With what gear would an open-world PvE condition necromancer get the most mileage?
– Berserker’s (Power/Precision/Critical Damage)
– Rampager’s (Precision/Power/Condition Damage)
– Carrion (Condition Damage, Power, Vitality)
– Rabid (Condition Damage, Precision, Toughness)

Traits are 30/20/0/0/20. Skills are Scepter/Focus, Corrosive Poison Cloud, Epidemic, and Signet of Spite, though I’m considering dumping Epidemic for Blood is power. Suggestions and advice are most welcome. Thanks.

i run with mostly carrior and some rabid parts for more armor for my conditionmancer

with D offhand when you use Blood is power u can transfer the self bleed to your target. Also you wont need epidemic because with the poson cloud, scepter 2 and dagger 5 are aoes also and you can use staff as 2nd weapon so its not a problem.
My build is 0/30/20/20/0

if u have only 20 on curses put 10 more for the 33% longer cond from the scepter
you can also put 10 on death magic to make staff mars with bigger area. dont think u need to put traits in the shroud tree since its weak for cond necros

I’d keep Epidemic (too invaluable for many-v-1 and events) and instead trade out Signet of Spite for BiP.

Going 30/20 instead of 20/30 is unusual. If you are using 30 for Close to Death, that trait doesn’t boost condition damage, IIRC. So it would help your direct damage only.

I use scepter/dagger & scepter/focus. Focus4 is great for life force refilling, regeneration and vulnerability. The latter goes very well with death shroud Life Blast, as long as you have decent Power.

I use 20/30/0/10/10 or 20/30/020/0, with Rabid gear with Crests of the Rabid, mostly Rampager trinkets with Emerald orbs, and Rampager/Carrion mix of weapons. This gives me a nice mix of condition dmg and direct dmg, with about 50% crit chance.

For full condition, Rabid is your best choice. I would avoid traits in Spite except if you want full condition duration.

If you want an hybrid, Rampager is a beast (and I think one of the best choice for a necro in PvE) as long as you know what you’re doing, when to dodge, etc. Your trait choice seems more hybrid, so Rampager may suits you better.

Corrosive cloud could be changed too, you can have access to AoE poison and vulnerability with your weapons, so your utility could be changed to something different. Signet of the locust for faster movement instead of Signet of Spite, and Well of suffering instead of Corrosive would be better choices IMO.

You tag them with AoE Staff/ scepter, spread with epidemic, drop Well, DS #4 and normally everyone’s dead.

Were do you get “Rabid gear”?

You can get Rabid glove/head/shoulder/leg + Rings/Amulet/Back/Acc from Karma vendors in Orr:

You can also get all armor + weapons from dungeons: TA, SE, etc

The other choice is from the Trade post. Khilbron armor is equal to Rabid.

If you have the karma, focus on getting your weapons from dungeons first.

You can get it off the trading post (really expensive) from multiple dungeons (Twilight Arbor, Honor the Waves, Arah, and I think Citadel of Flame), or from the Orr temple karma vendors (boots and chest-piece are not available from karma vendors). Ascended amulet and rings are available just from doing monthly/dailies and the rings can be obtained from Fractals 10+. Ascended backpiece can be crafted in the mystic forge, and exotic backpiece and accessories can be gotten from I believe the Grenth temble vendor.

Oh, and don’t forget to grab the Graveborn Breather from Cursed Shore. Only level 80 water breather for light armor right now is rabid.
