Pointless Specutlation?
That’s my favorite kind of speculation!
1) Overhaul of major and minor traits.
2) Traits that affect underwater weapons.
3) Wells get a 1 second increase in duration.
4) A viable way to build Life force on scepter and Trident.
1) Power coefficients on most skills need to go up. So many skills do less damage than dagger autoattack it creates a situation where you don’t want to use skills except for defensive purposes.
2) Tweaks to major and minor traits. An overhaul to the Death Magic line minors to not force minions on us.
3) Slight changes/buffs to Axe.
4) Lifesteal buffs.
5) Minion AI fixes.

These are the most important ones.
guard ,nades eng ,Trap thief \ranger ,signet\shout warrior, zerk mes\ele & shiro rev.
1) Fixed Minions AI to correctly do nothing while having more rage against inanimate objects, as originally intended.
2) Changed description of Gluttony to match its effect: “This trait does nothing”
3) Now Lich Form correctly shows a big red arrow over the Necromancer’s head.
1) Increased Axe damage to properly match its mid-range.
2) Increased Staff projectile speed so that it may actually hit something.
3) Minion fix, now they don’t plain suck.
4) Improved DS, now it’s actually more useful than just a temp health bar and lacking skills.
5) Due to its overpower-ness that broke all balance, the Necromancer class has been removed from the game.

Lets see. I suspect very little changes
1. Gluttony fix + buff
2. Maaaaaaaybe the DS GUI
3. ???? Oh right I bet they’ll introduce some underwater combo finisher buffs which nobody cares about.
4. Didn’t they say they were working on making flesh golem usable underwater?
I doubt they’ll fix the following things:
- Minion AI
- Reanimator and that other DM minor trait
- Signets and signet traits
- Axe (they already buffed it, even tho it still needs some more)
- Wait vampiric traits aren’t affected by healing power? They should, but I doubt thatll get fixed :P

as far as speculation goes:
1. Buff to gluttony from 5% to 10%
2. Minor nerfs to other traits to compensate
Not sure i understand changes when it comes to the necromancer, but here it goes.
1. clicking the four skills in DS will be a lot easier, thus we finally master death shroud
2. fixed 1 out of 70 buggs
On a more serious note: If i don’t see that god kitten increase in the staff projectile speed, it will just seal the deal that i will never buy ANET products again.

I would most like to see life steal traits scale with healing power, would make my month.
i have a feeling if they bother to give the class the buffs it needs, they will find some way to also nerf other aspects at the same time, making the buffs only medocire and not really making the class any better. the only reason i think that is because A) the class released in the state it did. and B ) there hasnt been any substantial changes to it since. so why would things change now?

I am hoping they take a look at some traits within the various lines and shift them around a bit, or even combine a few to add some new ones. Even though we have a variety of skills, we rarely use a significant number of trait skills because franky they are lack luster.
In fact, with 0 traits, at level 80 with full exotics, adding traits does not seem to have a large impact, besides boosting stats. I think they really did not take their time with this class…. at all. I think they screwed up DS so badly in going from a down state to a class defining attribute, that they just said screw it, and threw in a bunch of random traits skills in random trait lines. I really hope they sit down and really take a look at it. There is a reason why it is one of the least played classes, and “skill required” is not a good enough reason.
Thus, I am hoping they alter/adjust some traits. I am also hoping they buff wells a bit, and reduce some cooldowns and casting times. I think it would make necro more forgiving, especially giving all these rendering errors and lag issues that some people are having. Rendering issues, with a bit of lag, coupled with our slow cast times, makes the necro more difficult to play without having a significant power tradeoff. In that if we land our skills perfectly, its still not incredibly effective. I don’t think necro is weak, but i think it is behind the powercurve when compared with the top 3 classes (Mesmer, thief, guardian). Mesmers might have gotten a damage nerf (slightly) but they are still powerful as heck in pvp/wvw and necros have a long way to go.
I also hope they buff the power ratios for weapons. I run a power/survival build and a condition/toughness/crit build at times. For the power builds, i feel axe damage is just not there, unless you go high crit % on dmg. It just cant compare which leads some people to believe that scepte rdmg in a hybrid build is better than axe. I rarely see people use axe, though I try at times, and rarely do they use it for the autoattack. On the other hand, when I run dagger, the dagger 2 skill is so lackluster, easily cancelled that I rarely even press 2. Usually I just slam 3, drop 2 wells, and autoattack until dead.
They just need to take a look at the class concept big time and really try to adjust it. I still hold to the fact that we are not playing a necro, but just a blood mage, or dark wizard, instead of a necro.
I refuse to talk about minioins because they are junk, unless you get lucky and they decide to attack, besides being so whimpy that a fart kills them.
It does not matter, most people with a brain can quickly ascertain that the 14 represented the day (as there are only 12 months in a year, even on the korean calendar) and the 12 represented december, the month we are currently in.
Anyways, lets bring the discussion back to the changes we would like to see, etc. or the speculation.
I am sincerely hoping for some good changes though I have to admit that I have no clue why I keep hoping for these changes, because I doubt one patch is going to lead me to believe that “HERE We are boys, Necro is home and shining in all game modes.”
Btw, necro rocks in all pve, but maybe suffers slightly with the bleed cap.

Most amusing. MM/DD/YYYY is almost exclusively American – Middle Endian dates fell out of use in the EU quite some time ago, and (though I’m loathe to quote wiki) “… used primarily in the United States and Canada”. I’ll accept some burden of guilt over it though; as a Brit, it was us that gave you the Imperial system and you’re sort of stuck with that too
I wouldn’t go assuming someone isn’t well travelled or experienced, as I’m a) forever adjusting crazy American data to work with the systems I engineer and b) an experienced traveller.

