I was thinking of using CPC with old MoC but now nah it’s not happening not worth it at all. I’m probably going back to Flesh Golem as well I’m only looking forward to Parasitic Contagion if it heals through shroud that is. It seems like hell break loose soon with possibly necro branded as sacrifice.

Corrupting boons seems like a good way to deal with Guardians, and Rangers appear to have problem with necromancers as well. So possibly classes that rely a lot on boons and low on condition clear might have a problem.

My only guess is ANet has severely overestimated just how much condi transfer this class is capable of and the type of specs that actually use it/need it.

They even removed the negative side effects to the quickness skills of rangers/warriors but decided to double down on Necros self-mutilating?

The point is the only other skills in the game that had a noticeable negative effect attached to them had that negative effect removed. And at least with the quickness skills, the negative effect was pretty slight and the payoff was quite large.

Few corruption skills are at a power level to even warrant a negative effect.

I’m still shocked that the engie stacked bleeds to induce 2.2k dmg a sec, while stacking burning to over 7k in under 4 seconds, while maintaining numerous might stacks. I saw a mesmer burst someone down in under 2.5 seconds, and I saw a warrior stack bleeds faster than a Necro could while still doing 4k attacks. They switched to a Necro and it took the Necro so long to stack some damaging condi’s compared to the other classes. Karl got on dueled a few times and opened with signet Of suffering everytime, to get any damage at all. I also saw that at max we can stack dhuumfire/burning 3 times which requires us to be in DS as a condi build for awhile when we have a hard time generating life force. How can we compare. I watched that stream and we looked very very bad.

Condi output was very low, compared to the other condi builds we saw in action.

On the upside, Corrupt Boon’s cost kinda got reduced. Still just one stack of poison untraited, and one stack deals less damage than before. Considering that was the only Corruption worth considering before in PvP…

Personally I think untraited consume conditions is still our best heal. Epidemic got 33% cd increase to 20 seconds, but I think still usable in WvW. Corrupt boon is unchanged.

Epidemic should transfer up to 50 stacks of all condis.
Plague should have a bigger radius and AoE transfer condis that are applied to you.

If we have such extremely hefty taxes on our normal utilities then we need proper compensation in the form of skill power.

Cmon guys. No taxation without representation!

That’s why I’m thinking.

Hey let’s give necromancer a powerfull cooldown reduction trait with negative effect as counterweight. We also increase the cooldowns of the corruption skills because they are too short when traited.

Sublimatio, you are right at the point sacrifice skills in gw1 had a harder impact. But sacrificing worked on a different way this time. You had to sacrifice an stated amount of your max health (from 2% up to 33%).

Corruption skills in gw2 gives you conditions, many of them are damaging but have to stand for a long while on you to have a noticable effect. Necromancers are able to transfer their conditions to their enemy, this way you can draw this negative aspect into a positive aspect. This wasn’t able in gw1, you just lost health instant.

And weakness on the nerfed epidmeic is just killer, too. Geezus Anet, why don’t you simply rebuild Necro from the ground up. Or take a look at the GW1 Necro and change our skills’ effects to soemthing resembling that. Then they maybe should kittening scrap the selfcondition kitten and go back to sacrificing HP and make the skills have a godkitten heavy impact. They should jsut try and cram the GW1 functionalities into our current skills. Make signets work like orders, keep wells as is, make the corruptions like the old sacrifice skills and buff siphoning to somehow keep up with the sacrifices. And then give us proper minion AI.

Not the exact same level obviously, but enough to mitigate ~50% of it. Although you are right there hsould propably be a trait that reduces the cost instead, otherwise siphoning when not running sacrifice skills would be too strong.

I agree, but another angle I was looking at this is that when HOT comes out with Reaper spec we can get 100% immune to cripple, so wont be a bad one to take… aside from that it generally sucks anyway.

The way I see it they basically gave up trying to balance the current changes before they are being introduced. It will now be much like when the game first came out, with a multitude of broken builds possible.

Thing is, the same will happen AGAIN in 2-3 months, when HOT comes out. But what will actually happen in between? Since any kind of balance achieved now would be destroyed soon anyway, they might to some extent just lay low for now and let the chaos reign.
