While the quickness stomp got nerfed standing behind pet is nice and so is the trait that transfers a CC every 90 sec. Beside that most of the time stomping just takes 2 approaches anyway.

While yes, traited Signet of the Wild is our only stability utility, we also have Lightning Reflexes and Quickening Zephyr as stun breaks, as well as Rampage as One for a long period of stability.

Also we might not have too many disruption skills (except Sb #5, which is very good btw) we do have a lot of dodges/evades. I tried a new Sb/Sword + dagger build last night. Quite useful I might say.

Unfortunately, with the recent quickness nerf, the pet swapping stomp usually ends up getting interrupted now.
With that said, and I know it is not optimal AT ALL, I took a little comfort in Shared Anguish (III in the Wilderness Survival tree). I know I know, it’s only once every 90 seconds and many times it gets used up in combat. But, when this actually eats an interrupt and allows a stomp, it has to make ya giggle a little bit.
Sadly to say, since the quickness nerf, successful first attempt stomps are hard to come by.
There should be a shout which makes the pet stomp(I mean, there is one to make it rezz after all)

Pet swap doesn’t seem to work anymore. I finish my animation, then have to wait the full time before it will spike. Also if I get interupted after the haste stomp, and before the end of the normal time… it won’t spike. So I’ve just stopped doing swap stomps. Rampage as one is amazing. With boon duration runes you have 28 seconds of stability… which is an INSANE amount of time to have stability for. I use it more often than entangle now, as any class that relies on stuns for their burst or cc… can’t do anything to me. And for 28 seconds I get to have complete control of the battle (it doesn’t often get stripped, as I also have vigor, regen, swiftness, and fury up most of the time.
To secure a stomp vs a
warrior, stand behind pet.
guardian – pretend to stomp, then dodge the knockback and stomp again.
Thief – pretend to stomp, move and stomp immediately when they blink
mesmer – pretend to stomp, forcing them to blow the invis. Wait for them to appear and use no other skills (they will hit you with confusion) just stomp
Ranger – like guardian, pretend, dodge interrupt then stomp, if they have a dog or wolf, watch out for knockdown and fear.
engineer – stand behind pet, stomp asap. bomb can ruin your day.
necro – pretend, dodge, stomp
ele – Don’t bother pretending, dps them then chase after thier mist form and stomp. Or leave them to get eaten by your pet and laugh on their trolly corpse.
I do agree, we need pet finishers, mortal-combat-esque. Bear could rip a guys head off, wolf could call in his pack and they rip out his gizzards, spider could lay eggs in his belly and make him explode, bird goes “The Birds” status and pecks enemies eyes out, pig…. I don’t know what pig would do….. etc etc.

They could totally make it a second function of “Sick Em!” If used on a downed player they’ll try to finish them for the 10s

WTB trait that makes it so your pet auto helps you to rez when you rez people and to finish people when you finish them… Me and my hyena army would become unstoppable!!

wouldn’t it be awesome if pet rez utility worked as a finisher on downed enemies, i would take that in pvp then

I think this is yet another reason to bring the quickness trait up to a 3 second duration. Quickness has already taken a huge hit, so it’s not like this can be as overpowered as the swap-stomp combo was before the nerf.

idk even if I use it and not being blind in spvp and pvp still does not interrupt the action, idk if its a quickness thing thiefs got but they still get off the stomp right as they are leaving stealth or within 2 sec after stealth… cloak and dagger is still only 3 sec isn’t it? now that im thinking about it what is the range for stomp compared to the radius of our interrupt?

CnD can be buffed up to 4 i believe, and you need to save it, not launch it as soon as they go into stealth or else they will still be able to get one off before falling out of stealth.

Yes actually, i have tried it a lot of times. In fact, my thief friend, with whom i skype while playing always says: “how did you know god kitten it”.
Edit: Now that i think of it, it may be that i ended up getting another target near my corpse and since its aoe it interrupted him. However, i think it works without anything too as i remember dueling with him alone.
