Here is my build for a Necro, focusing on sPvP. I’m the type of player who doesn’t enjoy dying. I’m not the best player, and I’m sure this build has presented somewhere before. But I made a video for some of my friends and thought I’d share it.

Go to 11:30 if you just want to see it in action.

Nice build, so you go for the famous 0/0/0/0/0 with only scepter/dagger, how’s it working out for ya? on a different note, I don’t think your link works

The Protector

This is a tanky solo & support PVE build inspired by The Abomination by Nemesis.

Build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQQQNAnYWjMaV6ZaeaM8JEpCYz0DuZcEHqHlD78hA-jwxAoLBxsXR0YrdDRrOGW9CmukIq2DUEtahAEsFA-e

Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/necromancer/Build-The-Protector/first#post2607227

Motivation: a build which is modest cost, easy to play, and offers some supportive value in a group, as well as being quite viable solo, and likely also decent in WvW (although I haven’t tried it there yet).

Principles:

  • High Toughness and Vitality (~1800 toughness/~28.8k health)
  • AoE Power-based – staff and axe/dagger
  • Support via offering Protection to allies and extra armor when rezing
  • Deathshroud – good LF generation and leverage of Deathly Perception

Methods:

  • Use of wells combined with Ritual of Protection trait provides self + allies in the well with Protection for 3 sec. Protection is a 33% reduction in damage taken, which equates to roughly an additional 900 toughness for those 3 sec.
  • Use of wells combined with Vampiric Rituals provides a great deal of healing from siphoning.
  • Although the build has negligible Crit Chance, use of Deathly Perception trait provides +50% crit chance while in DS for decent Life Blasts.
  • Use of 4 x Runes of Earth to add toughness, support the Protection and offer Protection on hit.
  • Use of 2 x Runes of Mercy provide additional 400 toughness while reviving an ally.

Notes:

  • This is a modest damage build. Killing a Veteran Giant, for example, is a bit slow. It is not a ZOMGMEGACRITZ build.
  • Bloodthirst could be swapped with Ritual of Life (Well of Blood on revive). That well will also trigger Protection.
  • Because we cannot heal while in DS, it is optimal to try to plan your use of DS for when wells are on CD, or between well casts, (e.g., when you are kiting/on the move) in order to maximize your gains from Vampiric Rituals and Vampiric traits.
  • Soul Marks could be swapped with Mark of Revival, at the cost of LF generation.
  • Use of Dagger instead of Focus for offhand is just my personal preference. In WvW I would likely opt for Warhorn instead.
  • Sigils: Flexible. E.g., could follow Nemesis and use Sigils of Leeching + Sigil of Restoration for offhand, or go Bloodlust/Force/Battle direction, or Renewal, etc.
Stealth nerfs are the perfect fertilizer for mistrust.

Behold the Dodgemancer!

The most OP, bestest ever necro buil…..ok, ok, just kidding: this is mostly a gimmick build I just created on paper out of curiosity.

Build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQQQNAW7YlMaS32ux5G92EwkCu/O6xxBzMliyZH-jAyAIMBZiBM9JQpwioxWaLiGrWmIqWdjZyLiWtMAVrB-e

Thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/necromancer/The-Dodgemancer/first#post2549074

Theme:
- Maximize access to Endurance and dodge-related abilities
- Impair the enemy with bleeds, weakness, reduced Endurance and poison

It should provide pretty much continuous access to dodging, as well as good Regeneration and Might. And…it has an almost perfect 10:1 ratio of Health:Armor so it must be OP, right?

Oh, and Asura is a must, both for Radiation Field and for the coolest dodge animation!

Stealth nerfs are the perfect fertilizer for mistrust.

I posted on your video but I will copy/paste it here as well:

I like it. Similar to something I was planning on running when I first made my necro. It’s been sitting for months and I finally leveled it. I can see the build fine. The gear not so much, even in full screen because the quality is a bit? low. What gear/runes etc are you using?

Thanks.

