I’m far from being a fan of GW2 PvE, so i would love to get all pets as fast as possible, and get back to WvW.
My suggestion would be to share the locations of pets if any one found them, and lets collect them here:

Already getting a lot of good whisper feedback, post your speculations directly, and whisper me in game, i’ll update list every 15 min. (13:00 > 13:15 > 13:30… etc etc)

NOTE FOR TIGER AND ELECTRIC WYVERN: YOU CANNOT TAXI PEOPLE AFTER 3 BOSSES DIE, MAP CLOSES AND IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO USE TELEPORT TO FRIEND IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE SAME OVERFLOW AND YOU CANNOT TAXI PEOPLE IN.

NOTE: To tame this pet you need to finish 2 hour chain event in Dragon’s Stand which will lead you to fight mouth of mordremoth in area called Dragon Domain. After you kill it, there will spawn large updraft wind that will get you to the chest, and from that location you can fly to hero point where Electrict wyvern spawns.In order to get there you only need Lv2 Glider mastery OR teleport to friend if your friend will be able to go to that area.

I’ve got the suspicion that the Wyvern is locked behind the Itzl Language. There’s a scout at Wyvern Cliffs, right below one of the mesas full of Wyvern… Who I can’t understand due to language issues!

I’m assuming he’ll teach us some way to capture Hatchlings, or lure out the Juveniles, or something.

If this would be true, this would not be justified, it’s holding back class mechanics because of time gated mechanics that will not allow ranger to get full pet kit. I hope you are wrong.

EDIT: no other class has this, same should be with ranger. Every pet till now was achieved by simple map first areas scouting. And some of us don’t like PvE at all.

I’d agree with you – But figured I’d post the guess here anyway. If anyone has Itzl language unlocked already, could you please check? You’ll meet him on your way up those cliffs with the mushrooms.

ive seen one person with fire wyvern, she said she fell off the canopy at the pale reaver’s camp. and that she glided and it was on a floating island. ive had no luck trying to find this place

Can confirm Fire Wyvern in the first HoT map.

Canopy above the Pale Reavers, then you fly off east. [EDIT1:] You can get up that canopy through the helicopter that spawns at the later part of the Nights. (It has a map marker) at the first ‘camp’ you come across if you enter the map.

[EDIT2:] Alternately, you can fly south from the Canopy Over Pact Encampment.

No sign of electric wyvern just yet.

do u know how to get up there?

You have to wait for a helicopter to get there (Though I think you can also get up there with Updrafts – Can’t confirm that yet.)

It happens at night, usually around the 30 minute mark, I -think-. From then, the heli stays there until daybreak and you can use it to get up there.

Use a chopper (night time) to get to the canopy near the Pact Commander WP. From there glide to the area where the legendary wyvern spawns (I think), you can’t miss it it’s a big grey “arena”. From there glide to the green island south of it.
There was only one fire wyvern there, took some time to locate it as well.

This is the flat area where chopper will drop you down: [Matriarch’s Perch]
from there you just have to jump down from correct edge and you can glide there without any problems (have lvl 1 gliding)

Anet loves to troll us i guess:P it happened that i’ve found fire wyvern by watching the day night cycle because i though smokescale will be some where between dawn and night. ^^ It seems i’m kind of correct, waiting on that location for next 10 min if it doesn’t spawn i’ll check again in 1 hour :P

I’ve honestly spent hours there. Still didn’t spawn smokescales. I’m not sure if its a bug or if I’m doing it wrong. For those that are still trying to get smokescale, just keep on doing the nearby events. Hope you guys have better luck!

I’ve honestly spent hours there. Still didn’t spawn smokescales. I’m not sure if its a bug or if I’m doing it wrong. For those that are still trying to get smokescale, just keep on doing the nearby events. Hope you guys have better luck!

I hung around there for a while, and they ended up spawning shortly after the map meta event finished. Regular enemy smokescales spawned there for a while before the juveniles started popping up, so give it some time.

I’ve sat around waiting for an hour, hour and a half (I heard they’re supposed to spawn at night, but I don’t think the day/night cycles take that long…). I had a guild mate help me clear out those Chak things…. the Smokescale enemies spawned back in the area, but the juvenile ones never did. I’ve sent in a ticket thinking there might be a problem with them, but haven’t heard back though if there’s something you have to do that I’m missing then I would be most grateful to have it explained.

What kiwituatara.6053 said, was a hint, i didn’t found it this way. I did come to this location every 20 min to check if it’s there and found it yesterday evening 22:09 at day time. You should do the same, it’s the least frustrating way.

Now you know the location, but be accurate every 20 min (0:00 > 0:20 > 0:40 ) don’t check the area with random 20 minutes. In my opinion this smokescale always spawn at day time, every body that spawn found them were tamed at day time. ( you can see that from map hour on minimap)

I wasn’t joking when I said I sat there for an hour. I parked there and watched a movie…. Are you saying I have to leave the area and come back every 20 min to get it to spawn?

a guide from some dev would be really helpful, it’s ridicoulous that we have to go thru all this just to tame some pets

S’all good. Sorry if I came off surely >.> This has been… beyond frustrating and I’m used to “;)” being… dismissive. Jumped the gun a bit in my judgement.

Edit: I’ve checked three times now at 20 min intervals. There are other rangers here. One said they’ve been at it for 4 hours and haven’t seen anything either. Something has to be wrong otherwise this is insane…..

I don’t understand the problem with the smoke-scale. Just do the events for the frogs that are trying to raise bugs to defend them, if you manage to up their defenses sufficiently the smoke scales will start spawning, if nobody bothers with the event they won’t spawn.

The Ranger Pets SmokeScales do not spawn.

We’ve been doing that, but as others have pointed out while the aggressive smokescales will spawn without fail the pet ones wont’ no matter how many times the event is done or what tier the map is at. Every time I check that area now I’m seeing rangers camping at the spawn area, some of them the same ones I’ve seen before and nobody is having any luck.

You need to push it to T4 (mouse over mini-map to check tier). Defend the laser event for 15mins. The juvenile smokescales spawn after the laser fires. Fight over smokescales with other rangers.

When I ran down there just an hour ago, an event ended and there they were… mostly all yellow’s, a red vet, and some other reds but there was a single juvenile behind a tree just camping out. The map reward I saw said Tier 3 so that should be good enough.

I’ve yet to confirm, or find exactly where it is, but I asked today in map where the Tiger was and someone said they saw a Juvenile Tiger at Stonetwist?
