I’m just here to say that the Reanimator Trait in the deathmagic tree is horrible.

It’s more of an disadvantage than any help. I play my necro without minions but needed to skill the deathmagic tree for staff traits. The problem is that this unwanted jagged horror spawns all the time, pulls mobs i don’t want to pull and destroys the style of my (non minionmaster) necro.

Well, i thought i can live with that but yesterday i was in Arah. You know, the dungeon with the beloved Giganticus Lupicus. Spawning a kitten useless minion at this encounter wich gives Lupicus the possibility to spawn his grub directly in front of him is not a good thing.

So.. if you won’t change this crap trait, than please give us the chance to opt out of the minor traits because I would rather get no minor trait at all than this one.
The best solution would be to split the traits from the attributes and schools at all, but this is something i will never see i guess.

The trait is completely useless even for MM specs. It summons a minion that lasts like 5-8 seconds, does almost no damage and dies right away. In fact it’s half dead by the time the graphic for the summoning is done. The only thing it does go well with is the death nova trait, but I really don’t like having a minor trait’s usefulness be 100% dependent on a major trait we may or may not use.

I think the Jagged Horror should be more time alive. The actual time is kind ridiculous. In sPvP for example, you kill some enemy, walk for 10~15 sec and pff, your minion died. Come on, u even could take some advantage from him -_-

Agreed. We see this little rat thing pop out of the ground, and despite all of the ones I’ve seen rushing headlong into the fight, Only one in my entire time playing a necro has actually made an attack. And it only got to make on attack before its health degeneration wiped it from existence.

One way of handling how terrible this is would be to not have a degeneration effect, but limit us to only having one jagged horror at a time; you know, as per standard among necrominions. As it is right now, it simply dies so fast that it’s honestly and truly completely useless.

Agreed.

I agree.
I temporarily used this trait when I hadn’t unlocked the last trait level yet, and it was a bad time.

The trait mostly got me into trouble and usually spawned when it was the least useful…
Even when the minion spawned when it could have been useful, it just right-out died or was slain in one strike.

It’s one reason I’ve made the desicion to stay away from the deathmagic tree.

You were present for all 1001 of these threads, not everyone else was though. On another note if there are so many threads about this one subject, it just goes to show how absolutely horrid it really is – it still hasn’t changed and until they change it there will continue to be threads on this.

I don’t think the minor trait should change really, I do however think the jagged horrors should get a complete reworking, with their own unique look instead of a copy paste of another minion we already have to also working differently – aka not degenerating health.

It because necros are op. After all we have to give Giganticus Lupicus a chance to survive. It needs all the extra toughness and Power it can get. Remember to tell your jagged horrors to bring extra grubs when you start that fight. /sarc off

necros: the only class to get weaker the more points you put into your traits

The trait would be so much better if the jagged horrors did not have degen and were capped at 5.

Tho minions overall would be better if they benefitted from our stats and the AI was reworked.

Was going to make a post about how bad this trait is but decided to do a search instead and found this topic. This minor trait is surely in the running for worst in the game. That little guy it summons doesn’t even live long enough to be a distraction let alone do some damage. It’d be ok if it were a major trait (not really) since then we wouldn’t have to take it. As it is if we want the staff traits we’re loaded with this worthless little guy.

Reanimator looks like a skill based on trying to either eliminate downtime or give you an edge in combat. Here’s my suggestion for Reanimator:

“When you lose a minion in combat, it is instantly resummoned. This effect cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds”.