My first necro build… a twist on the standard WvW terrormancer.

http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-10;3kHkC0F4oJkJ0;9;5T-JJ;118A;119-48-KNH4a;1KLO_KLO_k-FqFGyWU;1VBVG0K1R2WZ_49q-Fk4R06;16R;9;9;9;9;9;4V6s5b

What I get with this build:

  • Permanent 25% run speed without using a utility slot.
  • With 25 sigil of corruption stacks, I have 1900+ condition damage.
  • 52% crit chance for bleed stacking and a bit more direct damage.
  • 1500+ toughness and over 21k hit points for WvW survivability.
  • All the normal benefits of the terromancer… 100% increased fear duration, terror damage, 90%+ bleed duration, etc.
  • Powerful life siphon

I moved the standard 20 points from death magic to blood magic, and use dagger/dagger as my secondary set while roaming / small group fighting (I switch to staff when defending / attacking towers or keeps or when in a large group).

For me, run speed is absolutely critical, and completely changes the nature of fights…especially for a ranged/kiting profession. I can’t live without it, especially in WvW. Getting to the fight before it’s too late is critical, being able to run down fleeing opponents, and just staying alive. I love life siphons because of their efficiency in a fight… 1800+ damage and a nice little heal from dagger 2, and constant small heals every time I hit. I also feel like having melee available when fighting in the open is pretty important, especially when hit with entangle or forced into close quarters. Get off a couple good hits, build some life force, immobilize and get back to range.

With sigils of earth I can build bleeds even when using melee, and with corruption on both weapon sets, I gain stacks no matter what happens in each fight.

I’m generally moving around with dagger/dagger… when a fight starts I begin with scepter/focus to CC and build conditions. I shed conditions / stun break with well of power or dagger 4, and I use my fears as often as possible. If I’m doing more 1vs1 fights, I’ll switch epidemic to blood is power.

Spectral Staff Build

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAW4djMah7VbabM8JEJFXzzEpAZUGqHwD78hA-jEDBYLRGfBggAgIAiKAO9pIasVSFRjVZDT5CQ7KyqXJ1iuIa1SBIoyI-w

Edit: oops looks like when I changed the build descrip I forgot to change the build link to go with it. That is now fixed.

This is a unconventional build, so please be forewarned. This build is a Death Shroud centric build. It leverages the staff as both a LF generation tool, aoe dmg source and dmg modifier.

Explanation Let me go over the theory with you. Look at the staff. None of its attacks really jive with power. Yet it has the best power coefficient by far for us. You really don’t need crit for any staff skill. Now look at DS. Mostly power skills, even ds5 hits hard at the end. DS benefits heavily from crit. Now you got this nifty trait that gives your 50% crit in DS. You got another nifty trait that gives you fury when you enter DS. So, 70% inherent crit just for hitting f1. So thanks to traits you don’t need to stat much precision, which frees you up to stat vitality. Which leads to the next section…

Gearing: I run all Valkyrie because you don’t need precision, but crit dmg is still very useful. Runes of the pack ties the whole thing together. The 20% swift buff gives you one button perma swiftness via S. Walk. The call of the wild procs give you extra fury time and swiftness. The precision makes sure you are close to 100% crit in DS. All of the gear has vit, which increases the amount of dmg you can soak in DS.

As for weapons its staff and dagger/focus. After practicing with this build I’ve found that in some 1v1 situations, being able to rip off boons can be invaluable.

Utilities Now lets talk about the utilities. If you look over the build you see you have all spectral utilities. You want to fight in ds form for as long as possible to maximize dps. Well thanks to the patch you can now gain lf while in ds if you have either spectral walk or armor up. If you are being attacked head on, put up armor right before going into DS. You will tank their dmg output without getting a scratch on your hp. Knowing when and how to use armor and walk is very important. There is a variety of tricks you can play with Spectral Walk alone. Play around with it.

Summary When fighting a extended fight, because you simply manufacture so much LF, you can’t be killed (not easily). This fusion of survivability and huge crits will simply overpower most builds or force them to run away. You’ve got a extensive toolbox including Lich form, 2 fears, 1 yank, 2 total cleanses, 2 stun breakers, a boon rip, and a reverse blink. Use them wisely and you can win.

EDIT After testing I found that the build simply doesn’t need condition damage. Maxing out crit damage is far more useful.

