prolly a bug, submitt a ticket and hope the devs fix this issue. Remorseless on kill DID apply crits before. I know that much.

I know remorseless was reported as very buggy before…it sounds like that still may be the case. That’s disappointing.
Hopefully we see a hotfix soon to address this.

I have the same problem as well. Hopefully it will get patched soon.
How do you introduce a major change to the game like this without catching something as simple as this? Is it a case of it worked on the test server and something broke when they went live, or did they just not test it while paying attention to its full functionality?

P.S. my head is still spinning from a buff patch with no nerfs and now all this dev participation in the ranger forum…. Hope I’m not stuck in some alternate universe.

If it makes you feel better the swap from bleed to vuln on GS is reporting a decrease in DPS which would constitute a nerf. Also putting vuln on rapid shot means none of the hits from rapid shot get the benefit of 10 stacks of vuln like they would have previously, which would also constitute a potential decrease in DPS, so also a nerf.

i like it when a dev say something fast and usefull. iu like when somebody explain something why or why not work something, do something.

Hate to be lke this but I think this has been a known bug since launch. They just never got around to fixing it because probably 0.0001% (I was to say 0% but Iºm sure there is that one guy) of rangers used that trait. Now that it has some situational use, it needs to be fixed. Hope this gets a hotfix as the trait is near worthless without the crit.

Fixing this bug would open up some fun options for the 23k crit maul build (with auto-crits to sustain instead of signets to burst.)

If you’re taking remorseless, you can’t get SotBM, meaning no SotW and SotH to buff up the first attack. At most, you can get +45% boost from traits/runes, which might be good as well, but definitely not as powerful as the 23k maul build.

That is why I called it a “fun option” and sustain rather than the burst from signets. I keep in mind that you will not be able to one shot people with it, but it would be much more interesting to focus on auto-crits with the longbow and greatsword rather than relying on precision. It also makes for fun teamplay with mesmers and thieves. I tried it before and had some fun with it but the bug really breaks the build.

Exactly! A lot of people are forgetting that without these buffs, our weapons still for the most part hit like wet noodles (only exception being the sword and greatsword, but they are still fairly weak). The purpose in a build using remorseless is sustain, not burst.

yeah, but unlike them, they dont have 4 other trait lines with an equal amount of useless minor traits.
Necromancer has similarly useless minor traits, as does the mesmer domination traitline.
