Barely noticeable.
I’m not sure what to think…
You don’t have to master the Deathshroud anymore, the game does it for you.
I think I should remove this quote given the recent developement.

I’ve had it officially. It was awful. Anet, I’m out.
So we can res and stomp in ds now thats nice, but basically nothing else of note.
minor axe buff
minor spectral armor buff
no stability, vigor, aegis, invuln, damage avoidance, or sustain
or did i miss something
I really dont get it. These dont help our sustain at all. We got more DS %, but what with all the traits that interfere with DS? What with all the broken and useless utility skills as well as traits? Siphons? Seriously?
Link, anyone?

the ds revive and stomp and dagger cleave were good
still slow focus bait
they added passive ds
good night sweet prince
It seems clear to me little to no feedback was really taken into account with those changes aside from the screams of PVP and lich bombing.
The QOL for Axe/Horn is nice, or really X/Horn, but I don’t really think that is enough to make me come screaming back into game with a breath of fresh air.
Really expected a rework or changes to siphoning… to provide more bust survival. Ah well… I didn’t get my hopes up.
At least they fixed blood magic! oh wait… two years later we have a useless traitline
As a necro, happy for the DS interaction, it was a really essential thing to do finaly and of course the extra swiftness seems cool too (using warhorn in WvW), but that’s it. Kind of semi-happy right now.
Nothing really done on the condition side, so I’m still waiting to make condi classes somewhat viable for PvE and completely split the game modes. I guess these changes are okay for PvP, but really not helping in PvE so far.
Hope something happens on that field soon.
I mean it’s not only for necros, it should be really a general change to split PvP/PvE once and for all…
Still feeling like the middle stepchild of GW2 classes as a necro.
no siphon buff, no heals in DS gg
Necro changes in four words…
no siphon buff, no heals in DS gg
I dont think we will ever get heals in Ds apart from unholy snactuary but a buff to bloodmagic is nessesery…
These are not all the changes, just the ones they thought were relevant for feedback. It is very important to note that they do not preview every single number change, only some of them. The changes were fine. Were they great? Will we suddenly be top tier everywhere? No, but they were entirely reasonable changes. Frankly my only disappointment was that (as far as I saw) they didn’t nerf reaper’s prot/nightmare runes.
“your utility skills have been updated to provide more survivability over time.”
Bit misleading considering it was just one cool down reduction.

btw…I still need a reflect on spectral skills..

What really irks me is that we didn’t even get the cast time reduction for channelled skills that pretty much EVERY OTHER CLASS recieved.
So we still take around one second per one attack for evertything except AA, meanwhile every other class has their attack speeds increased……
Guardian, already one of the most powerful and most played classes, get’s more buffs, more damage, more heals and extra stability…..

That’s what gets me, and the reason why I’m so disappointed. This whole game could have benefited from a serious rework of conditions and stacking in pve. It’s one of the biggest complaints about the class—that power builds will usually be better just because of the terrible condition mechanics of this game. I really wish ANET would say something about this.
It was pretty meh. And power necros will be a bit harder to manage without lich being able to one shot as easily. I mean the cleave is nice… but not nice enough…
I like the shroudrez/stomps!
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..

minor axe buff
Axe is the most underrated weapon in the Necro’s cache. Seriously, one good combo and you can 100 to 0 people sometimes.
And how can you not love the Rez and Stomp in DS? That’s game changing stuff (for PvP that is).

Sorry to say I don’t buy it…. every single patch since this game started that has been the comment they make.
“Oh these are just high level….. Just those we thought were noteworthy…. Just the ones we wanted to highlight”. And at the end of the patch day, they are pretty much the only ones we get.
If the remaining changes are so minor they think they don’t need feedback, or so major they don’t care about our feedback, I would not be pleased either way.
I think the really important question you should ask yourself is: With 5 months since the last features patch, is this the kind of balance you were expecting? Is this the kind of movement within the class you were hoping for? Does this really change any of our underlying weaknesses, or provide us any new avenues for change?
I moved on a while back, but I was hoping for more from this patch to rekindle my spirit. This wasn’kitten

I’m pretty sure bloodmagic changes and cast times on weapon skills would be important enough for feedback. A ten second reduction on a 60 second skill…..not so much.
Í like the new staff ability alot tho… when u press #5 instead of AoE Fear we now get a PoP-up Msg that says “kittend by Anet” on the screen
Servant of Dhuum
Wait.. is this Blizzard? Only making class changes that suit PvP and not PvE? Oh, it’s ANet… please don’t go down that road.

kitten, the only thing I wanted to know is if they will at least revert scepter/staff 2 change in pvp. Or add torment to scepter 2 or 3. They didn’t. Only freaking meaningless minor changes! Lol unholy sanctuary. Why do I love this class…
Where is the increased survivability? THe change to Unholy Sanc?? Bah. I thought they would at least VISIT the Blood Magic trait line…. And the change to SoV? It is still one of the skills in the game I have never bothered to slot and will remain that way so long as it has an icd.
0 sustain in patch if I heard right.. Med guard sounding sweet right now

At least Blizzard tends to change something with patches.

