This is worthless. Current mechanic will have to be changed completly, something I expect them to do within the next few days.
Every other class got to enjoy their profession on launch day. Druids? Not so much.

this could still be useful if they just tweak numbers…
i find its pretty good in verdant brink. lots of extended fights to build up AF with lots of targets to CC and healing needed.
in other zones, the problem is not generation but that even on extended combat events the waves are seperated enough that your AFG drains before the next wave arrives .
i definitely noticed good AF generation from the staff, but i swapped it out for the greatsword for more damage. i don’t get as much AF now but i do get enough to get things done.
i’m wondering if Moa pet heal counts towards af…

In any case. Celestial form is the most important part of druid. The traits are more important for many other classes elite specs, making them more ‘locked away’ on launch day than Druids.
I stopped spec druid, its worthless in PvE solo. After about 4 hours of playing it I only got to use the form twice. This is rancid design. It further shows that those who design the class don’t actually play the class.

The current design of AFG is forcing players to stack in a ball so a Druid can maximise the rate of generation, which is rather silly for two reasons: 1) most of the fights require players to move around A LOT. AFG will mostly come from attacking the enemies instead of healing allies. AFG via attacking is very lacking at the moment.
2) Even if the players are stacked in a ball, not all them will neatly stay in “the ball” for you. There will be backliners all over the place and people dodging in and out of “the ball”. So the Druid has to be the backliner of the backliners in order to capture most allies in generating AF efficiently via healing.
Either way, design of AFG does not appear to have the current game play in mind. It is detached from the reality of the game, I am afraid.

Haven’t test Water Spirit, although I can say Spirit of Nature doesn’t charge the energy. Found it awesome when they said they were basing the heal per tic based off of our healing power, but sadly it doesn’t do it at all. Set it up in heavily populated areas during events in the new maps as well in the Labyrinth. Would sit there, doing nothing, healing people for up to 423 per tick, still now energy gain sadly :/
I’m just not gonna play Druid until the OOC combat dissipation is either fixed or confirmed as intended.
If confirmed as intended I will just not play Druid.
It doesn’t seem like blasting a water field is generating any AF. Or at least the amount it generated was so tiny I couldn’t see the bar move…

I was dropping it on ground then falling on it and blasting with horn and clarion bond. I’m not 100% positive but it seems like some things AFG OOC and some will only do so in combat and possibly only while actually healing.
Well staff 1 is back to generating AF out of combat, so it’s been less of an issue now.
But yes, I was blasting it out of combat…maybe that was what happened.
healing targets with staff one Effects spirits and that generates AF , i’ve kept a sun spirit alive for a very long time by leaving it in melee range and doing the normal rotations and most of what justine mentions in his List run down.
i can now generate AF in 30seconds with basic Staff, 2x glyphs and Sword+dagger combos none of these have Rapid attacks but in return i have two bodies to heal at all times increasing the amount of AF gained per Rotation.
have not tried it with a Full team of spirits yet.
