Hello forum,
I have a question about this trait. I’m not sure but is the main purpose of this trait change the normal disable in a fear so you still get the disable but, at least, move in the opposite direction of the attacker?

Or did I misunderstand?

Does this trait change the duration of the original disable? Fear usually have 1sec of cooldown but af far as I’ve seen any knockback last much longer.

This trait seems very cool since many disables have the purpose to stuck you in a well or mark, if you fear away it’s a great advantage, in the middle of a disadvantage. Isn’t it?

Reaper’s Protection applies fear to enemies in a small area of effect around yourself when you’re disabled.

“… nearby foes fear you” is an accurate description of the effect. David fears Joe means that David harbors fear towards Joe, not that David scares Joe, which is what you seem to think.

I realize my English need a lot of of training but “David fear Joe” isn’t A towards B?
In the sentence A is Attacker and B is You. For me it’s still that enemies apply fear to me.
Or it should be “A fears B”? And “fear” is not a verb, isn’t?
Please, correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say, but as I said before: “… nearby foes fear you” is an accurate description of the effect. I suppose fear can be used as you suggest, but I’ve never seen it; instead I would use scare, or frighten if I wanted to describe that the nearby foes “applied fear” to me.

In English, “to fear” means “to be afraid of” something.

In this example, " X fears Y," means “X is afraid of Y.”

If you wanted it to work the other way, you would need to use “scare.”

In this example, “X scares Y,” means “Y fears X,” or “Y is afraid of X.”

Your confusion comes from the fact that people have been using the phrase “to fear someone” with the meaning of “to use a fear causing ability on someone” which is more of an MMO slang than the actual meaning of the word.

Since fear is a spell, I could see how the phrase ‘nearby foes fear you’ could be interpreted as ‘nearby foes cast fear on you’

Grammatically it works either way. The intended context is ‘nearby foes are afraid of you’.

Thinking about the word it makes perfect sense. "Fear" is not a verb. In my language (Italian) you cannot use the word "fear" (it: "paura" or "terrore") as verb, the closest verb may be "terrorize". "Someone terrorize you" (or it’s "terrify"?).
I don’t like slang nor game’s terminology but for someone not born anglophone, at least for my language, it’s more intuitive verbalize the word since, as Corpus pointed, Fear is a spell and a condition (and the description must use terminology otherwise it become very hard understand those abilities). Also the tooltip is more deceptive since the trait (correct me if I’m wrong) create an AOE fear spell around you, with a limited range. I didn’t know this before reading about this trait in the sticky thread of necromancer’s bugs.

Thank you for clarification.
