What do you LIKE about Necros?
Hmm… The only thing I can think of that I like is that you can collect life force from dead enemies. I dont, how ever, like how you use the life force.
I cant think of any thing else, I cant even find a weapon skill set that I like.
The necro went from going to be my main before I got the game, to my least liked class after iv played him. SO much disappoint.
I’m a fan of the mechanics, actually. The necromancer is very subtle. It has a lot of zone-control options and has a whole “this has been fun, but now it’s time for you to die,” vibe that I get from playing them.
People don’t notice just how much damage a necromancer is actually putting out because it in in lots of little hits (which also mitigates the effectiveness of Aegis and Blind against them)
I’m know it won’t be the majority, but I actually like the DS concept. It’s kinda unique, and it felt fresh. The only downside being it’s only 100% effective with Reaper or power build.
I love the concept of the weapon. Dagger, Axe and staff glyphe are all pretty cool and not seen often for necro.
Epidemic : This skill is unique and so much fun. I was missing it so bad when I went Power and MM mancer.
Liche : Prettty cool also. A big slow morph that hit like a truck.

also probaly says something about the gender i reckon its a girl girls like visual things at least the girls i met in the last decade of mmorpgs. man tend to have more agressive goals like killing stuf and as fast as possible and to reach that you need a class wich works good without a lot of buggs..
could be very wrong tho.. but sometimes when i see someone just walking around in game i can see or its a girl asking it to confirm it often confirms my hunch.

I agree, after reading it I was pretty sure she was a girl. The Harajuku part can’t lie Saying a gear set is cute also give it away.
But it doesn’t change my statement, the thread is about what we like of Necromancer. And most of our likes are visual or conceptual stuff. Someone who have preference for visual stuff created that thread.
But make no mistake, I think necro are a lot better then people say!

DS is awesome, AOE condition is awesome and Epidemic is awesome.
Some of the point that have already been covered, mostly the visual aspects and design are wonderful.
As for mechanics… Ehhh….
Staff 4 is exceptionally useful, not for the blast finisher but for the condition moving. Boss spams conditions or your team is bad at moving? Staff 4 has your back bro. Epidemic is another favorite, along with dagger 4. Pretty much everything that moves conditions around is fun for me.
Somedays though i just want to toss on a couple daggers and W face first in. To mobs until they fall. Easy 1v1 farming. Lazy days.
Deathshroud… Like the idea, hate the implementation.
Love the look of the pets, just wish they were better.
Love the spectral abilities, wish i could use them more.
Wells, DS heal, axe, actually most everything is the same situation, like the idea but the implementation is either underwhelming or short and completely avoidable duration, long cooldown.
Man, trying to stay positive is hard when you don’t have any feedback to look forward to. ‘What do you like about necro’ aka ‘How to depress necro players fast’.

I like the GW1 hordes of minions concept a lot. I somewhat like its remnants in GW2.
I like lifegains outside the #6 slots (Mark of Blood).
I like having 3 skillbars rather than 2. A lame third skillbar is better than none at all.
I don’t use DS effectively for big-hit absorption or interrupt, but those are cool options to go with an otherwise already full skillbar.
I like the idea of bone minions as blast finishers, but the lack of control & intelligence in where they go is a drawback in practice. (Hence my suggestion in another thread for an “All minions attack my target” button.)
Overall I very much like the conceptual setup of this profession, but the implementation, builds diversity, viability of much of the profession is lacking. I like that you can play it as a traditional light armor damage class or build beefier into more of a death knight style. I like the idea behind lifesteal. I like the access to Fear, Chill, etc. With all of the above the implementation needs a great deal of work.
I really like the options Necromancers have when dealing with boons on foes and conditions on themselves. Well of Power, Well of Corruption, Plague Signet, Corrupt Boon all have insane potential, even though they’re not always useful in all situations.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
I like the two basic concepts for this class that fit it so perfectly in theme:
“I’ll kill you slowly” and “fighting me only makes me stronger”
Increased damage for every condition, transforming and transfering conditions , meatshields, LG gain on getting hit, etc.
It all formes a slow paced strategic gameplay that the marks and wells fit in perfectly
the more.vicious and vampiric themed dagger and axe gameplay is my favourite currently
it may not be bursty but it hurts right away, tearing the enemy apart quickly while remaining strong and refilling lost health before hopping into deathshroud. I just enjoy being evil so much. I just wish there would be.profession specific quests and locations like Necromantic order at a graveyard taking care of graves, holding mourning ceremonies and speaking to lost.souls
All in all I feel like a.dark a vicious Necromancer. And considering the lack of an army of spooky scary sceletons, that is an achievement on ANets side.
