Trapper's Expertise Rework
Cripple + frost is the same as post patch it slows a target to a crawl perfect for Bonfire or combo a maul into, the two condis force Leap or movement skills .
slow is more of a prevention to quickness to slow attacks rather than movement.
They haven’t even fixed the part where healing spring doesn’t heal your pet.

I mean replace cripple with the new slow condition, now even leap skills will be useless.
Sure, I wouldn’t mind some Resistance on Healing Spring with Trapper’s Expertise. As for Slow on Frost Trap, Anet seems to want to keep that condition limited among classes. It’s a powerful condition when used correctly, and so far, I have seen it on 2 moves – Time Warp & Forced Engagement – both of which have high costs (180s cooldown / 50 energy, respectively).
Though it’s a good suggestion, I don’t think Anet would allow such a powerful condition on a trap that can be traited for a 24s cooldown unless they bump up the base cooldown significantly (like Spike Trap when it received a knockdown), which would be a downside for those that use Frost Trap without taking Trapper’s Expertise.

How can you say it only benefits offensive traps? the CD on healing spring is reduced and the regeneration increased it absolutely benefits from the trait whether it’s good enough is another question and yes it would be nice if the bloody thing started healing our pets again it’s amazing how long negative bugs cling on while the slightest beneficial bug always seems to be handled instantly…
it would also be nice if the spring spawned ON US
like all other traps

OP is referring to the added Cripple applying to offensive traps only. Thus, why he is proposing Healing Spring obtain a Resistance bonus from Trapper’s Expertise.

It does,
CD = Both defensive and Offensive
Boon Duration/ Condi Duration = Both defensive and offensive
Cripple = Only Offensive.
I was hoping HS was getting more because it is the only defensive trap.

idea for trap change make them charge up dmg the longer they are out before activated that way you might not only wanna use them as a aoe where you are standing and instead place them in antisipation of an attack and or even save them for later use
