Will Wyverns....
Agree, Anet need Improve pets Wyverns, they are slow and could cause them to bite in return for kicks
Take to improve a lot in the Wyverns, since they are slow, they could take more damage in return or have faster attacks
Wyverns are bad and they could use improvements. Attack speeds and animations might be set in stone, but little things could be done for their [F2] commands that could make then a little bit worth while.
I’d be happy if they buffed the Fire Wyvern [Consuming Flames] to pulse a 2s blind and increase the radius from 300 to 360. That and have the Electric Wyvern [Lightning Assault] to create a lightning field trail rather than end with a singular lightning field AOE. Possibly have it tick for moderately-low damage.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
I do look forward to these fixes, but I will still use Electric Wyvern as one of my slotted pets to help crush a breakbar.
Yeah. Even though Wyverns aren’t the best pets, I slot the E. Wyvern every now and then for break bars and the F. Wyvern for when I run conditions in open-world. They really just need minor buffs to make them shine.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
The wyverns need a ton of work to be useful.
Not only are their attacks slow as heck to the point where they can be avoided by players with zero effort and even by normal mobs if they aren’t 100% stationary, but their DPS is also awful even if they do manage to hit things. They have similar DPS to stuff like Moas and pigs, with the only advantage being they hit AoE (but so do drakes, and drakes have decent DPS, so that’s really no reason for it). Their F2 skills are woefully underwhelming. The Fire Wyvern’s does mediocre damage, deals some minor burn stacks that drop off way too fast, and the fire field is wonky. Electric Wyvern’s does even worse damage, has a pointless lightning field that does nothing, and leaves the pet having to chase down its opponent afterwards, which is very bad given how slow they attack and how bad they are at chasing enemies down. Wing Buffet will activate at its exact range limit, which means the first hit will knock enemies out of the rest of the hits even though it barely moves enemies at all.
I’d say the wyverns need all of the following to be considered good…
~ Attack speed increase. Seriously. Just this alone would probably make them decent at least.
~ Better F2 skills. Fire Wyvern’s should do more damage and the burn stacks should last a few seconds rather than just dropping off immediately. The fire field should also start as soon as the attack starts and just expand over the duration much like the Reaper’s GS#4. Electric Wyvern’s needs more damage, needs to create a trail of electricity instead of just a circle at the end, and the lightning field needs to do something (damage, debuffs, ally buffs, whatever). Oh, and it should be a leap finisher, because look at it. Clearly leap finisher material.
~ Fix the AI for Wing Buffet so that it doesn’t use the attack at max range and blow enemies out of it
~ Possibly add a Blast finisher to Wing Buffet, though that may be pushing it and may step on the toes of Drakes too much.
Sadly, I’m not holding my breath for buffs. Its all been brought up before even during beta by myself and others and nothing has come of it.
Take a look at pigs or devourers. Wyverns are useless for the rest of GW2s life.

They don’t buff the crappy pets ever. They nerf the good ones so that they are more in line with the crappy ones. Pretty much how they reasoned with longbow/shortbow – in order to make the longbow more attractive, they nerfed the shortbow. Anet logic.
All I want for Christmas is a Lil’ Smuag to be good.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on this one.

A lot of PvE content means constantly stacked might, fury and swiftness.
I keep my secondary pet a Wyvern myself. For the very same reason as you do.
Clarrion Bond (Warhorn #5 from pet swap) is not really needed at many places.