Deep Wells

http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAW3djQaV6ZaeaMcKAZGY/80DuHXcYBRFGG-jUyAocBZKCA9BmEBlzLiGbxtIasKdioa9CmHvIa1yAwuFA-w

What You Get
32000 HP …. 41000 in Lich Form
3200 Attack …. 4700 in Lich Form
2800 Armor
9% Crit …. 21% with 25 stack Perception …. 52% in Lich Form
Ground Targeted Wells so you can stay at a distance
4 Wells …. 3 seconds of Protection when a Well is cast …. Wells Siphon Health

This build was made with the condition meta in mind. HP was my first concern followed by the amount of damage I could apply (non-condition of course). With the amount of HP this build has, I didn’t find condition removal as necessary but yet we still have Well of Power to help team mates and, just in case, ourselves. I also feel comfortable with the 2800 armor, making power burst builds not so threatening. Though this build has sustained damage, I thought it could do with a little “burst”. So I added Sigil of Perception, which bumps our 9% up to 21% with full stacks. Well were chosen for utility actually for the fact that they were the most helpful when going 30 points in the Blood Magic trait line. Focused rituals was easily attainable giving this build some viability in wvwvw (or so I think).

A tidbit of info – With Scholar runes and Blood to Power minor trait, you will deal 15% more damage. With 32k hp, as long as you stay above 29k, you will get this extra damage…. and since we are mostly ranged, staying above 90% isn’t too terribly hard.

Staff is the primary weapon choice of this build. Axe and Focus are just personal choice… feel free to change them up. Sigils can be changed up as well. I liked Perception cause of the extra little crit but you could easily use Force for constant extra damge (+20% damage with scholar runes and Blood to Power trait).

Important thing is to have fun and find what works best for you.. Feel free to take what you want from this build and make it your own. PM here or in game if you have questions or just wanna chat ^^>

I’m in rampager gear 30/30/0/10/0, i have 1/2 afflicted runes 1/2 krait giving me over 100 bleed duration without food, and 2 sigils of earth on scepter/dagger i can hold 20 stacks of bleed on a boss solo(with food). Bleeds tick once a second and i do ~110 unbuffed ticks, that’s over 2k dps just in bleeds, pushing over 3k dps with auto attack and poison.

I recommend checking it out

I run a Hybrid Power / Condition Necro, with more of a focus on direct damage.

That way, when full stacks of condition have been reached, I can spread them around, and switch to my damaging weapon-set to my damage doesn’t suffer as much as if I went full Condition.

This build has the best potential when you’re in an organised group, and you’re the only one stacking conditions. However, thanks to the focus on DD, you aren’t as limited in unorganized play either, such as world bosses.

Link to the Build is here

Notes on Trait Selection

  • Usually, I’d go for Dhuumfire. With the 70% Condition Duration, Burning stays applied for around 7 seconds, meaning usually you’ll only have around 3 seconds of Burning downtime. However, this should be swapped out for Close to Death for those immune to Burning (such as Destroyers), for obvious reasons, and maybe single target fights, since the Burning is more useful when you can spread it around, and given the health-pools of bosses, 20% damage increase constant will help the fight go a little faster.
  • Reaper’s Might and Unyielding Blast ensure damage upkeep while in DS. Not to mention that Might won’t go to waste when you exit DS. However, if you don’t want to use these traits for whatever reason, I’d recommend Spiteful Talisman (more frequent Focus attacks) and putting the 10 in Blood for Dagger Mastery (more frequent blind and condition removal; more useful in builds that lean more towards Conditions that don’t make use of the Crit Damage).

Notes on Skill Selection

  • In single-target fights, Epidemic can be swapped out with Plague Signet, giving you the ability to support team-mates with passive condition removal every 3 seconds, as well as giving you another way of sending conditions to your target, or boosting the power of your heal.
  • Corrupt Boon is a utility you could take instead of Well of Suffering if you want to lean more towards the Condition side of things, as this also gives you access to a quick condition spread if timed right (Corrupt Boon > Epidemic).

Notes on Gear

As mentioned, this build leans more towards the Direct Damage side of things. However, a few alterations to gear can help you lean more towards the Conditions:

  • Change Rampager gear to Carrion.
  • Swap the Runes for 3 x Rune of the Krait and 3 x Rune of the Afflicted. These give you extra Bleeding upkeep, making it easier to stack them.
  • Change the Gems to Carrion or Rampager gems (extra crit chance for the Barbed Precision Trait)

Rotation

There isn’t a set rotation as such. However:

  • Keep your condition transfer skills and heal until after using BiP and Epidemic.
  • This build stacks Vulnerability incredibly easy (Axe Auto, Focus 4, Well of Suffering, condition transfer after Epidemic). As such, wait until 25 stacks, then keep using Axe 2 whenever it is off cooldown and you have a fair amount of bleed stacks on the target.
  • Use DS whenever available, since it’s also a good way of stacking Might and Vulnerability, as well as giving access to Torment.
Life is a journey.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.