They shouldn’t nerf Rune of the Nightmare based on one profession and Reaper’s Protection can’t be changed alone. If this passive is going to go through some change, it won’t be the only passive that will undergo some change.
Maybe theyre treating us like Ralphie and we will get our “Red Rider BB Guns” but not know about it till we open up our Patch notes on patchmas morning
Why do I like this class too much to switch to a warrior… -.-
I didn’t quite get what Karl said about Unholy Sanctuary: what did he mean when he said it will “bypass its own cooldown”?
I love it, we basically get two completely reasonable nerfs, are still completely viable in every way that we were before… and people are mad because it wasn’t enough. What, did you expect them to magically make us good in PvE? That won’t happen without massive changes that are beyond the scope of normal patches. New builds for PvP? Not gonna happen without new content.
Everything is the same, but with some QoL changes. If you want big sweeping changes you might as well play Wildstar until an expansion comes out.
I didn’t quite get what Karl said about Unholy Sanctuary: what did he mean when he said it will “bypass its own cooldown”?
Means if your deathshroud is on cooldown, it will still trigger deathshroud (assuming you have life force) once you take lethal damage.
I really at least expected siphoning to get some love in order to improve our ‘attrition’ type sustain. Seriously, all they felt that was needed was to increase Signet of Vampirism by 1 second? That’s our new and improved level of sustain?
Maybe by attrition they mean how long we will hold out being Necros at all.
So we can res and stomp in ds now thats nice, but basically nothing else of note.

Its nice dont get me wrong having ds to res will help alot, stomping will be the same problems- no stability.
Our biggest buff comes in the form of them nerfing the other classes, imo.
Even though I was hoping for more team interaction possibilities (read combo fields/finishers), I’m ok with these rather underwhelming changes. After the whole dhuumfire fiasco, I’m happy we don’t get stuff that makes people want to hop over to our class.
Unholy sanctuary is still useless, death shroud interact should’ve been there from the start (although it is already possible to do so when you enter deathshroud), the cast time on corrupt boon is good for both our enemies and ourselves (stow weapon/cancel cast on random dodges), and dagger #1 cleave is good. The lich form change to how it scales in power was needed as well.
It’s sort of a bittersweet feeling. We didn’t really get anything exciting, but at the same time that’s not so bad either I guess.

Yeah im the same its the only class i enjoy playing.

The glorious buff to SoV was great? I thought it would be a joke at first sight.
The buff to unholy sanctuary is also so very pointless, we dont get much for either healing power or lifeforce gain trough deathmagic. Yet the only non Minion-related GM trait is based on these 2 things.
They are shoving more and more power and sustain into deathshroud, completly ignoring siphons or heals. The only sustain option for the necro is DS, if condi builds want to sustain well, they have to DS. Which cripples their DPS a lot if they use it to reduce damage, up to a point where the enemy can simply outheal it. Our DPS flattens out while we “sustain”.
I think thats rather dramatic and holding the necro back in so many ways. I cant build a defensive sustainish condi build, my main defense cripples my DPS, i cant build a tanky build unless i go for minions, because if i invest my traits for the defensive, i dont do reasonable damage or group support. I can either go full burst condi, or a lifeforce heavy power crit build. Following this direction further limits our viable builds, because the other classes keep on getting more options, that work based on the class design.
I might be wrong on some points, but the direction they are taking this is not good at all from a calm point of view.
And how can you not love the Rez and Stomp in DS? That’s game changing stuff (for PvP that is).
You could already do this if you timed the actions together.. they just made it easier.

There is no way I would take this (grandmaster) trait. If I know I’m going to die, the last thing I want to do is start the next fight building up life force that I could have saved.

And another patch will go through without any meaningful changes to this profession. Awesome. Whoop-de-doo…we get cleave on dagger and now our DS will activate itself occasionally. We get the ability to do what everyone else can while in DS except use our heal. Why do I even bother with this profession?
We got the rock, we always get the rock.

Oh right, thanks. I thought he meant THE TRAIT’S cooldown.
Correct me if im wrong but they actually said they were going to improve our sustain. Like actually do something.
A way outside of all the normal options that they dont want us to have and they have done nothing.
So, “improved survivability over time with weapon and utility skills” was just a 10 sec reduction on spectral armor. Should I mention the extra sec of siphon on the signet of vampirism activation ? Bwahahaha.
And that auto DS when health goes below 1… It really shows that our skill ceiling is way too high and needs to be dumbed down, right ?
