Anet, address this! Off-hand radius/range
Bump for justice.
Switched to my teef with s/d. Used flanking strike.
God that made me sad.
harder to log in every day.
Even with radius updated condi ranger would still suck in terms of damage.
And have no defense mechanism like stealth, endure pain, blocks etc…
Traps without ground targetting and 1 condi per tick will always suck etc…
All other classes can apply kittenload of different type of condis with just 1 hit so just play pewpew or another class.
Bumping this. This change needs to happen immediately. Address it now please.
Bumping, bumping.
Does Anet even understand how necessary it was to use Offhand Training’s radius increase to make Offhands desirable? Christ, is there not one developer who understands?
What happened to you guys, ANet? You guys used to be upholding the highest industry standards for high-quality PvP in Gw1. What happened?
You have to look their streams.
They don’t play ranger at all.
They play Meditation guardians, HamBow warriors, Shatter Mesmers, Cele/Condi Elem, but not rangers.

Or, when they do, it is Bearbow. And they constantly refer to Bearbow, like all Rangers are ree-tar-dead bots or something.

Grouch does love his “Bearbow Bandit” Ranger.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
They should be able to see from their own numbers how often offhand traing was slotted.
I’ve tried warhorn in a few builds and have to trait separately, just for wh CD, is full kitten.
Space Marine Z [GLTY]
Bring my range baaaaaaaaack
This thread must be bumped. If it is not talked about, a-net will forget about it. There is no reason at all for this change not to happen. It was simply overlooked and needs to be re-added into the game.
Yea bearbow references kill me a little inside everytime I hear them. What’s funny is that they mention the bear all the time, yet if that’s really the way that they thought we played the class then we should be given a whole bunch more of DPS on our weapons. They really don’t feel like much more than a meat shield at times but it feels like we’re expected to have cat class damage landing hits at a much higher percentage at least in terms of pvp balance.
I’ve hit some of these compiled issues (like the 150 pet stats, some offhand range items and some pet traits not working while downed) and those should be getting addressed soon-ish.
We are working heavily on HoT and trying to get to these issues whenever time allows.
They’re looking at it. Hopefully they will do the most simple and fair thing they can do, make the old off-hand training baseline.
Kui mentioned “some offhand range items”. Hoping Bonfire and Whirling Defense are increased at the very least of that “some.”

Lazze quoted Irenio/Kui directly from the bugs sub-forum. I’m just pointing out Kui’s wording when he said “some” offhand range items.

Ah, i really hope it’s bonefire, WD, WH#4, and Dagger #5 that were looked at, the other ones really aren’t too noticeable with the lack of the size increase.

Torch 4 too.
That 25% velocity boost awhile back made the range nice.
Yeah, the range increase was the best part about it. Miss dagger 4 actually moving my ranger forward.
This should really be on the front page…
“also bleed on crit in same spot with traper,so traper cant take it,fix pls”
These!!!
Traps or condiOnCrit is worst choice ever! That mean, that if you chose traps, then Rabbid gear are 100% useless for you and if you chose bleed on crit, then you should not take traps anymore.

I’ll never understand why they did this, traps with direct damage absolutely NEED to have Sharpened Edges as well as Trappers Expertise to be effective.

True.
And that mean, that if you chose traps, then you’ll never take SB, it’s almost doing no damage. These is only trait (Sharpened Edges) that dong SB little bit valuable choice, but you can’t take it with traps.
They BOTH should work together. Only reason why traps should do damage on pulse(really low damage) is that they have to Crit and apply onCrit effect(Sharpened Edges).
Merge Sharpened Edges with Hidden Barbs. Swap Trapper’s Expertise into Master tier. Make new Adept trait; Storm Chaser – You gain 1.5s of Super Speed whenever you gain a condition. 5s ICD"
All is well with the world.

eh, i’d make it whenever you gain cripple or chill since it would effectively cancel them out for 1.5s.
Personally, i think trappers expertise should stay as an adept, sharpened edges + hidden barbs would be much better as a master trait than an adept.

Why not just any condition? So you can be more mobile and skirmish. Just balance with the ICD. Ele can get 3s per air attunement swap, so like 35% uptime and its on demand.
Yeah, adept-master, same diff, all good. I just didn’t want it competing with Spotter, figured Trappers Expertise would be better in the tier with that, allowing synergy with Spotter and Sharpened/Hidden for non trap builds. Merger needs to be done though.

I don’t see anything wrong with hidden barbs + sharpened edges competing with spotter in all honesty, but i’d be fine with either one as long as hidden barbs + SE isn’t competing with trappers… cause it’s annoying…
And personally for the any condition i just feel like it’ll end up being used when you don’t need it. I like the idea, just not sure, i’d have to play it. I think it’d also be cool if it procced off evades.

Having Hidden Barbs merged with Sharpening Edges and competing with Spotter would straight up suck if there ever is a pve meta where conditions are wanted. In that case you’d want both.
That being said, stay on topic guys. There are plenty of other threads discussing the whole traps + sharpening edges thing.
I am speechless, how come was the axe nerfed this way?

Almost positive it was an oversight, seeing as how they plan on giving back off hand trainings range increase to us in some form (baseline would be best imo)

Solved:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-July-28-2015
- Crippling Talon: Increased the range to 1200.
- Throw Torch: Increased the range to 1200.
- Bonfire: Increased the radius to 240.
- Hunter’s Call: Increased the range to 1200.
- Call of the Wild: Increased the radius to 750.
- Whirling Defense: Increased the reflection radius to 150.
- Path of Scars: Increased the base range to 1200.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Good news!
Weird how dagger #4 didn’t make the cut though.

So, now all we need to do is get SB put back to 1200 too. Doesn’t make much sense that we can throw a torch or axe or dagger further than we can shoot an arrow from a bow.

I am glad that Anet listen to us but yeah, did they really forget stalker’s Stike ?

BleedOnCrit away from Trapper’s Expertise
HealingSpring Have to heal pet.(not healing pet after patch)
Off hand fixed.
Now the bug where healing spring doesn’t heal pets.
HoT = WvW players forced to PVE
…Why was Stalker’s Strike omitted? That was, like, the main reason I was upset about offhand training being removed.
