Phase Traversal
Use it like the one guardians have. Target something far in the distance outside the range of the skill (ambient creatures work well) and you jump ahead but will not enter combat. Thus you get the speed “boost” without the slowdown of combat.
Jenna Gracen – Scrapper && Merit Sullivan – Guardian
Daenerys Ceridwen – Druid && Vexia Gracen – Chronomancer
Sadly, I tried to do that and it didn’t work. Did this work for other people?
Also, I was hoping that this would be helpful out in and out of combat. There were a number of times I wished I could ‘leap’ forward on my Rev when a Vet Smokescale and company were wrecking my kitten.
I used it on a target too far away. I hopped forward a little but didn’t do the shadow step.
Same here. It seems to jump a short range forward and then shadowstep, but the shadowstep component only occurs if you’re in range of your target.
Astaxanthas (Revenant), Hepaticus (Engineer), Eosinophus (Thief)
I have said before that I would love for Phase Traversal to be Revenants main ooc mobility (in that it works without a target too) in addition to the swiftness stack that is coming soon.
We will have to see what glint brings, but it just makes sense to me to have phase traversal work the full distance without a target, especially with Shiro being an assassin, given other classes mobility.
(This is given that there will also be a new cooldown or similar coming on legend swapping out of combat that will prevent an infinite number of dashes that people predicted on the other threads)

it’s a waste of energy compared to impossible odds for ooc mobility. And if you use both you just lower your superspeed uptime.
I’ve honestly never felt I needed leaps for OOC mobility on any class and I found Impossible Odds did a good job during the BWE. I didn’t bother using legend swap to regain energy because Roy said it’s getting a OOC cooldown on legend swap, and I found energy fills back up fast enough for impossible odds to be viable mobility.

Even with ooc cd, it’s not the end of the world to use lightning field+blast for swiftness, since superspeed on the other swap compensates for that second you lose (at least with hammer)

Roy has stated they’re probably adding a OOC cooldown to legend swap so this is most likely going away.

In addition to Dstroya, as everyone has said in all posts discussing mobility so far
Super speed = swiftness out of combat
Legend swap cooldown reduces swiftness to about 50%
A swiftness stack will be coming, which will therefore completely replace this ability as it is better in all aspects
Either way this upkeep ability alone makes Revenant the least mobile class in the entire game.
