A lich change is likely, the rest more unlikely.
Protection to Sw doesnt even make much sense.

Nah I believed it will be like the ranger and engineer skill bar. Other than anticipated lich nerf sustain and weapon improvement and guard are excited getting spirit weapons and tomes improved not much angry faces will show themselves, minions might get fixed too.

If they were going to change Lich or other elites they would have said so, like they did for Elementalist. I think the only changes that will occur are those as indicated here:

So, the changes parse as:
Goals:
- Improving their survivability through utilities
- Improving the overall effectiveness of their melee and skirmishing weapons
Methods:
- Dagger auto-attack will now hit two targets
- Axe’s animations have been tuned to be more fluid
- Utility skills have been updated to provide more survivability over time
- Some traits have been updated to provide more survivability over time
I take it that “more fluid” axe animations = faster axe animations (at least for #1 & #3)
So, to me the only open questions really come down to the point about survivability buffs via utilities and traits.

They will most likely change it just to be consistant with ele tornado.
While I don’t agree with OP’s likely changes, I do agree with his message of not getting your hopes up. I wouldn’t expect massive reworks of many traits, or many, if any, skills, and especially no buff to mobility and active defenses outside of death shroud that for whatever reason people keep asking for.
I fully expect it to be an impactful patch, but I worry about PVE necros and I’m expecting to see people with their hopes up being upset that Anet didn’t give them exactly what they wanted.
I’ve said this in the last thread that suggested it and I stand by my protest, if they ever decide to make Necromancer Death Shroud function more like Warrior’s Adrenaline, I will never play a Necro again.
I know the chances of that happening are extremely slim, but I’ve seen the rumor going around and I godkitten well hope it’s just that, a rumor…
As for the changes regarding survivability, I would say it’s well deserved and makes me very happy to imagine becoming a true attrition fighter. I won’t hold my breath for anything amazing but knowing they want to give us better sustain excites me very much, so we’ll see what September brings.

I’m willing to bet they will do a small buff to siphon values, but ignore the core issue to them that is the fact Death Shroud makes them worthless anyway.
ArenaNet does do a very good job of identifying what is bad, but isn’t so good at figuring out why it’s bad.

Or how to properly fix it without either making something else useless or breaking the overall schema of balance across multiple classes.
Or sometimes they just try to fix it, and nothing really changes for whatever reason.
