It took you two days to implement a flavor animation while working on the rest of the class and reading the forum. If every developer had that kind of drive, the game would be flawless by this point.

This might be a little more balance related, but while you’re testing out cool dodge animations, would you mind turning Deathblossom into a Whirlwind Attack style skill shot?

Added a cool thief-y animation to Revenant dodges. Did an awesome job staying true to Shiro (assassin) flavor. Added an evade to Unrelenting Assault (which it needed). Thought I would give it a shot.

Engi, Mesmer and Ranger have no real graphical effects to apply to a dodge. I mean, you could add butterflies to Mesmer, but why? They don’t help you dodge.
Mesmer i think a pink/purple blur would be thematically appropriate. I mean, the whole point is to evade, their powers are all about distorting perceptions, so it would make sense for them to do some kind of illusory thing to help improve their dodge effectiveness.
TBT, i thought they already had a visual cue, though. maybe it’s just a unique sound, like thief
I don’t think it really has to be thematically appropriate. I think adding profession-specific tells to dodge animations would make it easier (particularly for players with low res or small screens) to see when a player is dodging. It wouldn’t have to be anything too elaborate, but some sort of extra audio/visual cue that would inform you that the enemy is currently evading could go a long way IMO.

Yay, I like thief for similar extra bit of flavor… nice to see revenant getting it too. Also, from this message are we to assume the next BWE will be soon™, maybe next week to coincide with PAX reveals?

I missed the news that this was going to be added in, but I must say, this is a fantastic idea and I am so happy that it’s going to be implemented. Makes the wait to play my new main all the more unbearable!

Yup! We’ll be making posts soon™ talking about changes that came out of BWE2 feedback and internal testing for all the elite specializations in the last beta. This will include the dodge FX on revenant which you’ll get to see in BWE3.
