guy who likes both PVE and PVP but its rather 70% PVP and 30% PVE. I wanna play huge norn, since it suits best for me, but im afraid of being “clothy giant” pvp wise. Won’t this be an big disadvantage on sPVP and WvW fields? I don’t see many norns in the Mists so that’s why i’m asking.

If you plan on playing your necro in PvP for the most part it would be recommended to create an asura, since necros have lackluster escape options and access to rezz signets, they tend to get focused pretty hard by everything organized and not beeing a giant helps to some extent.
On the other hand, if you enjoy the norn animations and visuals if would say just go with it.

I play a Charr Necro – it’s only unfair in jumping puzzles where the stupid 4 legged jump is diconcerting.

Asura may give you a small advantage to not being seen, but in reality it won’t matter much in a fight against smart players.

In GW2, I don’t think its so much of an issue for a necro. Sure it makes you visually a bigger target, but it isn’t generally that difficult for people to see even a tiny asura and target them, even in big WvW zergs.

Especially if you just want to be a norn (I really dislike asura’s anyway), just go for it.

Charr necro here too.
For jumping purposes i utilize attack or draw weapon command. If you are in “2 leg combat mode” jumping is not much different compared to a human.

And ignore the part about organized and asura. Beeing asura helps mostly in chaotic pvp encounters like hotjoin/frees/wvw where beeing Norn means you are big, you are a threat and people don’t call targets that often.

Norn necro is a wise choice my friend…

It doesn’t matter that much, your nametag is still the same size, they can see you.

In WvW, at least, a Norn is the best choice if you want to avoid being seen. Yeah, that sounds really odd, but Become the Snow Leopard gives you a good duration stealth on a pretty low cooldown.

Asuras have access to Confusion via the Pain Inverter racial, on a 30s CD. That might be a reason to consider them over Norn.

Asura are technically the best in WvW because of one of their racial skills, but its not that big of a deal.
