Hey guys, I always play a ranger in all my games but I’m having trouble liking the medium armor in this game at my level (32) I’ve seen other rangers in wvw who are higher level and they look awesome, so I’m wondering when do you finally get some cool lookout gear and if your ranger is your main, are you happy with your choice ? And wats your favorites thing about it? Thanks guys

Only decent looking medium armors come from dungeons…

I currently have a “female” Sylvari ranger as my main and I’ve ran the Twilight Arbor to get the full Nightmare exotic armor set, which in my opinion is the best looking armor in game.

And I’m very happy that I rolled a ranger as my first class. In fact my second char is also a ranger.

What I do is transmutate equipment from karma vendors in the maps that I play in or armor from story missions. I seem to find armor that looks a lot better doing it this way. I feel that once you get to 40 you start seeing better weapons/armor skins. So just need to tough it out and you will start feeling better about your medium armor. I’m level 56(ranger) and I feel as if that my character almost looks the way I want him to at this point.

So just stick it out and you will start seeing better skins for your character.

So far I have not found any shoulder Armor that fits for the look I like. I really like the asymmetry of the Ranger Armor in GW1 and that’s really what I am looking for.

The shoulder armor for the Sorrow’s Embrace explorable mode exotic set is asymmetrical.

yea i know the explorer sets look awesome but you have to be 80, is there anything at 35 with a different helm like a hood or something, definatly not feeling the old english hat lol or wat level do u get some nice masks,hoods,non trenchcoats? i liked the coats in gw1 they were more woodsy ikittennow wat i mean

The CoF armor is imo a cool looking piece of armor. Who dosent want to see kitten flames coming out? The helmet is pretty ugly though, but if u get the Order of Whisperers and transmute it looks epic.

For human female, I’m looking to save up the tier 3. Otherwise other than what i have now, I’m not sure I’ve found anything else I like. I guess you can get decent looking stuff at max levels for sure though

The cultural armor you are able to buy starting at like 45 (I think?) looks pretty sweet. These vendors are in the Black Citadel, just look on the map. The second tier unlocks at 60 BTW.

Start crafting man, medium armor crafting looks cool. The rare recipies you buy from vendors make you look like nobility, or you can craft a pretty sleek looking leather coat around level 30. At either 40 or 50 you get a really awesome looking leather coat with lots of big leather panels over your body and asymmetrical shoulders.

JUST DON’T USE THE PIRATE COAT.

I’m sick of seeing the kitten pirate coat on every kitten ranger in the game.

I’m at work so I can’t login to check, but I’m 40 and just got the sickest looking med coat. I’ll prob transmute any future chest pieces to this for a while. Lucky, cuz it was just a 40c upgrade i nabbed off the TP (no preview mode boo) but it turned out to look really sweet. I should push my LW if the recipes look cool. LOVE the transmute ability in this game.

I had to LOL at this statement. I used the pirate set for a time because I liked the idea of being a pirate with a pet bird. Then I noticed everyone was looking like a pirate, so I switched to the noble skin. It looks a little like steampunk to me, which makes me wish rangers could use rifles.

yea seras if u could find out the name thatd be awesome since i just hit 40, ive been doing real good with ranger in wvw and its making me stick with it for now but honestly if i have to go another 40 levels looking the same its ganna bug me, ive been thinking about making a warrior but idk. i really just want a hood or a mask its not so much the chest piece but that bugs me too. so does anyone know earliest level to get a mask/hood and not a bandana or that pirate hat?
