Im just curious why there arent that many? I started leveling one and right now he is looking pretty cool, but I started noticing every time I came across another Necromancer it was a different race. Even on the forums where people post pictures of their Necro’s I only saw a couple.

Does the gear look ridiculous at higher levels on them? Or is it they get targeted more because of their size?

Male Norns just look ridiculous. I would have made one(their racials are actually great for necro in wvw), but I can’t enjoy playing as a big stumbling bafoon.

I made a Norn female necro because I couldn’t find a Norn male look that I liked.

Overall, I’ve been rather disappointed with the variety and quality of male human and Norn faces, hair and tattoo options. So my other 80 necros are Asura and Charr.

Because of lack of stability/block/invul/etc all necros should roll Asura. That way it makes more seance to be kicked around like a footy. :-)

I love my male norn necro! I like the idea of this huge, towering necromancer clad in thick layers of robes and pelts, wielding death as a weapon!

after i deleted my salad sylvari i was planning on creating a norn because i love the cultural armour, demon mask and leopard… but male norn are just so kitten annoying to play (and the way they swing the axe…), so i created charr instead (for similar reasons, cultural armour and skele mask)

Same here: norn, male, necro, and loving it!

My norn is very small and thin (for norn’s standards, at least!), because I don’t like to use a frame so bulky on a necro. So, I ended with a very nice big human male, with a server full of halflings. XD

The norn’s tatoos mix just fine with the necro’s masks, and the norn’s background mix nicely with a profession that talks with ghosts, imho.

And, if you are wondering, my light armor is a mix on WvW armor and Honor of the Waves dungeon armor. I can’t see nothing ridiculous there.

Have you checked out how hot they made they human-like females? I get why a lot of people make male characters, but I figure if I’m going to be looking at the same character for hundreds of hours, it better be one that I like looking at. I prefer looking at females, so that’s what I made my character as. Plus, Norn males just look a bit overgrown for light armor, it just doesn’t fit them well.

I’m a fan of this. Looks like a sort of spectral or Svanir type of look. I went with a sort of necro-shaman look somewhat black metal inspired.

Ok, I’ll admit it. That one came out nice! Maybe I didn’t try hard enough creating my male Norn. Hmmm.

Because a lot of light armor sets for males already are very copped out compared to females (see; phoenix set). Charr and Norn suffer the most of the males.

If they gave Norn’s the armor the Norn NPC wear,I would be happy.

I use to do the female character thing also, and the female norn is kind of hot, but now that I have an 8 year old son you feel kind of strange when he asks “Dad, why are you playing a girl?”….lol Thats a true story by the way.
Figure Ill wait a few more years before we have that talk.

I just find that male characters in general don’t look as great as females in light armor (asura is the exception). Especially big hulking norn in robes. I prefer my psychotic yet dainty female raising the dead.

Still working on my armor sets, need a couple more runs of HotW and AC. I’ll update once I finish but we do exist lol

@ksshane.7831 My son just turned 10 I recently got the same odd look when he saw my Guardian T3 armor in the character selection screen, shrug shoulders the best I could do for that response

its a focus. Back in GW1, the weapons didn’t make a difference in terms of skills. Though they did matter. They where usually stat sticks.

Armor it’s a bit of a mess atm, but anyway here’s my norn necro

I once read that to get the armor to look good on the norn male you need to choose the skinny body types.
I’m not a fan of norns so iv never tried it.

In general I’m just not too keen on Norn males.
I currently have a 27 Norn Guardian and I REALLY hate how it looks. That being said, I think Norn T3 heavy armour dyed black with the Karma boots and gloves is amazing.

I just feel like Norns move really slow (because of their size). After playing a Human for so long, even when my Norn has swiftness still find myself looking at my condition bar for chill/cripple lol.

Sylvari necro’s are best, like poisonous spike vine. And Norns in most of light armor looks ridiculous

Had to get a gender change after finding this – the male necro Norn’s live on!

I have one, in was my first character and it is my main. I love that big sinister guy towering those little humans.

The only problem I had with it was the face. I found it hard to make a good “necro face” with all those big round heads. The beard helped hiding it but I don’t think big beards goes well with the necro look.

Male Norn’s scepter 2 actually uses their chest hair instead of corpse hands to cripple their foes.

I made a norn necro when reaper was announced. I used one of thinner builds, gave his skin a dark ashen color, that face tattoo of three lines in white on one side. I used the monk outfit in shadow abyss and one of the dark greens (kinda felt like a mortal combat character lol). I’m currently using some of the vigil gear (I refuse to have him in a skirt) with the reaper hood. He’s my power necro (no condi gear, he beats everything to death himself so no minions either, just straight up power beatdown). I have a female human necro for the more squishy necro (not reaper) theme (minions and condi).

My first character (also my main) was a male norn necro. I couldn’t find a combo that I liked on him for awhile. I decided to go with a wraith look and ended up with this.

Really for the reaper? The reaper is why I made a norn necro in the first place, because it was basically GW2’s version of a deathknight…
