I can’t vouch for this thing’s authenticity, but it certainly looks interesting. I like nearly everything a lot, though the Corrupt Boon nerf makes me sadpanda.

Here’s the relevant parts:

Torment: Added a new Condition called Torment. This does damage every second (75% of a bleed), and double damage to foes that are moving(150% of a bleed). Stacks intensity.

Necromancer

Putrid Curse: Increased Poison duration from 2s to 4s.
Necrotic Bite: Increased Life force gain from 4 to 6.
Corrupt Boon: Reduced the maximum amount of boons converted to 5.
Spectral Wall: Normalized the amount of protection gained to 7s for allies. Replaced the Vulnerability with a 1s fear when enemies try to cross the wall. Added 4% life force gain on hit.
Wail of Doom: Added an unblockable skill fact.
Well of Power: This ability now breaks stuns. Added 1s of stability. Cooldown reduced to 50 seconds.
Well of Corruption: Reduced cooldown to 40 seconds.
Well of Darkness: Reduced cooldown to 50 seconds.
Well of Suffering: Reduced cooldown to 35 seconds.
Unholy Feast: This ability now removes 1 boon from each target hit.
Spectral Armor: Reduced the recharge to 60s.
Signet of Spite: Now applies 2 stacks of bleeding for 10s, blind for 5s, Cripple for 10s, Poison for 10s, 5 stacks of vulnerability for 10s, and weakness for 10s. Recharge reduced to 60s.
Death Shroud: No longer removes the Spectral Armor buff.
Death Shroud: No longer removes the Spectral Walk buff.
Signet of Undeath: Increased cast time to 3s.
Locust Swarm: Increased the radius to 210. Increased animation size to better reflect it’s attack area.
Grim Specter: This ability can now be cast while moving.
Rigor Mortis: This ability is now instant.
Necrotic Grasp: Increased projectile velocity by 10%.
Consume Conditions: This skill now consumes Torment.
Putrid Mark: This ability will now transfer Blind to enemies it strikes, instead of missing.
Deathly Swarm: Increased projectile velocity by 30%.
Crimson Tide – Bleed duration 5s – 6s
Deadly catch – Cripple duration 3s – 6 s
Wicked spiral – Vuln duration 6s – 10s per hit
Deadly feast: Duration of feast, 6s – 8s
Death shroud: New ability #5 – Dark Binding: You tether all enemies within a 600 range, constantly dealing Torment to them over time. At the end of the cast, Dark Binding immobilizes all affected enemies still within the radius.
Underwater life blast: Decreased cast time and reduced aftercast
Bone Fiend and Shadow Fiend now regenerate outside of combat.
Ghastly Claws: Increased Life Force gain from 8 to 10.
Feast of Corruption: Increased Life Force gain from 2/condition to 3/condition.
Necrotic Grasp: Increased Life Force gain from 3 to 4.
Shadow Fiend Haunt: Blind Duration increased to 5s.
Plague: Reduced weakness duration to 1 second.
Well of Corruption: Reduced the duration of weakness when corrupting might to 5 seconds.
Corrupt Boon: Reduced the duration of weakness when corrupting might to 5 seconds.
Feast: Reduced weakness duration to 3 seconds.
Enfeebling Blood: Reduced weakness duration to 6 seconds.
Dark Path: Fixed a bug where the chill duration did not match the tooltip..
Reaper’s Touch: Fixed a bug so that it now applies the Vulnerability before the damage. Updated the tooltip to state the correct amount of Vulnerability.
Doom: This ability now lists the damage it deals to enemy targets.
Grim Specter: This skill is now unblockable.

Blood Magic
Dagger Mastery: This trait now grants a 20% recharge reduction.
Curses
Withering Precision: You apply 5 seconds of weakness on critical hits. This effect can only occur once every 20 seconds.

Death Magic
Death Shiver: Vulnerability applied every 3 seconds while in Death Shroud has been increased to 3 stacks for 10 seconds, up from 1 stack.
Death Nova: Minions now deal damage when death nova triggers.

Soul Reaping
Speed of Shadows: This trait now increases movement speed by 25% while in death shroud.
Decaying Swarm: This trait has been removed.
Near to Death: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
New Grandmaster trait – Deathly Perception: You have a 50% greater critical chance while in Death Shroud.

Spite
Signet Power: This trait has been merged with Signet Mastery.
Signet Mastery: This trait now recharges signets 20% faster and grants 3 stacks of might for 10 seconds on signet use.
Axe Training: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
New Grandmaster trait – Dhuumfire: Inflict burning to opponents for 4 seconds on critical hit. This effect can only occur once every 10 seconds.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.

If this is actually true, then it sounds quite good for now. I just hoped torment would be available in other ways then “just” DS 5, but still.
I just miss three things:

1. No changes for Life Siphon
2. No comment on regeneration or healing while in DS
3. No changes on the other 4 DS skills (or did I miss this?). These seem still very Power based.

Another thing is is HP regen for the worm while being out of combat? And maybe a way to make MM viable in dungeons/WvW without breaking it in PvP. I hoped for something like a maximum of 20% damage at a time on minion with the more hp trait but well, one should not ask for too much.

