Some people enjoy it but still think that design of Astral Force and Druid/Ranger synergy must be better over time.

Problems:

  • Very slow way of getting Astral Force.
  • Very limited way of getting Astral Force.
  • Very easy way of losing Astral Force if you get CCd or when people kite you.
  • You work way to hard for Celestial form, just to have exactly 15 seconds time.
  • No way of generating astral force while in Celestial Avatar form.
  • Very limited and low synchronization between existing Ranger and Druid even though we have tons of things that we could have synergy with.
  • Druid is not just about healing, but recovering, so condition removal should count towards refilling Astral energy.

Problem 2:
Druid needs FAST access to Astral Force, if ranger cannot generate enough AF to even use utilities potentially then we have a mechanics problem. Why do i think that? Combat in GW2 got reduced from average 90-180 seconds down to 30-90 seconds, which means most of small scale fights are done long ago before you even fill your AF. Current state of druid is simply not catching up with speed of this game.

Solutions:
We have so many possibilities and we don’t use them for anything and leave the specialization dull and farm from what it could be. Druid could really use variety of choices to get astral energy and bring diversity. Why be “specialized” and limit yourself. This is legit list of things we could include as source of astral energy.

  • All weapon auto attacks should generate % of Astral Force.
  • Regeneration boon should generate % of Astral Force.
  • Troll Unguent is the only one currently to produce Astral Force, why?
  • Where is WHaO, Healing Spring, Water Spirit, Glyph of Rejuvenation?[Equal to 1 auto attack AF, sorry i don’t comprehend that]
  • Signet of the Wild should produce passive Astral Force income.
  • Curing conditions should contribute to filling Astral Force.
  • Spirit of Nature?
  • Signet of water?
  • Runes that deliver healing?
  • Trait Invigorating bold?
  • Empathic Bond ?
  • Wilderness Knowledge ?
  • Reviving someone is healing, why not?
  • Selfblast the water field?
  • Pets healing and cleansing skills?

Also other suggestion would be:
Access Avatar when ever you want would make this specialization interesting.
Example: You have 30% AF > CA form perform a pull with G.Tides then CA5 root.

Glyph of Tidos needs to be insta cast to syncrhonize with CA5 form and make the combo viable.

NOTE: I know many things already give astral energy, but with this rate Astral Energy income is very limited, slow and far from enjoyable as it could be. We already have cooldown if we leave Astral Force, so on demand CA would be legit even if bar is not full.

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..

Have only been playing Rev for a short while but the more I do, the more I wonder why Druid AF was not modeled after the Rev Energy/Cooldown mechanics. Many of the suggestions I made towards AF generation/CAF gating can be found already in Revenant.

Pros of Rev Energy/CD system:
- Automatically regen energy. No more wasting time trying to balance AF generation coefficients across multiple weapons/utilities/abilities. (Lets be real, this is never going to happen.) Also, you are not punished for using your time to do things besides DPS/Heal (e.g., dodging, moving out of aoe or moving to heal, kiting, staying alive, etc.).
- You have access to your energy immediately. No more having to “build” AF at the start of a fight which is just a dumb concept to have for a healing build.

Revenant is about managing short cooldown abilities with your energy. Druid already has the short cooldowns and would pair well with the Rev energy mechanics.

I did try revenant on BW3, and i must say i was enjoying it. The energy as resources was sick idea, i love it, and it’s amazing. AF is a bad design if you limit it like that, and it will never work.

AF will never get balanced and it will stay a BAD concept as we predicted.
Ranger last, Druid last > outcome? Unbalanced unfinished rushed project.

One of the funny ideas i got.. It would be better to make astral force by moving, more you move more astral you get [velocity of speed doesn’t matter]. This would also make players to move a lot and build positioning

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..

Make Natural Healing generate AF and it will become a fantastic trait, instead of being the least crap if you are not running a GS or Hawk.
