Parasitic Contagion
I honestly believe it would be far too strong for a condition/hybrid reaper. No idea how else it’d be buffed, though.
It needs to work in shroud. Until it does, it will always be relegated to trash tier.
I think ALL our heals should work in shroud, as well as regeneration really.

Condition doesn’t go Curses anyway right now.
Of course it should. That thing is kitten since its in the game. Making it work in Shroud would not only be a good buff to it, it would also make it feel better to use this trait.

Not sure that matters, nor is it set in stone. Just saying that the potential condition damage of the reaper is so high that allowing this trait heal through shroud would make any decent player virtually unkillable.
One-on-one it doesn’t seem so strong, but when there are four or five mobs/players ticking for 3-5k condition damage each, things get crazy.
it would be fun for a day then it would die like blighter’s boon did

sure, when there are four or five players, it will heal way more. but then youre also dealing with 4-5 players.
I dont see how it can be ok in 1vs1 but op in 1vs5 at the same time.

Nah but in 5v5 though with extra team boons/support/heals/res you’d be hardly killable.
Plus imagine a team of condi necros all bursting and spamming epidemic, that’d be comical.
In a 5v5 AoE removal is so common you are unlikely to be able to keep up large condition stacks for meaningful amounts of time. Realize that it doesn’t even heal you while in shroud, so it has to be really powerful to be able to make up for that alone. Its problem is that it is a “win more” trait, like on-death traits. They are traits that don’t contribute much because for them to be strong enough as a trait they require conditions where you are already winning regardless of the trait’s influence.
PC is probably best changed to not require damage dealt, but just be on applying conditions (like an opposite of Altruistic Healing), or on tick of conditions, regardless of damage dealt. This would also open it up for non-condition damage builds.

I’d say to remodel it after the current Blighter’s Boon except with conditions instead of boons. And considering all the vuln application you can get from Spite there’s a lot of synergy. Maybe too much even, so it would have to be moved to another line. A merge with Corrupter’s Fervor in Death Magic could make the entire line a lot more attractive.
I think its just fine in Curses even with the change, since it would have quite a bit of synergy with basically every single trait.

Good players use curses, bad players read meta battle.

I just now realized Parasitic Contagion isn’t in Spite anymore. Then it should be fine to change it without having to relocate it.
Since PC kinda makes your condis “siphon” health from enemies (a pseudo-siphon if you will), yes, it should most definitely heal you in Shroud.

Not any more than any other class with active mitigation instead of lifesteal and stuff.
Also, as mentioned by others: cleanses

I like this idea.
Condition cleansing is always going to be a counter-argument to anything regarding conditions, but I think realistically you can’t balance around the belief that they will always be cleansed; They won’t.

They can also be avoided, tanked(resistance) or transferred. Honestly the only “worrying” scenario would be PvE something will happen to those conditions before, while and after they are ticking in either PvP or WvW. They should have found a compromise by now due to flawed PvE.
The idea is nice but I liked the original concept of higher risk=higher healing but if that is the last option oh well.
The Dhuumfire thread
I tried Parasitic Contagion in my hybrid build yesterday and I realized it gives you life force while in shroud (and I hope its intended and not a bug). In most of my fight I could upkeep Shroud indefinitely with a Dhuumfire Reaper build. I wasn’t very convinced about the usefulness of this trait until I tried it, now I don’t want to change it by a bit.

It doesnt give lf while in shroud. The lf gain probably come from something else.
I must be wrong then but I was able to sustain Shroud like I never did. I recorded a video, I should review and eventually post it.
RS1 can keep you in shroud for a looooooooooong time if you’re not taking damage, especially with quickness.
We’ve been asking for that since spec patch preview.