Back to the matter in hand – I hope we see some pretty major changes. Comparing our 25 point traits to other classes is just depressing.

Yeah, man. But what if the patch was on December the 12th. Then, it would be really really confusing and we wouldn’t know whether the first 12 stood for the day or the month. Ditto on the second 12.

Signet of the Locust gets buffed to passively grant 15-20% movement speed, and more explicitly doesn’t stack with any other passive boost except swiftness.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

Something pertaining to the thread: see the difference between what rangers were promised and what rangers got last path. Expect the same.

Every patch i’ve expected arena net to be bold with their changes and actually change things, but nothing has happened consistently, So I have few expectations that anything major is actually going to be done to necro’s because the devs have yet to see anything wrong with an immobile class with low damage output and no way to maintain a modest amount of bleeding on any class with a 10 second condition removal trait. Best thing they could do to necro would be to make those traits a blanket 10 pct reduction on conditions as opposed to some random thing that has a chance to completely ruin a fight by sniping all your bleeds off the top, without ANY skill or ability having been demonstrated by the enemy player, you just get sniped by the gods of RNG and chance in this game.
Ok let´s see,
1.) Thiefes get Pistol / Pistol buffed
2.) Rangers get Longbow Arrow speed buffed
3.) Rangers get their movement speed buffed
Oh wait that aren´t Necros, so what do i expect.
1.) Tooltip changes
2.) The Spear get´s it´s damage buffed for 1,5% to make that aquatic combat as awesome as it is
3.) Tutorial mode for Death Shroud
4.) Nothing as usual

I’m not too hopeful about the Minion AI.
Anet didn’t even know that the Minions horribly bug out and freeze or run off on their own before we asked for a way to disable the Reanimator trait.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Minion stat changes though.
On the bright side it seems Anet is focusing a lot on Ranger this time, and if we are lucky maybe they’ll work on pet AI, which in turn would likely involve work that also affects Minion AI.
Ranger’s Signet of the Hunt passive run speed is buffed up to 25%, so I’m expecting Signet of the Locust to go up at least to 15%.
It’s likely an easy change to make.
Maybe we’ll see a buff to it’s Active ability as well.
Since Gluttony is being fixed there’s hope they are looking into other Necro traits, too.
Parasitic Bond fix, perhaps.
i wish they would throw reanimator in the garbage where it belongs and make an entirely new minor trait in its place. -_- ain’t nobody need jagged horrors for anything. i detest having to take reanimator to access 2 of the best staff traits.
I reckon they will fix a few of the bugs in the bug list but definitely not pet AI. They will definitely change something that already works the way it is into something else entirely. They will probably introducing at least 1.3 times as many bugs as they fix some of them previous bugs that have already been fixed.
I really do not hate the Jagged Horror as much as everyone else, the thing does stack up bleeds, and I did see it take a hit from a mob once. It isn’t completely useless. Once minion AI is fixed (eventually), I think it will be fine if it is responsive.
Of course I also think it should not degenerate at all, and we should be able to have two of those out at a time. The big issue with reanimator was the dungeon bosses getting buffed from killing them, people rally’ed off them (even though it wasn’t suppose to happen), them doing stupid things like all the other minons and agroing things they shouldn’t.
I mean come on, whats better for a condition bleed spec than a summon that causes bleeding. Increase its movement speed, responsiveness, and take away the stupid degeneration and its a useful trait.

We want a lot of fixes/rework we wont have.
Example: every necromancer want to see their normal UI when in DS, but never hear something like that from Devs. Also, we ask for raw numbers on LF pool, not silly %s
Gluttony fix just missed the deadline to make it into this patch, no other changes.

I find the necromancer one of the best PVP class in the game, is just great but I consider the next changes just fair.
Bugs
1) Fix Parasitic Bond
2) Fix Gluttony
3) Fix Lifesteal
4) Fix Minion AI
7) Fix Reanimator
8) Fix the tool tip in bleeding damage skills (don’t show the durations increase / damage increase)
9) Blood fiend health siphon fix
Then just some changes
1) Remove the DS GUI (Make it just like the other elite skills, because you cant see how much life you have, your CD and yours Conditions/Booms)
2) A viable way to build Life force on scepter and Trident (off hand dagger?)
As you can see the mayor part are not charges, just bugs fixes, but the most important in my opinion is the DS UI.

well deserved water combat buffs !
What they probably will fix:
- Gluttony rounding error.
- Ranger pet fix that somehow manages to not improve minions.
- Dead silence.
What they could fix easily but won’t:
- Disable reanimator pending a more permanent fix.
- Improve Axe 1 damage and/or double either the stacks or duration of the vulnerability, because they nerfed vuln ages ago and never adjusted axe 1 to compensate.
What they should do that might actually require work:
- Buff reanimator to make it regen minions too then make it a major adept so no one is forced to take it. Move Dark Armor to Master Minor, and Protection of the horde down to Adept Minor where someone might be in danger of noticing the effect.
- read “Necro skills, balance and opinions” and let that be your bible.
- Provide immunity to fear in one of the necro fear traits.
- Fix the condition stacking problem already. It’s been HOW long since you could take 2 poisoners or burners into a dungeon?
- Pet AI fix
- Jagged Horror
- Pets Scaling with gear.
- Siphion Life Scale with Heal
i know the scaling thing takes up an enourmes amount off time. but the earlier you start, the better :-)

On a side note, I’ll give my 2 cents as well:

- Some traits adjustements (minor changes on numbers and things like that)
- Some skills adjustements (the same kind of changes that traits)
I see something more like this:

I like that Death Shroud has no UI. It gives the skill a sense of blind urgency. There is really no valid reason other than the serenade of tiny violins to remove the DS UI.
All Necro really needs is functional Minion AI and Siphon Heals that scale. That’s it.
