Who's loving the new Staff AA?
I used it a bit just in some pve bosses…and wow I can tell a big difference. The hand actually feels threatening now instead of just “ohhhhh, spoooookkkyyyy”. Building up life force with it should be a bit easier. Now if only they’d make dark path as fast or faster…
Yeah, pretty helpful now that necrotic grasp moves much faster.
Love it And since I got The Crossing this Halloween…. yeah my Necro is proudly sporting a staff now

I actually don’t mind the dark path projectile speed for 1 reason. The delay can often let me combo something as I’m about to teleport or even get me out of a combo if used on a distant target (which I usually target anyways). Thankfully it tracks the target otherwise I would be on the flip side.

I remember once, before the buffs, I was in a pvp match and doing everything I could to get a thief away from rezzing their downed teammate, and I casted everything I had due to them being stealthed. The thief ran out of stealth with probably 1k health left, but all my cooldowns were gone, except staff 1. I cast it and it hit, downing him. I remember thinking, if only staff 1 were faster, this would be a decent skill.
It’s actually worth casting now from time to time. Not an auto attack like dagger, obviously, but getting a few casts off isn’t be joke it used to be. For a power build.

Only if they are still being cast. Projectils (ds1 and ds2) that already have launched will still hit. And i am pretty sure he also means it that way.
Staff Auto buff was definatly a boon tonight during zerg fights. I use a Valkerie/Zerk build and having lifeforce recharge faster off the auto while keeping at range was a huge boon and while I haven’t tested it in other game mode’s yet It atleast allows Deathshroud builds to perform better in WvW. Cant say much about the other 2 buff but this one has definatly helped and is a step in the right direction
Since I only pvp, staff is mandatory and this patch actually is visible. Life force building with it is more efficient. I was more satisfied with the ds fix overall though that was horrendously obnoxious.
I am extremely satisfied. I hated the staff so much just because of that AA and always stuck to Scepter/Focus and Scepter/Dagger just so I could avoid using staff. But with the AA fix I actually bring a staff with me now.

it still needs to be a little faster and maybe increase in life force draw . other than that it is a tiny bit better than it was . now if only they bring back putrid mark to what it use to be . and maybe 1 second increase on fear and then we would be talking !

I’ll be honest when I saw the thread’s title at first when the patch hit I was like “meh not gonna bother trying…the class has been broken for ages anyway” then today I decided to roam on my power necro again after MANY months of my necromancer collecting dust and boy I was really happy with the change! I can actually hit stuff now! time ot get back to d/d staff power roaming again!

See how easy it is to please us necros. As much as I do enjoy it, it still doesn’t feel right to be using it somehow though. But as I always have the staff on me, I cant complain.
