I think the regen change was a good quality of life change. I think changing astral force so you can only generate it when you are actually HEALING someone is understandable… What I don’t understand is if this is the case, if Astral Force is going to be gated in this manner, then why do we lose Astral Force when we enter the downed state?
The main reason for this is that the druid, and his/her teammates require full Astral Force in order to enter Celestial form and heal his/her team. When we lose Astral Force on downed AND can’t generate Astral Force when “healing” someone who has full health means that the druid can’t do what it has been designed to do. If a druid is in a team fight, goes down, and gets revived but had 99% Astral Force before going down they now have 0% which means the druid cannot heal him/herself or his/her team. It just doesn’t seem right to me.

Shameless self bump as I highly doubt they will reverse this change and this is the only sensible buff we could get to balance this out imo.

Maybe we could also get more astral force when dealing dmg, than we currently get?
Seeing as we cant get any from making our heals hit full hp targets (i loved collecting it from my pet), getting some more from dealing dmg seems fair to me.
It might also open up some less staff reliance builds.

Im glad someone made a post about this. I was thinking the exact same thing last night. We have more ways to generate af now. We have limited opportunities. Losing af on down never made sense and only feels worse now.
As a side note, its nice to see you back on a team. Excited to see what you and final form do in pro leagues.

Yeah, astral force is a very strange resource mechanic at the moment (comparatively), and the fact that it gets 100% removed on down is really nonsensical.

Second, as far as relative power levels. Retaining astral force on down would be huge for us. We should also be able to retain whatever amount of astral force we have. Exit with 80%? Keep 80%. Strong for sure but if none of the other classes are getting shaved then this isnt op. Just my additional 2 cents.

Honestly, I think it’s even worse. A necromancer already has a larger health pool (plus Shroud, so there is a much wider margin for error), Shroud (re)generates much, much faster, Shroud can be entered before it is 100% filled, and—most importantly for group content—other team members are not relying on the necromancer’s Shroud to stay alive and effective.
A necromancer going down, even losing Shroud, cannot wipe a whole team. A Druid going down and losing CA can (and probably already does).