But I guess these are fake or not yet complete…

There’s no way they were going to give us BOTH a bunch more Life Force AND a bunch more sustain in the same patch. They almost certainly would’ve gotten the tuning wrong and had to re-nerf one or the other, which is the very sort of whack-a-mole they’ve been adamant about avoiding.

One change I find particularly interesting is the lowering of Near to Death to being a Master trait. This means that with enough Boon Duration, a Necro could take both Near to Death as well as Foot in the Grave to get potentially perma-Stability, or close to it. Stuns, what are those?

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.

There was no love for aoe on minions in those fake notes, or the merging of Greater Marks. I’m pretty sure greater marks won’t make it to live.

Also, how it is possible that Death Shroud does not cancel Spectal Effects?
That means that if you enter in Death Shroud with Spectral Armor, the more you take damage, the more your Life Force raises making anyone with this combo unkillable.

Spectral Wall fear on pass? Man, this sounds like “YOU SHALL NOT PASS”. With Life Force too!

Also, where are the changes to Corrosive Poison Cloud? That utility is capable to harm the damage output to a whole team…

Another proof those are fake.
In case those patch notes are real, well… Necromancer is going to be a beast again.

I can’t handle these. The notes overall actually look really legit, but still miss a few things I was desperately hoping for, so I’m not sure if I even want them to be true or false. Ugh. Now I really need that official announcement, and I’ve been kind of wanting it for a week and a half already.

I’m skeptical of these patch notes.
A lot of stuff makes sense and some others are odd, especially when you include other classes…
Spectral boons not being removed would be the closest thing to invulnerability we can get and combining them with the new DS5 skill would make some kamikaze Necro squads in WvW.
I now really hope these are real.

EDIT- I also refuse to believe that reanimator and protection of the horde actually got by in a major trait rebalancing.

Attrition – A pretty name for taking longer than anyone else to kill something.

Okay so while I think “Dhuumfire” feels like a really fake name (Dhuum is barely mentioned in GW2, and never in a light that would make the player want to align themselves with him) I have a comment about the Dark Binding ability outlined there: they had to add an underwater DS5 as well.

This actually makes me believe them a little bit. If someone is leaking an in-house change log it’s not going to be perfect. Some items might be outdated or changed. If someone was to make a fake list after reading the announcement wouldn’t they use the name in the announcement?

Anyway, some of these do seem too good to be true and the new DS5 sounds like garbage. I hope they are indeed fake.

50% crit chance while in DS ?
Well of power stun breaker and stability ( pr tick or only once for 1sec ? )
Spectral wall chokepoint blocker supreme!
4sec burning or 5 sec+ since its the gm trait but no way that is happening.

I wonder if anyone else besides me realizes that Dhuum’s magic is far older then the bloodstones and that it would be impossible for any of the 5 races to gain access to his magic without being completely corrupted by his presence.

I’d use Dhuumfire over Close to Death in my Facemelter build, for sure. Any hybrid build would get good use out of it.

Honestly, looking at their track record so far, I feel like these notes are too good overall to be believable. Would really love to eat crow on this one because the game needs a class patch like this, but to date they haven’t really shown they’re capable of it.

These notes also refer to the new DS #5 skill by a different name than it was referred to in today’s official blog post.

Mixed feelings on this… I like what I see for the most part, but Spectral Wall gets a pretty massive nerf if this leak is accurate. The 2 seconds of protection is nice, but trading 10 stacks of vulnerability for a 1 sec fear is pretty drastic IMO. Highly underrated skill as it is currently.

The list reads too good to be true although it seems too detailed to be a prank. It should be a huge bump in capability for Necromancers so I am trying not to get my hopes up. I suspect other professions will get improvements, too, though, so the net effect may be less than it appears in WvWvW.

Finally got a boost to Mistfire wolf, though.

I want to remain highly skeptical on these notes as there just too kitten good but if they are true WvW power well builds are going to become insane backliners.

  • Near to Death: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
  • New Grandmaster trait – Deathly Perception: You have a 50% greater critical chance while in Death Shroud.
  • Axe Training: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.

My main take-aways from the notes are:

  • With some kind of Terror hybrid build, Spectral Wall will become a monster.
  • 2 major water, 2 superior water, 2 superior monk, 30 blood & 30 soul reaping = perma-stability?
  • Spectral walk, armour & im assuming 15 trait armour in DS = unburstable?
  • Axe 3 removing 1 boon off 5 targets.
  • 100% critical chance DS-1’s to the face.
  • Axe 20% more damage + 20% more damage.

Not buying it. Some of these changes may in fact turn out to be real, but they don’t mention siphoning at all; something that was explicitly mentioned as needing work. If this clip is a portion of what may may be included in the patch then good, but it looks to me to be far from the complete text.

As I said, if these are true, we will become enormously overpowered to the extent that I’d be forced to be screaming for nerfs after I solo 6 Beastmaster Rangers and a Phantasmal Mesmer. Without an amulet.

If true once this patch hits minion masters will become completely obsolete ( yes, I know, I’m foolishly implying they already weren’t ) in favor of generic DPS builds. We’re no longer necromancers, we’re just death themed DPS casters. We might as well be hurling fireballs at this point. Oh wait, we are going to do be doing just that.
