I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
-Bear form for Thermo fractal.
Flesh Golem for boss fights for the LF gain of its death.
- I wish there was a LF gain elite skill other than the death of FG.
Rage sigil for when you are in Death Shroud. For max burst.
-Always hold staff for trash mobs for multiple LF gain per hit,
or switch to staff before you go into DS for the highest weapon strength.
Dagger m/h since it has a higher LF gain than Axe long-term wise single target.
(18sec worth is 54%LF on dagger vs. 48%LF on axe
[dagger AA is 2sec, and axe ghastly claws occurs every 5sec with the last occurrence of ghastly claws having a duration of 3sec afterwards + the extra attack from 0sec], and dagger also gets you into melee range to get the most out of spectral armor/ walk giving higher net LF gain.

my build is basicly made for wvw but it works all around if you just change skill or 2 around to be more for the damage than utility :P
basicly highly survivable shroud based necromancer with wells. i dont feel wells needs more than the mere ground targeting to make them really good in group fights, and even that just to be able to position your self way better during fights witohut needing to be too close to them all the time.
with all bloodlusts up and 5 stacks on guard killer buff my well of power starts to tick on 4k+ unmitigated damage (ofcourse defenses on enemies mitigates it quite abit) wich crits for 8k unmitigated with 85% chance for the crits while in shroud, and basicly im able to be nearly all the time in shroud unless iget several people focusing on me.
and ive heard several necromancers complain to me of why i take spectral armor, how its waste in wvw etc but in my opinion its just amazing skill cause of its flexible use.
able to break stun or fear (even if tooltip mentions mere stun), reduced damage taken for 6 seconds wich if used for stun break usually mitigates their burst they oftenly throws after “you cant evade it”, alot of life force regenned during its duration. you can use it as stun breaker, you can use if when enemy uses some fast hitting skill like warriors spin to replenish good chunk of life force back up (19382 lf pool so 1.5k roughly each hit taken replenished).
basicly as long as you position your self well you can survive alot of damage from enemy group cause your able to replenish your shroud on so fast pace that when ever you can pop it up again your almost always above 50-75% life force pool if not on 100%, and each time shroud ends your heal is off cd waiting to be used if/when needed :P
and i took the flameblast runes for crit procs cause its power based, isee loads of necros run with the agony proc even as powers wich is just waste of time, when it hits about 30-35 a tick when not moving. it just makes no real difference really cause power bases scales it so badly opposed to hybrids/condimancers
also your heal and dagger 4 are amazing condition management tools to use along with staff 4 so conditions are rarelly issue. you could optionally use axe/dagger over d/d but personally even in big fights i feel d/d is better for the ability to root person, drain life and get fast life force from random nearby enemy, even when axe’s aoe for retaliation+plague combo is pretty dam effective also.
UnHoly necro
Power ~2500
Crit chance ~28%
Healing power ~600
Health ~ 30k
Toughness ~ 1800
You have permanent swiftness from spectral walk and locust. The majority of the time is spent in DS which will refuel itself. The utilities 7&9 can be switched out if needed. With ~ 600 healing power the group heals are great with transfusion. The foods can be changed out depending on the circumstances.
The biggest thing is to hit like a mack truck and to be able to take as much damage as a tank without ending up dead!

I’m not very good at the game (short/stubby fingers, not very dextrous, and slow reaction time) but I love it all the same! My Necromancer (Billip) is centered on the vulnerability condition. He has soloed most of the game so far but really shines with a party (imagine fighting a foe with almost continuous 20 stacks of vulnerability…).
I usually start at range with my staff and lay down my marks then switch to axe/focus and start stacking up the vulnerability using DS for an extra life bar and still keep stacking…
Anyway here’s my build, please let me know what you think and I can definitely take the criticism!