Signet Powermancer – No Minions (no, not even a flesh golem)

Summary for those who don’t want the details:
30/0/25/15/0
Heal: Consume Conditions
Weapon Sets: Dagger + Warhorn, Axe + Focus
Utility Skills: Signet of Locust, Signet of Spite, Signet of Undeath
Elite Skills: Plague (or Charzooka!)

I soloed this to 80, and through 98% of the personal story and had a good time. Lots of life steal and vulnerability when properly traited, and good direct damage.

Details for those who want them:
Basic Theme
Do something a little different (no real condition damage, no minions, no staff), maximize Power attribute, maximize life steal, use all signets on utility bar, multiple ways to apply vulnerability, heavy use of warhorn #5 (Locust Swarm) to stack damage and life siphons with Vampiric minor trait.

Death Shroud
This build makes heavy use of Death Shroud, even though there is no real investment in it for traits or skills. Death Shroud provides great AOE damage for a powermancer and is an extra life bar for any necro. Being in DS also gives your other skills time to recharge, which is handy because this build does not have reduced recharge times for weapons, except for Axe Mastery.

Weapon Set 1: Axe, Focus
Weapon Set 2: Dagger, Warhorn

Traits
Spite: 30 – Signet Mastery, Axe Training, Close to Death. Minor traits Parasitic Bond and Death into Life provide direct healing and improve healing power, respectively.

Death Magic: 25 – Dark Armor, Death Shiver. Minor trait Deadly Strength (Master level) gives a further bonus to Power.

Blood Magic: 15 – Blood Thirst to improve Life Siphon (dagger 2), Locust Signet, and Vampiric.

Skills
#6: Consume Conditions (this build has no other way to deal with conditions, so you need this)
#7: Signet of the Locust (AOE life steal is frickin awesome against mobs, and and permanent swiftness is always nice)
#8: Signet of Power (constant power bonus plus the ability to lay massive conditions on one enemy for that Oh Noes moment)
#9: Signet of Undeath (faster life force regen and some support ability with long-distance reviving of downed comrades)
Elite: Plague form

Strategies
Against Mobs
i. Direct damage against mobs with Warhorn #5+F1 to enter DS+Tainted Shackles+Life Transfer (you will also apply AOE vulnerability while in DS). Plague form using No. 1 (Bleeds every second) is also great for softening up mobs.

Against 1 or 2 enemies
ii. Toe-to-toe melee with dagger/warhorn

Staying alive
iii. Use Life Siphon (dagger 2) and Signet of Locust for life stealing. Minor Spite trait Parasitic Bond and Vampiric give you constant proc healing without having to think about it. Plague form gives you insane bonuses to vitality and toughness, and Signet of Undeath gives you quicker life force recharge.

Against Champs, Vets, Hard hitting melee types
iv. Against hard hitting enemies use Focus and Axe to stack vulnerability from a distance, and use Spinal Shivers to slow them down. Follow up with dagger/warhorn, life siphons.

Oh Noes strategy No. One
v. Locust Swarm + Wail of Doom or Dark Pact + Plague form. Plague gives you 20 seconds of stability, plus perma-blind or perma-cripple to get away. This is also great for kiting while your buddies hack away at the monster.

Oh Noes strategy No. Two
vi. Activate Spite Signet for multiple conditions, Locust Signet for life steal, and you also get 6 stacks of might out of it from Signet Mastery.

Weaknesses
i. No stability except for when in Plague form. You will get knocked on your butt a bit. Good news is that when in DS, if you get knocked on your butt after casting Tainted Shackles or Life Transfer, you will continue to cast it while laying on your back! You also have perma-stability in Plague form.

ii. No way to deal with conditions except for using Consume Conditions. However you could swap out one of my listed signets above for Plague Signet, which would also give you more party support power.

iii. Well of Suffering would help this build do more damage, no doubt. But I wanted to do something different so I stuck with signets.

Notes
Vampiric life siphon procs on every hit. For skills like Locust Swarm (warhorn 5), Life Transfer (DS 4), and Ghastly Claws (Axe 2), this is a lot of procs. Granted, you can’t siphon health in DS, but the little bit of additional damage from the life siphon will still proc on your enemy.

