Please change the longbow 1
They’re buffing the attack damage somewhat for the other ranges other than long distance on December 10th. Let’s see how that turns out first, before we start going for this…because the buff might make a difference.

Anet doesn’t care, instead of actually looking into what the true problem is with ranger they just give it 15% more dmg for a skill & hope that the ranger community is satisfied which is just dissapointing.

I know this would never happen, but I’d like them to just scrap the shortbow all together and just combine both bows together:
- Give the Longbow the shortbow’s firing speed
- Longbow 1 would cause bleeding on flank
- Longbow 2 would cause a spread rapid fire shot that poisons
- Longbow 3 I actually like what it does now
- Longbow 4 Pushes them back and cripples them
- Longbow 5 Make it an AoE damaging interrupt with each pulse
That would make for a useful longbow.
I like the idea of that Deadly, though with the last one I’d alter it so it’d cause a random condition each tick. I know that seems like it makes no sense, but think about it…there’s an arrow barrage suddenly getting thrown on you. It’d confuse you, cause you torment, probably cripple you, interrupt you, etc.

I know that seems like it makes no sense, but think about it…there’s an arrow barrage suddenly getting thrown on you. It’d confuse you, cause you torment, probably cripple you, interrupt you, etc.
Ya, an aoe, pulsing interrupt would be incredibly OP when you apply multiple copies of the skill in a single area. I’m all for rangers becoming wvw powerhouses but this would kill the gamemode.

LB with offensive build is viable now both in PVP and WvW.

Yes. I know, sounds stupid…but it WOULD make it so instead of enemies just standing in the Barrage without worry, they’ll rush out of it, realizing it’ll ruin them fast.

Or you know…..increase the damage, or make it cause a root.
I’d like them to build in piercing and take the trait out of marksmanship. There are too many things in that line for longbow and some are just better than others, making the slightly less useful ones redundant.

Honestly, allow barrage to be cast while moving and reduce the cooldown to 20 seconds. Have it give vulnerability. Make rapid fire cause cripple.
We get an area vulnerability (Hey thats nice and strong and good group utility) and the ability for us to get away and slow.
Do that, and wouldn’t even need to move with barrage.
That however, would actually nerf the LB in the DPS race, Hedgehog. We’d lose out on DPS more than anything.

Depends on how long you make the vulnerability last.
If it lasted the entirety of the cooldown, it would be the same(if not higher due to the slightest of increase in AoE)
Honestly, I just want a dependable slow on LB ;(
I’d kind of like a cone AoE on a low cooldown similar to barrage in GW1. A chance of knockdown on the current barrage would be good. Oh, and bring back the damage it had before the stealth nerf.

even at max range the longbow does poor damage
At max range, the long bow is pretty good…
Barrage should be replaced with something more naturey. For example
“Hawk Shot”- Fire a shot with the swiftness of a hawk that causes X damage to your target and the targets near it. Causes cripple. 15 second CD
Barrage is what makes LB a higher dps weapon than the short bow at any ranger (test it for yourself). LB is a power weapon adding condition damage to it would be a nerf.
Vulnerability and cripple (keeping target at range) are the only condition that helps power. Burning, posion would be a waste on this weapon.
Preparation granting some of these other effects or conditions would be a better option.

What I meant by viable is that you can get to top 100 solo queue with it. The build in my video just shows another option for LB.