Good day,
I wanted to share my “Vampiric Well O’ Mancer” build with fellow necromancer players. Please keep in mind that this is a PVE build which I find really usefull in dungeons.
This build is being used in melee-combat for the most of the fight. Every well you place, every crit you make will result in life-stealing.
This is the build so far:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQRBIbhGyIJNt0WTDHuJQGipbvrjO4IhqdA-TBSBwAFV+FRJ419Hup+DK9DIM/p5kAA4JAIIAzB-e
- I have left 1 utility slot open as a what I like to call it “a wild card”. If my party is stacking and needs more blinding, I will go with well of darkness, If Iám suspectible to control effects I would go with well of power.
- Feel free to swap Well of Blood for Consume Conditions for condition heavy foes.
- For this build I only use 1 Dagger for both weapon sets. (Saves you some money )
- Use Death Shroud every 10 seconds to gain 5 seconds of fury. When you will not use any of the death shroud skills (mostly Life Blast and Life Transfer) immediatly switch back and use that 5 seconds Fury for your normal weapons and utilities.
- Well of Corruption is a must in every boss fight. First of all, the skill converts each boon to a condition. Even if the boss does not have any boons active, “Defiance” is for as I know (correct me if Iám wrong on this) considerd a Boon resulting in 1 extra condition on the boss for every pulse. The minor trait “Target the Weak” increases your dps by 2% for every unique condition.
- Remember to use “Locust Swarm” (warhorn 5). True, the skill does little damage of its own, but: The skill has 10 impacts, each seperate tick has a change to result in a crit, each crit has a change to result in life-steal..thus more dps. Iám not sure if those 10 impacts are divided between a maximum of 5 foes, or if the skill may have 10 ticks for every foe.
(10 impacts with a maximum of 5 foes would result in 50 impacts at most, tough this seems a little OP)
- Feel free to swap “Vampiric Precision” for “Transfusion” for a more party-wide heal burst if your running with pugs that are less able to survive on their own.
I have yet to think of a build rotation, I will update my post when have the rotation ready.
Here’s my Condition Build ! Find it pretty strong so far.

I made this last week, because I was tired of dealing with an entourage that constantly got in my way, or needed replacing. I love it. I don’t Pvp, so I have no idea how it would work for that. But I have a blast in Silverwastes with it. That staff…precious baby <3

This isn’t the build I’m currently using; I use the Vampiric Well Bomber power build that’s been out there for awhile; however, I was wondering what more experienced Necros than I might think about this. I know it’s ill advised, but I’m looking to create an effective enough hybrid build that will suit the majority of my needs. It’s like 60/40 Condition/power…idk. Wasn’t sure if this was the place to post this, but still; any thoughts are appreciated.
i was thinking of something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNBIhZ6kkmGRt202s2mzGG3k2g/GTsLUQHAp5yG5G8BUeGVBA-e
i don’t know what type of gear would be best for this as i need some considerable up there toughness due to the range of dagger+warhorn skills also any better trait set ups for this i’d like to be able to keep DS up as much as possible hence all the stuff i picked up about
can’t really test this yet either as my necro isn’t level 80 yet so anyone with critiques or suggestions would be most welcome
hello everyone
It is quite simple, the main damage is the “death shroud” ax and warhorn, the staff is to control the area. trait “terror” is a great source of ongoing damage and when combined with “reapers protection” saves many situations.
Spectral wall: area control and constant damage
corrupt boom: it is to deal with elementalists guards and engineers
spectral armor: stun breaks, protection and extra life force

Pull condis from static allies/teammates, either give them away or eat them.
Undeath to revive and build up LF. Epidemic to spread the love.
Just build up stacks on one target, then spread it all around. Rune of Undead/Rabid stats for massive toughness. Not worried about condis, as I deal with them in multiple ways, so toughness > vitality. Massive condi damage.
Hello everyone,
I’m sure something similar has been posted but this is the build i use for pvp and wvw using terror and conditions to punish my foes. Here is the build video https://youtu.be/QHjTPrrkAgQ and the skill rotation video https://youtu.be/hpWlMwbHUMY if you can bear with my english and want to make a comment. If not here is the editor link http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNAW7Yjc00Yb1NG3webigBRyWfi+QgIUmMKA-TJRBABNfEAArMgGXEAAeAAAA

It looks bad but is surprisingly good. Applys a even balance of Direct and Condi dmg and has unmatched Condi manipulation. It even gets some mileage out of the healing power via Unholy Sanctuary, Staff regen, dagger 2 + sigils and signet of locust.
General playstyle: kite, kite, kite. One virtue of this build is the tremendous LF generation of the staff while still doing good damage. The staff pretty much requires hybrid stats to do good damage. Rotate between staff skills, and DS skills that apply conditions. Keep the conditions up. The dmg isn’t as flashy as your crits but it is what keeps the enemy in a panic. Flip to d/d when you are being overloaded with conditions and have blown all your other condi clears. Don’t forget signet of the locust, it is a powerful heal when surrounded by enemies. Remember one of your best weapons is the enemies conditions. Allow them to stack on you a bit before sending them back to your foe. Plague form elite is simply awesome when working with a good team.
This is my PvP build:

Main skills are 3 on scepter, and 2 on DS. And the Blood in power skill.