Caveats
I’ve only played this character up to level 50. But so far, so good. It’s fun, does good damage to both mobs and single targets, and the multiple heal options keep me alive.

I have a sword, a dagger, and an estimated life span of 2.47 seconds.

30/25/0/0/15 spvp. Semi hybrid. The damage is obnoxious. I’m starting to like it more than 30/20/0/0/20. I think I have been heavily underestimating spiteful spirit.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAW7YjMad6xbGb07JEoH7i0AixMOmgh+Q5A-TsAgyCuI+S9l7LzXyisFNEZJyeBA

The crit rate means you get ~25% less dhuumfire procs than a rabid amulet (average of 13.8 seconds between procs instead of 11.2 seconds). Also means earth sigils aren’t really worth using. I’ve gone with battle, you could go for geomancy if you preferred.

3k power makes up for those losses, and then some.

If you’re not playing to win, don’t complain when you lose.

I’ve been thinking about making a “death shroud first and always” necro. I may have to try this build.

I have a sword, a dagger, and an estimated life span of 2.47 seconds.

A Sylvari Necro was my first character. I got to about level 40 and didn’t really know where to go with it. After playing around with other professions and PvE’ing I went back to it and came up with this…

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQUQNAnYGjMaN7Zb87JEIF9StEpAZUGqHlD88hA-jQCBYMBkCEgEBiKBMRqIaslSFRjVxATviIq2foIa1SBYuwI-e

I wanted something that would bounce between axe/dagger and death shroud attacks while transfer/eliminate conditions. I’ve only leveled to 71 so far but found it to be quite the survivor in almost all instances.

Please give your opinions/criticisms but please keep them constructive. Thanks.

I am currently using a tanky powermancer, 30/0/0/20/20, PVT, dual dagger / staff. You can see it here:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAoYWjMaV6hbGbM8JiJFfTbQP617dGlC3tOA-jwDBYLJDdRQkgIgkGI0HQ0IYZPFRjtcqIasqHY6SJV9SQ2qDwMGySG2DQZFA-e

So far, this is the necro build I had liked the most, I suppose that because of my playstyle. I can roam freely the open world (who can’t?), do my share on WvW, and I am normally the last man standing on dungeons and the like.

I want to keep the dual daggers, so please don’t kill me on that. Except that, any feedback on this build? Any ideas to make it better? Any suggestions on items or food?

A Sylvari Necro was my first character. (…) Please give your opinions/criticisms but please keep them constructive. Thanks.

.- The build doesn’t have the 9 skill.
.- You have only one spectral skill (“Spectral Armor”), but use two traits to beef it (“Spectral Atunement” and “Spectral Mastery”). Imho, is too expensive.
.- Same as above, “Signet Mastery” trait just for one signet seems a little expensive.
.- You are transfering conds, but your main attacks are power-based, and your equipment focuses on power. Is a little bit odd.

imho, your health is too low to be taking your party’s conditions, and you are lacking some extra skills to cleanse them better (like “Well of Power” skill, or “Spiteful Removal” or “Shrouded Removal” traits). And, by taking some removal skills, you are also lacking on the damage side. I should go for a side (removal and retargetting conditions, going full for Cond. Damage, Vit & Tough), or the other (full power spec).

Very nice build, imo. Very good damage output.

.- I would rather heal me with “Consume Conditions” to better cleanse my conds, but it is only a matter of tastes.
.- Since you go dual-dagger, if you change BM-V to BM-X you can remove “Signet of the Locust” and use that slot to another skill, losing only a little healing.
.- imho, you should change “Spiteful Marks” (Sp-VII) to another trait, since it seems you only have the Lich’s Marks. That seems a lil’ expensive.

pm me if you want to discuss about this…

Good luck!

This is sPvP build I decided to create after the 10th December patch.

Idea of this build was to keep stealing opponent’s health while making him always being chilled and under a huge amount of damage.

