Bunny Thumper – A hammer-wielding, close-range, knock-down master.
And they tell me a rifle hunter is unthematic…
Save the Bell Choir activity!

Some hunters use hammer you know? :P
We’re just craving nostalgia really. Hammer Ranger builds were a thing in GW1 and all Anet needs to do is refine and refresh the idea of that build for GW2.

Ranger with hammer was a thing in GW1, even refered to in GW2 by giving Master Ranger Nente in AC story mode a hammer.
They tell you rifle is unthematic for a pretty good reason. It doesn’t have anything to do with ranger, not even in a historical sense like the hammer does.

Right!? I would love to see a throwback to ‘hammer rangers’ bunny thumpers. I even made the skills gw1 named and themed.

Not necessarily, the trait lines could assist in the condi application, but 4 does seem a bit high. Would rather the skills work off enemy boons since ranger could use some boon hate.

That would make it almost exclusively a pvp weapon, which would be a bad idea. The 4 Condi thing would work well in a party, dungeon or otherwise.

It could run something like:
If foe has 3 or more boons, knock them down and remove (1..2?)
Hey, I’m happy to see alternatives. You’re right though, there are very few mobs with boons in pve, and that kind of steps on the toes of necromancers as well.

Condi doesn’t make sense on a presumable power weapon. Who says the trigger has to be something like 2 or more boons, it could be 2 or less. Then it could work in pve and could be countered in pvp by stacking boons to avoid kd.

I was judging on the basis that it was 2 or more boons. But yes 2 or less boons would be good.
For the elite skill in the kit I would like it to be something like Strike as One, where you and your pet teleport to your target area causing a short knockdown, making your attacks unblockable for a short period, and giving the ranger immunity to movement impairing conditions for a short period.
