It is tragic how this class is neglected by devs and compared to other classes in the game we must have the lamest set of utility skills .

Why do we have to use triats for active signets effects? I don’t understand that , any other class in game have to do it ?

We don’t have proper skill to remove conditions SOR is a joke on 60 sec cd that does not work when pet is dead or away. it should remove cond from ranger on use and pet should get buffs per cond it pulled from nearby players.

Lighting reflexes is another lame skill on 40 sec cd. It should remove all snare cond on ranger while rolling in direction you character faces. Look at eng. rocket boots, low cd and superb utility skill. And if anywhere LR is the skill were you should add stealth not on longbow.

Why we don’t have more F2 skill to pick what I want to use with my pet ?
Boars for eg. could use charge skill that knocks target to the ground, ore skill that would create mud trap to snare target for a moment. forage skills should pop up in to pet F2 slot so I can use it on demand not to look for it on the ground.

All cats dog and wolfs could use Drag skill that snares and drags target towards ranger. That’s just few simple ideas that pop up in to my head while I was writing this.

Next lame skill is guard , does anyone use this ever? It should work more like this:
pet guards area that enemy players cant move in or out ,also depending on which pet ranger use guarded area buffs friendly players or debuffs enemies .

W have lame utility skills on way to long cd. Please tell me if my ideas are moronic , op do not fit in to the game lore? I am not going to mention weapons buffs and pet Ai here because we ask for this constantly on the forums

It would be nice if we had a developer swing by and answer a few questions. We saw in the 10/15 patch preview thread that we have some weapon skill changes possibly coming in the future, but we didn’t get any substantive ones in the official patch. It would be nice to know what kind of stuff may be coming in the future.

As you mentioned with F2 skills, it would be nice to hear ANet officially comment on them. We’ve had individual players come in and try to assure us that ANet knows and is making changes from talking to them at events, but those comments don’t match up with a year’s worth of patches and red posts.

I think more than anything I want ANet to tell us what they want this class to do. Many of us don’t even know that much about this class. We’re here playing a class with no defined role or purpose in this game.

For a class with limited AE, no real burst, mostly single target condition application, split DPS with a pet that barely works, very little group utility, no WvW role, and no real power build option you’re not left with much else to fit this class into.

Some attention from ANet, even if it’s more smoke up our [censored] would be a welcome change.

I agree with our poor on demand condition removal. Empathic bond is essentially a random condition removal—we can’t use it when we need it most. SOR is too long a cooldown to use for its active effect.

I disagree with about LR. When traited it has a reasonable cooldown and is a real life saver. LR is very good as is.

I use Guard Me all the time, with the Nature’s voice trait in the WS survival line. It provides perma swiftness and perma regen, plus gives your pet 33% damage reduction. Without the trait, it is certainly lackluster, but when traited, you can create a build around it!

And don’t get me started on F2! I agree that it really doesn’t work. Every other class when they press their class mechanic button, something happens. The thief mugs someone, the necro gets that shroudy thing… F2 works, right away, no delay. Always.

No reason that the F2 for pets should ALWAYS fire, and immediately. Fine for it to have a reasonable cast time to allow for dodging, etc, but it should START immediately, and not after the pet has finished its current action, run around, and moved position.

Bredin, I concur with f2, it never fails on my other class, seems like it never works when pressed on my Ranger.
