Blast Finishers
i completely agree! its been made a smidge easier since we can now reliably cast pet4 abilities…but thats only if you run guard.
so yes! more blast finisher plx!

My ele puts down 5 in 4 seconds. 6 in 4 seconds if I’m fast enough. I’m not sure why my ranger can’t have any.
Part of the problem is that the ranger’s finishers don’t really seem to fit the roles we are boxed into. We just need more variety of something/anything and finishers is a start. I agree with the OP.
Blast finisher on Maul would make me actually feel like a team player…… This would make so happy that I would cry.
blast finisher of maul would seem logical and i would love it, but it might be a bit imba being able to blast our own long water field about 3 time + 2 from duel drakes (first skill after swap) whilst removing conditions and getting regen, i defently don’t want the duration increased. Hilt bash might be good

But hey, thieves can blast a water field 3 times in a row, and they can make their own water fields with a consumable, so what’s the harm in giving rangers a reliable blast finisher?

I’d say that they wouldn’t touch the duration on spring since you can chain backstabs with a smoke field and spamming heart seeker over and over again but who am I kidding.

I agree with it being put on Barrage. Seeing as they nerfed the damage 50% with the patch.. the least they could do is add a blast finisher to it.

I do feel like the damage is less than it was, but it’s nowhere near 50% less.

Give rangers access to the hammer. A revival of the bunny thumpers. I always found it weird they were given greatswords and not hammers given that hammers were probably their best weapon in GW1 after the bow.

Ahhhh. Bunny thumpers. If they ever did add the hammer it would confuse the ever-loving kitten out of anyone who did not play GW1. But I would welcome it. Such an entertaining build, that.

The Idea of a controllable blast finisher would be great, and after searching on guildwiki, i found out, that every class except ranger has at least 1 combofield (warriors just got fire from longbow, but a mass of finishers) AND at least 1 kind of every combofinisher!
And when i’m talking about combofinisher, i mean controllable abilitys like “i will now jump through this waterfield so it heals me” and not “wait for my drake to use his explosion maybe in the waterfield”.
Same problem goes for the poisonfield of spiders, that we can’t controll.
At least make the explosionfinisher of the drake to an ability we can use with F2, although i would prefer a weaponskill.
If you set down our damage beacause we have a pet, please give us at least the possibility to controll the most important skill of our pets directly!
Every other class can controll when and how it uses combo-abilitys.
This would be a good step in the right direction to keep the ranger-balance close to the other classes.

We’ve been asking for a controllable blast finisher since, I dunno, December? Or even before that, I lost count. A blast finisher on Maul has been argued countless times, but this request has always simply been ignored. Like most things posted on the ranger forum, but that’s old news.
As a community, we need to let ANet know that not having a weapon base blast finisher is one of the tools that is holding us back as a profession. We shouldn’t rely on a RNG blast from the Drakes to achieve this. When you look at this list of blast finishers:

we are the only profession that:
a) has no blast finisher on a weapon or utility skill.
b) has to rely on one pet line for a vital teaming ability we have no control over and is not available when the pet is dead
This is an ability Rangers should have a convenient access to just like the other 7 profession.
