This is getting sad. The real ranger mains are seriously trying to voice out our real feedback for druids, & there is SOO many other people coming in on our threads saying
“Im a Ranger main and i hate the druid blah blah ect.. "

I’m in map and I see people saying they hate rangers and how they go on the forums to troll pretending to give feed back on druids lol …..so I look at their account name and boom what do you know its them!

Yes some rangers might not be completely happy with every detail of the druid, but as far as reading the forums ( all classes) everyday for 3 years I can tell you one thing! The REAL Ranger mains look at what we feel can be better and *make/suggest real changes that are realistic & viable to all aspects of the game.

I Hope one day there is a way for serious main classes are able to put in feed back

example you have class forum where anyone can contribute and underneath
( class main forum) where accounts with a large amount of hours dedicated to the class can enter so we can give experience feed back)

Ha, I know the feeling. But ranger vets don’t have a monopoly on the profession. Probably almost everyone playing GW2 has a level 80 ranger that maybe they’d like to use and don’t know how/don’t feel welcomed in groups.

I’d even say the devs have a responsibility to people who don’t main ranger to at least look at their concerns. Not everyone is a first responder, so AEDs will give you verbal instructions on how to resuscitate someone in cardiac arrest (ok that was a really obscure metaphor, sorry.)

another thing is that discussion made just within a community leads no where good. Other people from outside have to share their opinion at least to have a healty and complete discussion.

That said yes sometime this happens, and even people from other classes come to give false feedback because they do not want other classes to rise in power. But honestly i feel this is like the tiny minority.

i’m not sure if it’s as far as people purposefully trolling the forums to make a particular subforum more toxic than it needs to be, but I do agree that a lot of people are trashing it and such without even giving decent feedback. And many people are already claiming it will be awful when we haven’t even gotten the numbers or tried it out in game (and we don’t know how raids will work either which will be a twist on your average theorycrafting).

I understand not liking it thematically, or being hesitant as to it being a viable spec, but to all-out trash it because we know the theme of the skills, without providing constructive feedback isn’t very helpful

If you leave it on and think hard enough, you are technically baking a potato with it without the need to remove it from your head.

First of all, someone that focus on only one profession and calling it “my main” only show that he is short sighted.

Now, on topic, I doubt that people calling themself rangers in this forum and complaining about the fact that the Druid elite specialization (a ranger traitline) is built around the assumption that the pet is useless and not needed, aren’t people that actually really care about the ranger.

On the other hand, people being overjoyed by the fact that they gain a free additional new mechanism allowing them to discard the pet shouldn’t call them rangers. The celestial form outshine the ranger’s core mechanic, in fact, I’m pretty sure that the one that you call REAL ranger main would be overjoyed if the core profession was the druid with it’s actual mechanism and if the pet was tied to an elite spec called the ranger. (Well, they would most likely complain that there elite spec suck.)

Everyone’s opinion are equally valid as long as they provide excellsior. Personally Ive played all 8 classes throughout my time here and it has certainly broadened my view on classes, such as ranger. It makes it possible to easier provide insight from different angles, which could mean better judgement.

I hardly ever touched the Ranger class until the Druid announcement. My former level 20 Ranger is going to hit level 80 tonight and I even spent a total makeover kit on her to get her ready for HoT. I’m excited for the idea and can hope that whatever improvements need to be made will be in due time.

I don’t contribute much to the Ranger sub-forum in particular, but I wouldn’t want questions or concerns I have about the Druid to be ignored simply because of play-hours on the class. I don’t think that this is quite as big of a problem as it seems to you.

That said, I think it would be interesting if there were ways to show play-hours as a value or percentage of a particular class when you comment on the appropriate sub-forums. This would be useful for determining if people know what they might be talking about, but wouldn’t be terribly restrictive either. GW2 API keys can do this with 3rd-party websites, so they could easily implement it with their own stuff.

I am only at 65% on my ranger (2117 hours ). I thought it would be a lot higher percentage than that. Also my account is worth almost exactly 10k gold… Madre de Dios! Please don’t hack me, almost none of that is tradeable.

Im a main ranger, I started playing the “ranger” character on runescape back in 2005, I played ranger in GW1, I played hunter in WoW, I play ranger in GW2, Ive played so many ranger classes in so many different games, yet its the first time I am playing a class named ranger that doesnt feel anything like a ranger (talking about the druid ofc)

Everyones opinion is an opinion. Saying that other peoples input is not valuable because of your biases is just selfish and disrespectful. In anything you cannot appease everyone. Someone will always have a quarrel. There is no such thing as an invalid opinion unless it basis its self on misinformation. Even if they are out to do damage, there are various reasons such as they struggle with certain aspects of our class and thats a valid opinion and bias. Everyone has different values opinions and visions of the class. OP you need to be more respectful and understanding of others.

There is a lot of people that have some valid concerns, be it that ranger wont get rewarded properly or only useful for the specialization. There are some people that are critical of other classes (and rightfully so). There are also people that don’t want play a heal focused spec. These are all opinions that go against they grain, and yes they are valid opinions.

That said there will be people as you stated that will be trolls and use misinformation to state feedback. If you must, prove these people wrong with facts and educate them on how to deal with things. If they don’t want to be helped then simply move on and don’t feed them anymore. It is the only way you can move forward.

Or some people who play Ranger a lot don’t like Druid, thats a more likely situation.

It bugs me more when I see people cry for ranger nerfs whenever there is positive without even seeing them in game. Many times when seeing the posters, you will notice that their signatures specifically demonstrate that they main other classes.

Yes, the problem is not a newb level 20 ranger to share his opinion.
The problem is when someone that mainly play other class like warrior, thief or mesmer come to this forums asking for nerfs or giving misleading feedback.
Unfortunately we don’t have Robert or Roy both of them have a really clear idea of what is the core profession and what should be done to have a fun and rewarding specialisation.
The Devs in charge of the ranger up until recently were quick to apply nerfs but never to fix or improve the playability of the class. And still there is no communication about anything which lead to more despair.

So yes i could go that far to say that there should be some kind of filter by the devs to take the input based on how many hours you played ranger the last months.

Personally I don’t have a main.

I do find the druid to be a bit lackluster. I throw the word mono-tool around a lot, and I mean it. I guess in certain circumstances a burst heal will be useful, but to run it in PVE I have to give up quickdraw and spotter.

My PvP games played are 90% ranger (1500 games)
My PvE content would be … roughly 80% (I use mesmer for reflect or skipping dungeons)

If my dedication was the merit I’d probably feel lonely here.
My opinion is that more people that behave more adolescent/adult-like should cry out loud. After druid announcement nothing but selfish personal subjective declarations have been held.

I mean, it’s fine to have 1-2 of threads dedicated to this matter. But there have been more threads about how people wanted druid to be a Zerker class (like… Really?) than feedback on how to improve the one already set in stone.
And that’s a bad sign.