My current build for sPvP – condi damage with a bit of sustain
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQRBLRhG2IjW3e2m4G9eCYSB3eH9gYlTmSB8oD-T4AAzCqIgRNmbMDMyxsjNOYRwugTBTCeFA

This build still needs work at the moment but it is basically a condi heal build which doesn’t need heal power, it uses the “Vampiric” and “Vampiric Precision”
Basic way to use it is to use scepter for damage, the auto attacks give bleed and poision, scepter 2 and dagger 5 give bleed, 2 stacks each, this means you can keep about 11 stacks of bleed on and poison almost permanently, dagger 4 is for condi removal, very good vs other condi users and vs people who immobilize/cripple/chill (try to do it with fear, Ive had no luck with that so far, too hard to time), never really used scepter 3 skills as that’s power mainly and this a is a condi build, use dagger 4 to remove condi’s and send to enemy, it bounces 3 times this can remove 12 condi, this is a lot so don’t use it too soon or it can be wasted, dagger 5 a kittene to time as the animation is slow, try to lead your enemy as its easy to see and dodge, but if it lands you have a good advantage as their physical damage is now halved and 2 stacks of bleed. I think i covered everything for scepter dagger.
Now for the dagger war horn (you can use focus I don’t mind it is a great weapon number 5 really can hurt removing boons and chilling the 4 increases damage with all the skills so up to you) the dagger is mainly for life force and healing (1 and 2 skill, 3 to get close with war horn 5, 4 to make sure they cant do anything)best combo when fighting melee fights is to drop fear wall on you while walking backwards (try not to drop it behind you as the protection is a one off thing, walking backwards is important because it doesn’t work if you drop it directly on someone, Ive tried, many many times) when fear wall is down use dagger 2 heals for about 2k, not much but gives you a few seconds to think.
You will mainly use scepter dagger, but the dagger war horn is there as a safety net almost
Side note – the weapons as long as it has scepter in it doesn’t really matter but I like these weapons

Now the utility
Consume Conditions – great heal overall I think, the CD hurts a little but the heal from condi’s are too good to pass I think, you can try the new signet heal or well but they don’t work as well for me personally
Fear wall (or like my friends like to say “Troll wall”) – great for getting out of a tight situation, cant be rolled or blocked through, stability works though so careful. This skill helps you setup other skills(dont cripple or chill or immobilize when its down or it loses its effect) or can is some situations lock someone down for 7 sec, in pvp you want this either between you and the enemy or in small spaces, either works well as more fear the better.
Spectral Armor – this is a skill I like a lot, stun break protection and life force everything a necro needs(or at least mine) helps reduce burst damage and good for running away with, recommend using the skill when you think you will be burst down as good chance it will help you live.
Spectral walk OR Spectral grasp/Plague signet/Corrupt boon – depends what you like, corrupt boon works well on nearly any class, most classes have alot of boons normaly, so 5 of them now hurt then, this works on all boons including stability, not invisibility though, plague signet works well as a stun break and if you are vs a condi team/person it sends all condis to them (suck that condi engi’s) spectral walk good stun break, 2 of them, and gives 30 sec of swiftness, you get 1 stun break and you can reactivate it to return to original cast position, suggest move away from it as it can save your life alot. Spectral grasp, 1200 range? now its 100, drop fear wall behind and chase with dagger and war horn 5 and unless they know what they are doing they will be hurt.
Flesh Golem – knockdown and cripple, use knockdown in team fights early or in 1v1 late, after they use their dodges allows for more condi’s on them.

When I like to use death shroud is when I get stunned or about to take a lot of damage, both take good timing, once you are in death shroud, i like to use 5 first then 4, the 5 only has a 1/4 sec cast and once it is you can use other skills, which is why I use the 4 skill for extra damage, once the 5 skill ends it immobilizes for 1 sec, once it ends try to use the fear for torment damage, deals more when they are moving, I don’t normally use the 2 skill as it brings be to the opponent and this build isn’t tanky so try not to use it, try to use it as little as possible as it isn’t easy to gain life force and can be wasted easily, I didn’t take trait for 50% less life force loss because I don’t use it that often and has 7 sec recharge so i can use it little and often

I wont explain the traits as they explain them self really, Blood magic for healing, Curses for condi damage, Soul reaping for death shroud / surviving

Runes are for poison and bleed, or you can use what you want, runes of grove and work well in 1v1 but up to you that one as well, I don’t see a great deal in letting you choose long as its either condi damage/duration or defensive.

I will try to update this often as I can but any feed back would be great, the build is still being worked on so is not perfect, yet.

My necro name in game is Monzetsu, im on blackgate.
Also after previewing this it’s massive, sorry about the length but it encompasses nearly everything I think.
Yea sorry it is really too big but would be a shame to cut anything out incase there is a flaw somewhere

PS – forgot to mention the amulet, very important its the Rabid amulet, gives precession for healing and a bit more damage, condi for a lot more damage damage and toughness to live a little longer, I really don’t recommend any other amulet or jewle

Note: I posted this somewhere else before I noticed this thread…oops.

