Quick head’s-up: Today’s developer livestream is gonna be on Necro PvE play, and it starts is about 5 minutes!

Btw, after his comment about Flesh Golem I started testing. Turns out every minion damage, whether it is via their auto attack or through their active ability, all of them proc siphon. Also they can proc AoE, meaning Putrid Explosion hitting one person heals for 114 (with bloodthirst), but if it hits five it heals for 570. Charge works the same way, every time it deals damage to something it procs.
I thought that was general knowledge? In any case, flesh golem charge against something in wall gives you so many thousands of hp per enemy.
I had a vague idea, just didn’t realize it triggered for Putrid Explosion, Haunt, and Charge like it does.
Confirmed, necros are getting shouts on the next patch.

7:15 Use spectral wall and spectral armor to get lifeforce back quick? :o dont the 2 kinda uhm work against eachother one prevents enemy from hitting you other you want the enemy to hit you ? and how does spectral wall give lifeforce ( ignoring the trait for on use ).
Not sure if that guy ever played necro or just theory crafting after watching other players using their build.

You don’t need the trait Spectral Wall does give you life force for every enemy that touches it. Test it yourself and be amazed. It isn’t alot of life force if it is just 1 person but since wall ignores the 5 person limit it can fill up fast if multiple people hit it.

Hmmm at first I looked at this and said waaa? +6 condition damage is terrible but 6%!!!
2 for 12% Ugh must blow money for science? I suppose so!

Just an fyi, they probably won’t stack, in the same way that +5% damage doesn’t stack with itself.
I think he meant to say +6% condition duration because that is what it does same as sigil of malice.
Or it is suppose to be +6% condition damage and they haven’t fixed it yet and he has the update which probably makes more sense because 2 sigils with different names with the same effect doesn’t really make sense.
Keep one of these in my bank I think if it is +6% condition damage then for my self that is 91 condition damage.

Well you clearly see him hovering over it (where it says condition damage) and he evens goes so far as to say that the 6 condition damage is wrong and that it should be 6% condition damage. This (tooltip missed a %, then they ‘fixed’ it by adding the % but messing up the damage part) would make a lot more sense than them adding 2 exactly the same sigils in the same patch… (Yeah, there’s sanctuary = conjuration as well, but that’s hardly normal either.)

Almost switched it off in the first few seconds when his first recommendation was clerics gear…but yeah not much here for vet pve necromancer, and his builds definitely seem to be open world focused rather than dungeon focused. But it terms of a very basic introduction to some synergies between traits and skills, its not so bad.

So wait… is bursting suppose to give 6% condition damage? I thought the running theory was that it had something to do with crit damage.
While it wouldn’t sound so amazing, for bleeds it could easily be the equivalent of 180 condition damage. Consider a 150 point bleed that would be bumped up to a 159 bleed. That is 9 times 20 =180 condition damage.
Extra 50 damage on burns, extra 70ish damage on terror.
Yeah I would use that over the duration one for sure.

This is what I’ve taken from Isaiah attempts to display to the community on spec variety for the various classes:
The ironic part within this stream (including the other classes related vids) is the push to show build variety when it really comes down to build viability. Isaiah can go on to show case each necro spec or display other class specs . But in the end the best builds that are used are specs that operate better and can adapt in the same situation or in multiple situations. Shining through the rest along with the class that uses the build creating a pigeon hole affect. Skill then comes into play but I won’t go into how this game doesn’t show case it effectively for pve or pvp.
So everyone is complaining about necro condition “bursting” and they actually create a condition-sigil called “of bursting”. Funny.

Also it would help the people that run givers weapons get back some of the condition damage they lost.

So your scepter auto attack bleeds would tick for a different number than your staff mark of blood bleed etc?
No, conditions check for damage each time they tick. I would imagine it worked the same way Might does.

Anyway… every time anet thinks something is good… and it involves necros it ended up badly for necros. So yeah I do think something will get nerfed.
Off topic… so far majority of my “it’s gonna get nerfed” came true >_> just saying.
I was hoping the video would address the whole “Necros don’t have a mechanic to block/evade/dodge (enough) boss bursts and end up dying” issue that everyone put on a pedestal a while back. Ah well.
Nah, this was just a way to get newer players some common specs to use.

I wonder if the superior sigil of bursting only gives the condition damage bonus on a burst. anyone have it? i am away from home for a week.
I’d be curious how much value any new necros get out of this video. It was rather scattershot and disorganized, and barely touched on our class mechanic. It was not so much a PVE guide – it was a collage.
Mostly what I got out of it was that he likes dagger + well builds.
Just to bump this back up because I had a chance to watch the necro thing discussed here. So on their test box, it seems they have fixed the tool tip to be condition damage for the “burst” sigil (though apparently it is bugged to not show the %).
I think the end result is that in the patch tomorrow we will see that sigil functional as intended. Since he was on their test box/server, and it was working there, it is a good bet it will be out in the next patch.
Going to be using it for sure.

And I agree with this…. it was a very dis-jointed discussion on things. There was no use of the skills to show people how they work, and what they do, just a random discussion of builds and traits that he likes.

When dealing with anet, always expect nerfs, minor buffs, over nerfs. Rarely though you may see an over buff.
