Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

I’m only in my 60s, and I’m just returning after a long absence, but I want to commit to a build now that I’ve unlocked my last set of traits.

1. I don’t want to be a glass cannon. (sure I like to pew pew, but I fully realize things go south more often than not, and would like some survivabilty).
2. I want to use a bow (I like ranged, it’s a simple playstyle choice, not to disparage Rangers’ melee abilities).
3. I’d like to be viable in PvE, primarily, and WvW, secondarily.

I’d really appreciate any links to builds that might fit the above bill.

I am also interested in learning more about Ranger-bow builds for PvE! I know very little about build creation, so I’m really green here.

for ranged attacks you have 2 clear choices power/crit or condition damage?

if you want more survivability then condition damage has nice synergy with toughness in the wilderness survival tree

do you preffer longbow or shortbow?

I actually enjoy both bows, but tend to prefer SB for the speed. I might take a second look at LB, though, since I just got a nice yellow LB drop.