Here is my build!
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQRBIbdG2JNiUZjt0gRNwfjJwGCpCmO5qi62uQA
It’s a death shroud/ well/ life siphon build
No idea if its any good , but it fun ^^
I you have any improvements, please post!
This is my build, roughly. I don’t quite have everything here yet, but I’m heading for it:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRUQNAndWjM00UbXNu1webicBR6Y3qN5xnQGYGA-TBSAwAKV+xT9HAm/apPwiSwHnCga7PQ4JAAA-e
It’s an MM build that I’ve worked on to be a “take everything to the face, get back up grumbling, and then attack again” sort of build. Excellent survivability as long as I remember to get out of AoE fields and use staff 4 when needed.
Very top-heavy in stats (no crit or crit damage) so basically it’s a build for a party of squishier professions. I survive plenty long enough for higher dps profs to take out the enemy, or, failing that, I can live long enough to exhaust the enemy’s will to live. You might say it’s a stubborn build that enjoys wars of attrition.
(Note: I do PvE and haven’t fully done any dungeons, but so far I like the survivability and the decent longer-term damage)
Any comments are welcome, though I’m rather fond of my uglies (even if they do need improvement, mechanically speaking)
http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgQEpAXkBtw~
Zealot’s or Magi’s gear, Dagger/Warhorn and GS. Wells, the Reaper Elite Shout, and maybe the Signet of Locust. With the Blood Magic changes they’re talking about, I think I can be front-line sustain and support.
Basic rotation should be GS 5-3-auto-attack until they’re at 50%, 4, then spam 2 until they’re dead. If I ever get low, pop the elite, swap to Warhorn 5, pop SK, then SK 5, 4, auto until Life-force is at 50%, then drop out of SK. If I’m still low, blow all my wells and Signet while I auto with the dagger until my LF is back to full, then go back to SK.
Greetings All, I only recently got back into the game and am looking for advice on a build I am planning. Guess it will serve as my PVE build, thanks in advance for any help.

Ok, fellow nercos I reworked my build a bit: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-3_-300-kHkB0x3JIkJ0;9;4679;0146147257;4TwG1U;1hoHAhoHA1U
What do u think could it work or should back to the drawing board. The main I been having with my build vs the pvp is that i do good damage somes time. But if my Life force pool doesn’t get to cap I fall flat throughout the whole match and I get so much condi pressure on me that I cant clear it all before I die.

This is the Power build I use for WvW.
Death Variation:
I would keep both the wells, but the third Utility, your heal, and your elite can be whatever you feel like using.
Tried to find the best balance of stats I possible good and think the results came out pretty good. Yes you can do it with exotics, replace Captains stuff with knights stuff, It’s just not as effective.
Hey fellows necromancers! I am here to officially post my roaming build to hope our community, since a lot of necros complain about the class in WvW. I think they are just using “not optimal” builds or need some tips. So here you’ll find it!
This build is able to 1vX just fine.
You can check my build video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKCJYMAKAJI
If you are more of a reader person, i have a written guide in Metabattle. If you like what you see there, please positive rate the build so it becomes Meta.

Well of Power/Well of Suffering/Well of Corruption/Spectral Armor/Flesh Golem
Hello everyone posting a build I’ve been playing around with fairly recently. Testing it out trying to get it to a place where I feel satisfied with the synergy. The build revolves around life siphoning and burst power damage. The biggest damage comes from Well/Dagger burst and close range Life Blast. Sustain comes from Life Siphon, DS and Wells. In the next few paragraphs ill be going over major rotations and hypothetical situations in fights and counters to the build.
Ill start off with the biggest damage rotation which is Well of Suffering, Well of Corruption, Necrotic Slash and Life Blast. The best way to land this combo since we are using Wells and they are stationary is to try and get a knockdown with Flesh Golem pop off Well of Suffering then use Dark Pact with Well of Corruption and finish it off with Necrotic Slash till Death Shroud is available then Life Blast to victory! Also a quick note Fears and Chills can also help in forcing enemies to stay inside the Wells. Now of course in a perfect world you’ll be able to land that rotation perfectly but since we live in an imperfect world you’ll have to try and find opening or adapt to the situations. An example would be if going up against a boon heavy class/build using Well of Corruption first then Well of Suffering to really bring the pain and so on. Also Life Siphon should be sprinkled in the combos just so you get used to fitting it into the rotation and not build bad habits (which I tend to have sadly) by only relying on your Necrotic Slash and life siphoning sigils/runes.
For the sustain part of this build its all about Life Siphon and DS. The interesting part about this build is its very situational because Wells with the life siphon can also be used to sustain. Other then that the sustain is pretty straight forward. Life Siphon gives you a good chunk of HP also DS with Life Transfer traited can also give you a good chunk of HP and Well of Blood can instantly get 1/3 and more of your HP. Dagger off hand and Staff for condi transfer with DS trait Shrouded Removal.
This build has a few ways to be countered the most potent is stuns/daze. Your strongest healing skills are channeled or in the case of Well of Blood has high cast times so an aware opponent can cut your healing almost in half if he times his stuns/daze properly. Knowing when your opponent used his stuns/daze is key in landing your heals. This build with only one stun break is very susceptible to ganks but a good way to avoid this is to going on the offensive. If you see or feel a gank incoming pop your Wells with Well of Suffering or Well of Corruption 1st because they have 1/4 sec cast time. If you have enough Life Force you’ll be able to quickly turn a bad situation into an opportunity to maybe take out an over aggressive Thief or Mesmer basically any low hp squishy class. Staff also helps with avoiding ganks.
The 2 builds I’ve posted before this one imo are a lot more effective/stronger but are a lot more difficult to master.
This build is still in testing I feel it can have better synergy with itself (optimized) but posting the build because I still feel in general the build is solid just not optimized.