Hey guys, I just wanted to get some input on the hybridmancer I made. It’s condition oriented with some celestial so it has a little extra kick, but with decent defense. It’s a 0-30-10-0-30 build.

Here’s the link: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vQEQNAW7Yjc00ab1N+2wfbCRqw1E9gYCmkh6B8kOfIA-zQBBYjRORtIasVTFRjVdDTHjIqGA-e

Outline:
-semi-high condition damage (1300+)
-decent defense (2650 armor)
-low power (1150)
-about 50% crit-chance
-about 60% crit-damage

Goals/Purposes:
I wanted a hybridmancer with scepter and staff, (mostly condition damage), but a bit of back up crit damage so I can pop DS and actually do some damage with life blast, etc. It also has a bit more armor than other hybrids I’ve seen, so it can take a bit more damage.

Basically, my plan is to mainly spam conditions with the scepter, use DS as a back-up and do some damage while hitting on-crit bleeds, and then utilize terror so I can do some extra damage with fear. However, the one thing I’m stuck on is whether to go spite for dhuumfire/cond duration, or curses for hemophelia/scepter duration/terror.

So, what do you guys think? Is this alright, or should I just go full condi?

Good day my brothers and sisters.

I would like to share my Shroud of might (PvE)

Traits: 6.2.00.6
Spite: VI – X – XII
Curses: V or IV
Soul Reaping: II – VI – XII

Equipment:
Berserker’s armour, trinkets, and weapons. (can mix in assassin’s as needed for 50% crit)
Runes of Strength (Don’t forget your water breather)

Staff Sigil of force / Sigil of Energy
Dagger Sigil of Force
Focus Sigil of Strength

Traits
Blood is Power
Well of Suffering
Well of Corruption
Flesh Golem as needed/required

Usage
I usually precast Blood is Power before a fight. please note if you’re running with an organised group. Try to save your wells/Staff#3 until you feel fire fields are on cooldown. Make use of Putrid mark to help blast fire fields. Drop Well of Suffering, Reaper’s Touch, and Dagger Auto attack to build Sigil of Strength charges. then proceed into Death Shroud for the butter of this build, Life Blast. Cast as much as you want. I usually spam LB 5-7 times depending on the situation. before Leaving DS cast #5 Tainted Shackled for a bit of spike on your recast of Well of Suffering, Reaper’s Touch, and blood is power. Swap to Staff when you need it for more control in AoE situations. With this rotation it is possible to keep 20+ might up with ease, and vulnerability. I am not privy to how much vulnerability you can keep on bosses. I am too focused on my might and rotation

The WvW Roaming or Spvp build is the same, save for Soul Reaping Major ‘X’ Soul Marks for better LF gains. And of course Knights/Soldiers using Runes of Speed. Utilities Spectral Walk, Corrupt Boon, Flesh wurm, and Flesh Golem.

If I missed anything, please mention bellow.

Hey all, didn’t bother to read if this one’s been posted already but figured I’d post the build I’ve been tinkering and modifying over time to turn it into the universally functional setup it is today:

Necrobruiser!

This works EXTREMELY well for me in PvE and WvW zerging, and thus far it seems pretty good at PvP dueling (I’m rediculously slow with my skills, so I do still tend to die when I’m up against skilled thieves or multiple opponents solo but at the very least I’ve held onto a capture point for a couple minutes.)

EQUIPMENT:
Thus far I have Knight’s and Emerald EVERYTHING. Except my backpack, which is still a rare power/toughness/vitality piece. Basically I stack power, toughness, and crit chance as much as I can with my equipment.

For armor runes, I have five superior runes of the Ranger and one of the Thief, solely for the purpose of more crit chance and a little more crit damage.

For weapons, I mainly use Axe/Warhorn and my secondary set is Dagger/Dagger. On both sets I have one sigil of accuracy and one sigil of blood.

TRAITS:
I go 0/4/6/4/0, giving me plenty of extra crit chance, toughness, and vitality.

In Curses I take IV and X for major traits, giving me extra duration on spectral armor and causing my death shroud to bleed and weaken enemies when I activate it.

In Death Magic I take VI, IX, and XIII for major traits. I lose a condition when entering death shroud, then constantly apply vulnerability to nearby enemies and regen health while death shroud is active.

