New runes! Awesome for ranger?

When I read this, omfg… I had to re-read it like five times and I literally “lol’d”. This is amazing, I am getting these runes immediately, holy christ, I’ve never been so happy. 3 traps + stealth spam anyone?

I’m betting there’s a hefty cooldown time on the stealth specifically to prevent that “spamming” you’re excited about.
The stealth on traps won’t be as good as you think. Traps do direct damage, which will just end up revealing you almost right after you throw it. The evade run might be good with ranger and the new marks GM, we can already keep a high uptime of cripple and with that it’d be easier. I’m not really that impressed by any of the new runes tbh.
It is not what you do, but how and why you do it that counts.
I don’t really use trap builds, so I’m more excited about the other runes, but yeah. If there’s no ICD on that then trappers just got insane in WvW.
The trap runes won’t be coming to pvp. So yay for all the condi tank wvw roamers out there, but I hate that and love traps in pvp. I guess krait or balth is still good if I don’t quit this game to my boredom and rage with it.

I suggested this Superior Rune of the Trapper back in the Ranger CDI:
Superior Rune of the Trapper
1: +28 Condition Damage
2: +10% Condition Duration
3: +55 Condition Damage
4: You place a Spike Trap while reviving an ally (30s cooldown)
5: +100 Condition Damage
6: Placing a trap grants you Camouflage until you move or attack. (90s cooldown)
Looks like the one they gave us is better.

I got the Trapper runes already. The stealth stacks, but the super speed doesn’t.
The super speed is freaking awesome. I can catch players trying to run away, or run away myself. You can time laying down traps since super speed doesn’t stack, and run pretty far.
The stealth…not sure what to do with it yet….
Super Speed, eh? Did not see that one coming… Was some confusion about whether is was haste/quickness/swiftness because the preview we got of these was in chinese… Who’d of thought it was super speed :p
I share some of the sceptasism about the stealth.. since the traps themselves will reveal you right away. But still, pretty cool.

I suggested Super Speed on Hunter’s Shot, not trap runeset…. but it’s okay I guess.. Now I can have 20% uptime on superspeed and more on stealth if using Burning one or 10% if I want Freezing one… We will see.
As for Evasion runeset – it’s pretty legit, however I will have to test it’s base cripple duration. Might be worthy Traveler’s replacement.
And finally that useless “drop spike trap reviving” has some synergy. Although it could also stealth rezzed target

True, but the rest of the rune buffs give benefits to using the condition based traps. I don’t really think another skill turning into the trap version of “guard” is really a good thing. None the less, the role you gave frost trap would indeed be viable.

Interesting concept, although I don’t know if remorsless competes with the new GM or RTW. If you aren’t using LB I would always take the new GM because rangers have so much soft CC.

Cripple Sigil? What cripple sigil?
It was mentioned by internal testers that they have a cripple sigil that would proc on crit. I don’t see it in the final patch notes though so maybe it didn’t make it, which is a shame cuz I was really looking forward to using that with LB1 and the new GM cripple trait.
I imagine they haven’t come to a good ICD yet and wanted to see how all the LB changes would shape up first.
