It’s worthless along with the 15 trait same line, no reason for them to waste any more time on em either disable it or give something else.
I would like to be able to turn it off untill is ready, It would be unfair for people who want to use it to disable it completely.

Or just move it higher in the trait line. Trade it with the 25 point passive, which makes perfect sense to people placing points in the line for whatever build but will not go that deep to be forced to use it.

You are right, they should improve Protection of the Horde too. Anyway, I think these 2 traits (Reanimator and PotH) should be optional not minor, because they force you to go with minions if you want go tanky. Necromancer is the only profession that have minor traits related to Utility skills, which is a terrible design decision.
Increasing the durability of a useless minion doesn’t make it better.

Don’t ever, ever, EVER force a player to take a pet if they don’t WANT a pet, ESPECIALLY if you have dungeon mechanics that turn that pet against you.

Please disable or remove until you stop content from spawning stuff on pets. No fun having grubs at Lupi spawn on this pet, especially when you have no choice about having the pet, you are just forced to have the little….

Uncategorized Fractal (asura one), after the room with 4 champions there are several harpies killing which 95% gives me that pathetic minion. I might not even notice it and run electric pulses puzzle. But if this minion gets hit (and he will) – I get hit too, and so people near me.

This trait needs to be replaced with something better ASAP. When comparing this trait to the other class trait lines of equal “stat” it simply is not balanced.
+1 just move it so it is not a compulsory trait…we have few enough traits we want to use without being forced to use a useless one.

I know this has been covered in other threads, but why? That little thing does attack stuff. It even takes a hit or two for me in PvE. It’s not a 100% thing (minion AI?), but it’s not 0% either.

I agree with the motivation behind this thread. This trait has been nothing but a hindrance to me.
I thought in the nice tread tread we already had open made it clear, most of dont want it, the few that do let them keep it by making it a major trait.

Summons are pretty situational. I’ve yet to run into situation when this sad excuse for a minion is truly detrimental, but it never does anything useful either, and the way it prolongs “in combat” state drives me up the wall. This really shouldn’t be obligatory for everyone who wants to dabble in Death line.
I actually like him! In WvW when you’re on a mortar or treb, when a jagged pops up you know there’s a loot bag beside you!
I personally am not in favour of getting rid of him all together. I don’t do dungeons yet so I haven’t had any issues where he is actually a risk for me, and in all honesty, he never keeps me in combat because he dies so quickly.
I would however be willing to sign a petition to move this trait to a major, possibly combine it with another trait. I personally think that Both Reanimator, and Protection of the Horde need to be Major traits. Both of them are useless to a non-minion build. I suggest combining Reanimator with the Minion Master Major trait, and Protection of the Horde with Flesh of the Master.
I would be in favour of putting two of these four in the left over minor spots – Shrouded Removal, Spiteful Vigor, Reapers Protection, or Death Shiver. I don’t feel this would be over powered in any way considering every other profession have Minor traits that are actually useful to all builds across the board. I know this also leaves two empty major trait choices, but I’m sure there’s something to be done for that. I’m currently too lazy to think of something that I know won’t be read or considered by anet

This petition is not for getting rid of it at all. It is to disable it until it get fixed (or move to a higher trait point, or moved to optional or something that really changes it).
They last longer… they’re still worthless!

I seen my Jagged Horror get to an enemy once today. It did 1 attack then died.

Instead of dying soon enough not to be trouble, now it sticks around longer to cause harm.

Reanimator was a horrible choice for a no-choice trait. I’d favor replacing it with something useful. As is, the thing is both useless and actively detrimental in some situations.

I don’t want it removed, I just want it to not suck. Why do they have to degenerate at all? Let us have up 3 or so that last until they die, the bleeds they do actually pile on and help out alot if they are able to live. Make it the 25pt minor if you want, I’d still be 30 in death for all the minion traits regardless. Just make it so ALL minions/pets can’t trigger content/aggro things/rally people in pvp, etc. Until that happens people will keep hating on them no matter how useful they are.

I play Ranger and Necro and neither of them are welcomed to high end fractals due to pets screwing up mechanic everywhere.

You aren’t forced to trait 5 into Death Magic. That said, Death is the Toughness line for Nec’s. Toughness to my mind would lend itself more to a daggers/wells build, which has to get in close to targets to be effective. Instead, Death Magic focuses on staff and minions, both of which lend themselves to not taking aggro.
Since the traits are unlikely to change that radically, at least make all minion traits be choices. That way, people who don’t want minions but who want toughness traited don’t have this thing shoved down their throats.

I’d rather have it toggleable. However, considering that would probably be more coding changes, it would simply open up more areas to bring out new bugs.
I’d be down for having it disabled and I generally run MM.

Remove degen completely, or remove inner cooldown. This way you can actually reach the max cap of horrors. Makes PotH at leastsomewhat useful too.

Actually, before the patch, I’ve seen several of those things hitting 2 o even 3 times before dying and it was the most useless thing ever.

+1 get rid of it already, so necros will actually be able to again put trait points into death magic
You could even do a hot fix right now, no need to make big talks within your team eating cakes to know if you should really do it or maybe decide to not listen to 80+% of every necro player in your game like you did for this patch… just fkin’ do it!

wich aspect from this useless thing do u like exactly? like to see it being 1 or 2 shot by any mobs or players? (illusion of life… or warrior rez anyone?) does it plz u to see it lure mobs that u never atked for u? Devs force us, necros to have a trait that is arming our gameplay way more than…. wait no, there s no benefice at all from it.
Don’t redisign something you failed, just admit you failed, disable it and move on already, else it will take months and anyway at the end you ll have to recognize this thing is useless or even dangerous to have…. can you imagine that necros would actually prefer to have a BLANK trait more than having this freakin’ useless Reanimator?

I dropped Death Magic because of this trait; being forced/locked/kept in the combat state (even for the few seconds it lasts) outside of my control – simply for wanting to trait more toughness – is not cool…

The Maximum Overtroll limit is reached Anet. Please switch out this terrible trait instantly. Just because Necro Players started to master Death Shroud, you don’t have to help other Professions keep up in PvP by giving them free revives.
Just a quick reminder: this petition is for disabling Reanimator until it gets fixed. It’s not for removing it completely out of the game. I suggested this because so many people just don’t put points in Death Magic anymore because of this trait (and for Protection of the Horde too) because they want to build Toughness or improve their staff, not Minion Master.
I hope this clarify better the sense of this thread ^^
Possible fix solutions:
General: Improve AI, life degeneration only kicks in out off combat
1. 20% of the damage you take is redirected to the minion
or
2. 33% of the damage received by the minion is granted its master as life
or replace it with something like:
gain up to 50 – 500 bonus thoughness based on how much % health u lost. So u get that 500 thougness extra if you hit 10% health, this should also work in deathshroud. Would fit a necro well in general imho and fits into that whole attrition-thingy.
I would be ok with swapping the 5 point and the 25 point minor traits around for those that like pet for the poison field or whatever, that way those that want to go the pet build route can have them and those that want to just improve staff abilities don’t have to worry about them.
