As long as they don’t use “Banshee” name, I’m okay with anything they show us.
Although I’d prefer ritualist-type spec.

I don’t mind it as long as we don’t get the Guardian treatment of being called a “Dragon Noun”.

I don’t see why so many people are against shouts – especially if they do no damage. Necromancers have tons of problems but damage isn’t one of them. If anything, shouts adding party-wide utility covers Necromancer’s biggest glaring flaw.

necromancer’s biggest glaring flaw isn’t damage. Death shroud. The entire death shroud mechanic is completely busted… But our second biggest flaw is group utility. Which we have virtually none.

In fact, damage wouldn’t even be a problem if our group utility was strong enough.

Why everybody think we need to be support? I mean maybe 1 or 2 skills/traits no more, that’s not what we are we don’t buff, we debuff, the problem is in pve there is almost nothing to debuff, things seem to change in HoT so going further in debuff is ok for me.
Debuffing shouts can be fine but i prefer something else.

Because shouts tend to be nothing but a boon applier or a condition applier, and rarely interesting. Ranger has a shout skill for pets and a reveal, which seem out the norm, but they still not interesting.

I wouldn’t want a elite spec, which is suppose to bring interesting skills(5 skills) to the parent class, and waste that on getting 5 ranger shouts or 5 warrior shouts… That’s not cool.

We have a reason to be cautious in times like this. Stances and Shouts in the game been very uninteresting.

some of these are debuffs, yeah but they are designed with the specific intent to support a very specific type of group. Necromancer has very little of this in GW2 which is a major departure from its GW1 counterpart where this was half their play style.

The reason im not hyped for shouts or stances is because if its either of those its very unlikely we will get group utility such as projectile defence. Which is something i think we need atleast some access to. A stance could be a selfish reflect i suppose. But thats unlikely to be picked in a group.

Shouts could stop defenses, you yell, creating a sound wave that destroys incoming projectiles. Bit of a stretch but could happen.

And what if…

Instead of classic utility the elite specialization was a “necromancer/revenant” combo and gave to the necromancer some DS utility skills.

Let’s say that we gain the Legendary Verata shroud. And since Verata was a minion master we could end up with shroudminion skills… Moaaaaaaaar AI!!!

PS.: before anyone rage, I fully know it will worsen even more the Necromancer state but in all honesty it’s totally in the lines of what they seem to want : Profession using even more there profession mechanism.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

Because the Necro in GW1, unlike GW2 Necro, was actually awesome (powerlevel-awesome, not playstyle/style awesome, GW2 necro has plenty of that or I wouldn’T main it).

The GW1 Necromancer has a lot of what we’d like to see: meaningful and unique support, interesting trade-offs for high power that required intelligent management of resources (I can’t tell you how hilarious it was to watch a Necromancer kill themselves by spamming HP cost abilities), and they were just flat out strong and desired. That isn’t to say every single thing should transition, we are noticeably different in GW2 than GW1, but some ideas are really solid to bring back.

Yeah i’m sure they can bring some of the THOUSAND skills from GW1. Did you really expect to find the same necro from GW1? I played GW1 (ritualist) too and i see GW2 like a totally different game, i don’t compare anything skills or gameplay with GW1.
