Dear guy-who-played-support-rev-in-that-one-pvp-match,

Revenant never looked all that interesting to me, despite being the newest thing on the block. None of the legends had really grabbed me and the only Rev weapon that caught my attention was staff. In PvP I’ve yet to face a Rev that I didn’t roll right over without even know what the hell they were trying to do (Granted, I am a lockdown Mesmer.).

Then you came along.

I didn’t notice at first, but I found myself outnumbered in a 2v1. Though I was handling the fight decently, I was constantly forced to teleport off-point and was rapidly losing ground. (This was Mid @Temple of the Silent Storm ) The 2v1 then turned into a 3v1, and right when I thought I was finished, right when my health was at 4%, my life jumped up. The 3v1 turned into a 3v2, but I didn’t notice you, I just kept fighting for my life. This strange tablet-thing (that I thought was a pet at first) kept stalking me, and you would never leave my side.

My life never dropped beyond 30% after that, and when it did you always boosted me back.

So I don’t know how you did it, but Healing Revenant & Lockdown Chronomancer fought off a 3v2 gloriously. You made me interested in Revenant and showed me that healing support can actually be a thing which is amazing, since its my favorite form of gameplay and I had assumed impossible to achieve. You followed me around after that, I assume you were using me as a test subject (appropriate, since you were an asura) and I learned quickly to fight alongside your tablet.

We never were defeated the rest of the match. You rock, Ventari Rev.

Bunker/support revenant is better than most people think. I think Supcutie was surprised when he couldn’t get my health below 75%.

I like that the block on staff about lines up with mind wrack cooldown

I didn’t find anyone I could really play up the support aspect with though. It should be interesting to see how effective it is with the fixed modifiers for an additional 60% or so outgoing healing.

And he did that with +outgoing healing traits not working in that build good for you guys hehe.

Actually I was able to delevoped a build with 117% outgoing healing at peak and a minimum of 60% averaging at 90%. It should be able to heal around 6k/Natural Harmony

With that outgoing healing signet it’s possible to get more I just personally didn’t find it worth taking.

This has at least intrigued me to the possibilities of Ventari. If nothing else it sounds like it will be good for trolling Courtyard.

Vent/glint might be really good anchor for a team, since guard is a “smiter monk w/o holy damage” it looks like revenant can take the support place.

Ya i’ve planned to run a similar build to the one the op says, this give me reinsurance that it’ll work lol, . . except im more of a slefish healer lool gunna have that tablet on top of me :P

The interesting thing about the Ventari healing is that technically you don’t even have to be there, in a teamfight, to heal. Which makes it nice if there’re a lot of AoE builds. You can really stay out if you want or hang out on outskirts.

The bad thing is that if people jump on you and you don’t have your tablet around, they may get few hits in before it gets to you.

Another interesting aspect is “skillshotting” with Tablet itself – just Tablet passing ally heals easily for 1,5k or more, not counting and outgoing healing bonuses. With Glint it also applies Protection.

I’m incredibly hyped about Healing Revenant personally and with amount of interaction with Roy we’re getting, I really do see it becoming an amazing option.

Thing with Revenant’s healing is that a lot of it will depend on players you heal. If they ignore your Tablet, constantly move out of range, ignore your Healing Orbs/Natural Fragments and don’t peel for you when you’re vulnerable, you won’t go too far.
But once someone gets the whole concept, it’s going to be glorious.
