Explanation of revenant changes
Devs are subpar players and everyone knows it (see Helseth vid). I highly doubt that the man in charge of balance even knows how rev works let alone played him. If you wish to get any explanation then good luck. They aim to delete rev off meta, nothing else and honestly with that nerf they managed to do that.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
The explanation is simple.
20 energy for a teleport + unblockable attacks is too much for that much energy.

Don’t be stupid, pro league teams running two of these in pretty much every team and you actually complain about some balancing? That is clearly needed? ….
It was the only shiro utility with a CD and now has the highest energy cost over the stun break which can be used over and over. If they want to add 75? more of an energy requirement, then rremove the CD so I have more of a reason not to just run at someone and save my energy.

But was underpowered in WvW roaming where most of builds are usually ranged builds that relly on passive damage and strong disengage (stealth and skills to get out the range). Due hammer being useless as ranged weapon in solo roaming the PT nerf can potentially kill the viability of Revs in that role (and is even worse for condi builds, due Mallyx means ~impaired to move).
Still, could be worse. Could be a Guardian.
Reminds me of the sledgehammer ride the lightning nerf to d/d Ele that saw it go from top3 to unplayed in PvP for 3 months.
A good balance team makes small frequent changes, and never by more than 20% in any direction.

some people thought i was exaggerating when i said Revenant is going to end up at the bottom. This is what happened to warrior, they just kept needling it until it broke and didnt do anything about it for months.

i get a build and playstyle that i enjoy pat down, then once again Anet decides to be moronic. What was the f!@kng point of nearly doubling phase traversal requirement. There are still too many trash legends, and a very limited number of trait combinations that actually make sense
All you have succeeded in doing now is completely slow down rev to a near standstill forcing people to either take hammer or suffer mobility issues with staff (which thanks to the constant damage nerfs doesnt pay off as much anymore). And hammer is slow and has much less defense making it horrible for PvP.
What about condi rev? Shiro mobility was what made it work as if riposting shadows nerf wasnt bad enough.

this class will be dead in wvw, but they dont care about wvw only their stupid pvp pro leauge.
Yeah, I couldn’t understand a slight nerf, but to almost double the cost of the ability seems a little excessive and makes it very difficult to handle some engagements when your main initiation/gap closer cripples your ability to follow up with anything else.

we are talking about burning 3 CDs of 60 secs, 30 secs, and 21 secs compared to a 1200 range 5 sec CD skill…..

Then again, using Phase Traversal (alongside almost any weapon skill) puts a pseudo-cooldown on ALL Revenant skills.
Also consider that Thief Shortbow 5 alone can cover 900 units several times with a single Initiative bar (which isn’t limited solely by time/swapping) and also has many more gap closers, like Steal, Heartseeker, Sword 2, etc.
Revenant can use Phase Traversal once upon swapping to Shiro and is then stuck.
Changes like these wouldn’t be so annoying if the rest of the class wasn’t so crippled.
Revenant is a little too good at its job in pvp, so apparently it’s fine to nerf and neuter it everywhere else and never fix any issues.

LOL! You conveniently forgot to add that Revenant also burns 70% of his energy upon use… assuming he has 50 energy at skill use, which usually is a no.
