They would have to completely change the kicking skill from the #1 auto attack of the sword otherwise you will look stupid floating while doing a kick motion and hence would most likely be reported as a bug due to its awkward appearance
That’s how I believe is the only way to fix being rooted to the spot

Then change the animation IF that is what is required. I don’t care – no other class/weapon combo in the game roots you while auto-attacking. Why does a Ranger who opts to use a Sword have to put up with this when nobody else does? They changed my Warrior Hammer skill #3 (Hammer Shock) to no longer root while casting, in this patch – same thing could be done for Ranger Sword #1, and it should.

sword can be used to leap between opponents if youre skilled with it. it has 2 evades, and a leap finisher. just take it off autoattack and practice.

Again, why must we make concessions and “practice” with a crappy mechanic that no other class/combo has to deal with for their main attack? Why can’t we ask for a fair and balanced change instead? Why are you even arguing against it? Do you like being handicapped? Does it make you feel better about your skillz? I don’t understand.

A.Net, please consider making Sword auto-attack not root you in place for the aforementioned reasons, if nothing else. All I’m asking for is a bit of class/weapon balance plz.

As i can see, alot of classes got the 10—>25% running speed signet buff and(ofc) thiefs got the 33—>50%. So, do we know the running speed cap(or else the maximum running speed)?So basically doesnt change a thing vs classes with perma swift……

As i can see, alot of classes got the 10—>25% running speed signet buff and(ofc) thiefs got the 33—>50%. So, do we know the running speed cap(or else the maximum running speed)?So basically doesnt change a thing vs classes with perma swift……

well actually according to trait builders it is 10 points in the acrobat tree.

i don’t have a thief but the shadow arts(toughness and healing) tree seems more like a def tree to me. just judging from some of the traits listed there. like the heal in stealth, blind on stealth and stealing health.

well then again both trees seem like some kind of def trees
like i said i don’t play thief.

I dont QQ @ all…….i just asked what is the cap of running speed and i mentioned the 33%—>50% buff! I dont have any issues with thiefs and in general with any other classes(pvp/pve wise), i can deal with the majority of players-classes out there. So iam wondering if we have any change with the speed cap….and i also mentioned that most classes got the 10—>25% buff on run speed and we still have some issues in WvW with the perma swift classes…That’s all.

Speed is noticeable and very helpful getting around in WvW. It won’t help you catch or get away from anyone though. Hate wasting a slot on it but it does make WvW more enjoyable.

Pet does help out a lot more with their speed. I have had a few encounters where the dog knocked someone down at the start of the fight when I know the enemy wasn’t going to engage and instead run away.

I haven’t really noticed any big improvement with arrows hitting more. TBD

When someone uses the word ‘Meta’, a kitten dies. Don’t do it.

I haven’t really noticed a difference in the longbow or shortbow…
am I the only one? longbow is still very unreliable and slow in my opinion.

The arrow speed increase is noticeable imo. The lb autoattack is slow ye but think about it as an utility weapon (sadly).

And guardians are still the slowest class.

Those armadillos would be a lot cooler if they looked more like real armadillos. mmm armadillos
