Juvenile wyverns look like 2 ton hippopotamuses with webbed toes on their front legs. It’s comically, ridiculously out of balance. Ya ya magic, but does it have to look so friggen goofy?

Physics get different (for lack of a better word? Obviously the same physics.) when you get down to insect scale. The insects in GW2 probably couldn’t fly either. Or even stand.

Dude its a baby dragon, he doesnt need bigger wings (IMO) and I find it perfectly fine. Be happy that you get this awesome pet even if it doesnt have the most realistic size. Why do people have to complain about anything..

Kind of like how hippos glide through water!

there’s also theories out there that could suggest that they wouldn’t need massively large wings if they sported gas sacs in their body, containing a gas that is both inflammable and lighter than whatever gas we currently breathe in the world of Tyria. it would also couple with the fact that they can breath fire, which would work similarly to the bombardier beetle. However they have the trade-off that the more fire they breath, the harder it gets to fly, until eventually they can’t fly at all.

With all that said… it’s a vidya game. I think hippo dragons look cool.

they are no birds – your logic doesnt apply…they are dragons – they have 1’000’000 the muscle power of birds and the fire they produce in their belly gives them updrift!

This is what breaks your suspension of disbelief? We already have drakes that can shoot lightning from it’s mouth. Some of our pets are clearly magical in nature.

The wyverns especially can also breath fire and lightning. Obviously magical.

Not a suspension of disbelief but the fact they just look dumb. Imagine our brown bear model doing the fire wyvern F2*; some models and animations just do not look good together.

*Which makes me laugh out loud imagining it, but that’s not really what I want from my pet.

That show had a lot of great moments IMO. That is one of the best.