PvP Power/Condi Necro Build… Not for 1v1ing anybody, but very damaging while running with a group.
My point holder for PvP
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNAoYWn0ICd2gV2A+2As3gDrha2BpcwKDgQ+XptQMMCA-TpRHAB3eCAG4BAQ2hAAgjAQM7PcUZAA
I sometimes change Locust sig for grasp to cc ppl with wall mostly when i face ranged classes and i laso somtimes change to Mercy runes and somtimes Dolyak or Traveler (when I change to grasp speed is rlz necesery)
It also works well with sentinel or soldier amulets depending of team composition i chang it a lot..
Other wise like all necros very supceptable to CC , so worst enemies are WR thiefs and mesmers
Very good at hoding points if enemy has no cc i sometimes can hold against 2-3 players ,needs another player around you tho for full potentional for unhouly sanctuary and unhouly martyr to have full effect.
I use to run Death perception but ditched it for FIG for at least some stability wich is very much needed.
My reaper build ~ http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQJARWnMbC92glbCu2A0biFrBTKAEy+VxdwQYKkKEEDmUA-T1SBABBcEA24CAwpKOKrEjS1DMTJ4VKPQa/h/0EgnOGAeEAkCAolRA-w
Alternatives ~ If you’d rather trade one of the utilitys for a movement speed signet for getting around that’s fine, Or if you don’t want a Control elite for lich form that’s fine too it gives around the same lifeforce,
Strategies; Use your skill and chill attacks to get back into reaper shroud so you can both tear apart your enemies and stay alive, while in deathshroud your 3 and 5 both chill the threes detonation and the 5’s control based chill aoe, when your targets flee if you put alot of pressure you can use your greatsword five or your spectral grasp, Use your elite to set up bursts if they run pull them and chill them than use your elite and go into shroud to secure the kill, if your fighting multiple enemies at once anything bellow 3 people you can try to group them in your aoes or apply tons of pressure in reaper shroud. Really anything above a 2v1 is hard to pull off because your a light armor class. Unless you were fighting a few support guardians or if the enemies weren’t speced correctly. For instance my party of four people were taking the bay keep and there was a pug zerg of around 12 defending and atleast 3 were warriors and 2 of them didn’t have the berzerkers stance failsafe when I applied pressure so they downed easily, if you have any questions insert them in the comments, I’m not vary active on the forums. If you’d like to message me ingame It’s, AntVenom.9431 or Rexthearcher, Rexthereaper, etc.
I’ve been having fun running around making people bleed: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNArYWjc0QRNWbDe2AHOOwFK5X31hN8qDgWIuBTwIA-TRSAABKcEAo4QAE9JAQMlfA8AAYa/hQV/hQ9BtpEEA-e
This is my Chillin Reaper build. It’s all about chillin some people and keepin them that way.
The intention is for use in PvP. It’s not about high damage, it’s about sustained and super annoying control.

My Reaper chill/mm bomber build. I need gear and elite skill suggestions for staying in melee.
Purpose: WvW/HoT PvE
Weapon: Greatsword/War horn(for swiftness)
Heal and Utilities: Your soul is mine. Suffer/Rise/Summon Bone Minions
Elite: Haven’t decided between Summon Golem and Chilled to the bone.(opinions?)
Traits:
(Reaper Line)Chilling Nova/Soul Eater/Deathly Chill
(Death Magic Line)Shrouded Removal/Deadly Strength/Death Nova
(Soul Reaping Line)Unyielding Blast/Vital Persistence/Doom Fire
Gear: Marauder/Runes of the necromancer.(interested in alternatives but want toughness/anti-squish)
Personal Notes: I don’t want to be squishy. this is why I chose runes of the reaper. I am wondering if I should be using other gear. would this build be better as dire? or something else? any notes and suggestions that don’t change the build would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time if you choose to help.
