I’m wondering which does more dps on a zerker gear build, shortbow or longbow? I use might too and I think might also buffs condition damage.. but let’s ignore that. Let’s assume that the shortbow player is able to flank.

longbow will get you the kills. LB is also better for PVE because of vulnerability which is huge for your group. LB benefits way more from might.

SB is a skirmishing/utility weapon.

If you’re going with those stats, you’ll probably have a sword/something on switch. Aside from longbow skills feeling disconnected and not quite hitting a threshold, you have to be out of melee and even leap range to get max damage which means less damage overall closing the gap and creating one.

Longbow will do more damage in the DPS arena by far. The only drawback will be you need to make sure you stay at your max range (1500 range is a must for longbow). In my opinion a Ranger with a longbow is the greatest asset in WvW, barrage is irreplaceable (don’t know how many times I have picked off ballistas tucked away in a corner. Like kash said I would not go with Longbow/shortbow. I personally run with Longbow/Axe and Horn.

LB/GS is by far the best combo in my opinion. GS is absolutely essential for getting away. with signet of the hunt, you have some of the best mobility in the game.

i would also recommend speccing as much into BM and skirmishing as possible. u need the crit, u need the low LB CD and pets synergize beautifully with LB.

I just use both in WvW.

depends on you play style i would say.. long bow is great at range if you can keep the range up it’s amazing with the point blank shot that sends ppl off cliffs XD
shortbow is good for the -33% heal and keeping conditions up but you tend to be closer to your enemy

are going to use it for spvp, tpvp or pve?

Barrage is so freaking amazing in WvW when you’re full zerker. it’s one of the most underrated ranger skill by far.

For your reference.

For full Berserker’s, Barrage is hands-down your biggest damage source. But Crossfire + Bleed will outshine both Long-Shot and Rapid Shot, even without any condition damage.

So why not use both? That’s what I do. I primarily run Shortbow/Longbow, and swap to Longbow only to use 3/5/2. What second weapon set are you using?

also if you pop sharping stone after it applies bleeds too.. not sure if it works in WvW tho like if there is a max affected player cap, altho probably you guys probably already know most tricks

My second weapon is axe/horn.

GS for pve. with QZ, high crit and pet swap u deal ridiculous aoe while dodging.

longbow works well for pve because of the 10 stacks of vulnerability “20 if traited” that will benefit your group as said by another player above..

and the knock back skill is very handy to have for crowd control

and barrage to Aoe adds down

Short bow, long bow bores me rigid. (It’s so slow).

I run shortbow with Zerker (GS as alt for movement).

That said, I am full BM.

So I run 0/30/0/10/30