In Blood Magic I take V and IX for major traits, causing my crits to siphon health and causing my death shroud to area heal when I turn it off.

UTILITY:
My heal skill is Consume Conditions, for obvious reasons. I’m up front and soaking up conditions a lot, and this is a HUGE heal when you’re up against condition spammers.

My utility skills are Signet of the Locust, Well of Power, and Spectral Armor. The Signet gives me a small emergency heal and improves my mobility, Well of Power is my main support/condition removal/stability skill, and Spectral Armor is my defensive buff that I activate immediately after prolonged use of Death Shroud to recharge my life force more quickly.

My Elite is Flesh Golem, because it’s the only one that isn’t a bloody transform and also I don’t get to use racials in PvP for some reason. When I’m in PvE or WvW, I’m a human, so I use Reaper of Grenth for the area chill and poison.

THE WOMBO COMBO:
When playing against a large group of enemies in PvE or fighting in a zerg in WvW, this build excels. My favorite and most satisfying combo is Warhorn 5 (locust swarm) → Reaper of Grenth → Death Shroud 5 (tainted shackles) → Death Shroud 4 (life transfer) → Axe 3 (Unholy Feast). When up against big groups of enemies, this can deal a lot of damage very quickly and, if you’re playing in a zerg, has the potential to hit more than the normal 5 enemy AoE limit (provided the things you’re life draining die in the middle of your combo and there’s still more stuff around) and usually results in TONS of drops.

ANYWHO:
Just thought I’d share this build. If you have any questions or comments, let me know!

Terrormancers are back with a vengance.

Rabid amulet, Runes of the Nightmare
Scepter/Dagger and Staff. Sigils to taste
Consume Conditions, Corrupt Boon, Spectral Wall, Spectral Armor, Flesh Golem (elite can change to taste)

Traits:
0/6/4/0/4
Weakening Shroud, Terror, Path of Corruption
Staff Master, Reaper’s Protection
Spectral Mastery, Master of Terror

Soooooooo much Fear. Stability? Unless you have it super-well covered, it’s now Fear. CC me? Feared. Hit me? Feared. I feel like Fearing you? Feared. Run toward me? Feared.

Life Blast focused Glass Cannon – 6 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 6

Howdy!

made this build to inflict as much dmg as possible with death shroud and particularly with life blast. It uses power, critical damage, might, burning and vulnerable to enhance the life blast damage as much as possible. If you’re able to line up your foes the blast hits every one due to its piercing ability.

As you barely have any survival skills like in other builds, it is highly recommend to show good movement. Range isn’t the best choice due to the increased damage of the life blast in short range. and max dmg is what we’re aiming at. After all, you’re a necro ^^ death shroud with its 2nd life bar feature is your ally.

The key is to max power and critical damage to cause as much damage as possible with the life blast. Critical hit chance is negligible. With a fairly suitable berserker equipment you’ll come to 40 % crit chance, with is 90 % in death shroud which is perfectly good for a sufficiently large number of critical hits.

This build enables me to do at least 4k dmg with every auto shot in death shroud. (usuallly 6-12k in WvW with buff food, 25 stacks of blood lust and 5 stacks of applied strength depending on the enemies toughness.

…would love to read your opinion on my build.

Theorycrafted and freaking awesome! Competes with every class and conquers most. Boon removal for any boon lovers, condi swap for not just cleansing, but also TRANSFERS condis! (awesome). Might on signet usage, and awesome damage output.
Great survivability, I am very pleased with this build.

If anyone gets the jump on you, spectral armor will activate at 50% giving you the life-force you need to survive, plague signet will give you instant condition removal AND break stun AND grant might. Need to do even MORE damage? Signet of vampirism gives an awesome spike in damage and will add to your already healing hits. Oh they stealth? Switch to secondary, get more might, and bam, easy access to aoe attacks before resorting to death shroud.

Tired of people running? Spectral grasp ya’ll >:3 Stability? not with spinal shivers, which is also traited to activate when attacking and enemy below 50% – goodbye boons.

Not sure how I can break it down any further, everything else can be learned through practice of the build. Good luck to all ya’ll necro’s! Give me a shout if you see me in PvP (Ambitious Ashley)

Lastly, perfectly viable for PvE (dungeons) survivability is just dandy, and dps is plenty acceptable
