80 Necromancer (IRNY), 80 Guardian (IRNY)
GW2: it’s like DAoC, but for the WoW crowd.

I find the Revenant rather clunky. My impressions and some suggestions…
1. Impossible Odds is blocked while Facet of Nature is active.
Solution: Impossible Odds deactivates Facet of Nature upon activation and places it on cooldown.
2. Soothing Bastion interrupts everything and roots you randomly. Usually right after I use Infuse Light (Glint Heal) or when I am in the middle of downing someone.
Solution: Have Soothing Bastion trigger Infuse Light for 3 seconds instead of Crystal Hibernation. Increase Soothing Bastion cooldown to 60 seconds. (Equivalent to Warriors Defy Pain which is only a Master ability and lasts 4 seconds).
3. Impossible Odds will not deactivate when stunned, dazed, or knocked down meaning you are chewing through your energy without any benefit.
Solution: Have Impossible Odds deactivate when stunned, dazed, ect.
4. Our ShadowStep abilities are activating traps and triggering walls. If you use Frigid Blitz, Phase Travel, or Phase Smash they will activate and trap you inside traps or bounce of walls. I don’t remember Thief shadow step ever doing this.
5. Our stability on dodge activates at the conclusion of the dodge and not at the start. When I attempt to dodge out of a DH trap things go really bad even though I should have stability to do it.

Well, first off. You don’t mean that Revenant as a whole is clunky, but rather that very specific interactions are “clunky”.
1. So it just turns off the Facet and it goes on cooldown or something? Doesn’t seem hard to just pop the facet though.
2. I agree and that’s why I hate traits like these.
3. You can deactivate it while stunned, iirc, so this doesn’t really matter.
Regarding (2), Changing Soothing Bastion to activate Infuse Light sounds really useful, but I imagine opponents would complain.
Regarding (3), you can manually turn off Impossible Odds any time you want, even when stunned, but I do agree that it is frustrating.
RE 1: I always have issues trying to deactivate Facet of Nature due to its 1/4s casting time. There is usually so much CC being throw around that it ends up being interrupted and completely locks me out of Impossible Odds.
RE 2: No more so than Warriors going immune I would imagine.
RE 3: I have been in games where I am spamming trying to turn it off and my abilities are constantly being interrupted and a blocked from being activated or de-activated. Druids and Chronomancers usually.
i like these suggestions
Many of the grandmaster traits need to be looked at to be more in line with other classes.
Many of the grandmaster traits need to be looked at to be more in line with other classes.
Provide examples instead of blanket statement. IMO there is only one grandmaster trait that could be looked at in all of the trees. Revenants are more than in line with other classes, if not way better.
Activating the Facet of Nature is bad – you put it on CD. Solution is to run out of energy before you swap to Shiro from Glint, that way your Impossible Odds isn’t locked and Facet of Nature doesn’t go on CD.
Reason for this is that max upkeep can be -10 and Impossible Odds itself is -10, but if it just canceled Facet it would be even better than it already is.
Well…
L2P
None of things you listed are an issue.
I like the 1 and 3 suggestions. They aren’t skill changes, they’re just mechanical changes between the skills that would make both situations less clunky.
Suggestion 2 is complicated, and I don’t like it. Is a whole change, and I believe that there’s risk and reward in activating heal or risking letting the trait proc and overlapping the two. Is more a player skill issue and should stay like this.
The olny thing i wish for is facet of nature instacast. That 1/4 is clunky in combat. The rest is not an issue. Also maybe dont run this cheese shield trait? Double stab is far better
There’s so much more clunkiness to the profession.
The limitation of two Legends under water is annoying to say the least. If it at least would automatically switch to Shiro and Mallyx as you duck under, without it affecting your equipment (e.g., if you are on Herald and have a Shield equipped), it wouldn’t be as bad. Other professions remember different utilities under water. Do I need to mention what a pain it was to level initially, when I had no clue that I was limited to only Shiro and Mallyx, and had gone for Jalis and Ventari? I had no heals under water.
While doing the Personal (Sylvari) story and getting forced to wield Caladbolg, I had no heals either, since that deactivates your profession function skills. Great!
Using Unrelenting Assault on anything near a wall, ledge, stone perhaps, makes it fizzle. It’s infuriating when the enemy keeps running to a wall. Maybe that’s improved AI, I don’t know..
Facets on Herald keeps randomly turning off. For no reason. Even if you are running around with only Facet of Elements on, it suddenly and randomly decides to turn off. Again, annoying. Minor frustration, but still annoying.
It seems like Staff has no tracking at all on Surge of the Mists. I mean, if you let go of your movement keys, press it, then it will charge forwards in the direction you’re facing, irregardless if you have a target or not, not towards your target. Practically every other skill in the game will auto-turn towards your target, so this behaving differently is really awkward. Some may like it, I am used to de-targeting when I wish to use such abilities for movement, in and out of combat.
While it’s a personal preference, am I the only one that finds the glowing circle under a Heralds feet to look really awful and out of place within the game? Not that it’s clunky, but seriously.. there must be a better way of portraying the aspects. It looks terrible.
Edit: Oh, and Mistwarden armor can be used by other professions, hehe. Should have a clause; Requires Profession: Revenant —I’m only half joking. I think it’d be perfectly fine with some profession-only equipment sets. They just need to flesh out the other professions’ pieces to be individual sets as well. Speaking of, in terms of clunkiness, the Mistwarden pieces are Soulbound on Acquire.. talk about awkward if you grab it on your Elementalist or something, not noticing.

Impossible odds is greyed out because it needs all upkeep slots to be free. I think it’s a fair mechanic considering that skill’s power to either consume Facet of Nature or plan so that it is deactivated through use of abilities in Glint stance before you swap.
Also I think it’s fair to require you to keep Impossible odds toggle in mind for when you need to toggle it off. I don’t really like automated gameplay and Impossible odds is already quite automated. But that’s all my opinion.
Regarding #2 I would say that a lot of Revenant traits should have a general review -at some point- because they still have relics from various iterations of the class, such as when weapons were tied to a Legend or when mechanics worked differently (Mallyx) etc. But it works, just… could work more smoothly.

Surge of Mists not having tracking is probably on purpose and I like the way it behaves as it allows you to easily break out of a tough situation without having to detarget.
Agreed on the glowing circle. Too much bling/“look at me” going on for the small limited functionality it brings.

Obv have not played Mallyx, as one their traits is completely bugged and does NOTHING atm. But that is cool with your blanket statements in response.

This is a long kitten thread I wrote back in beta 2 about the gm traits. The only one that’s much better off now is reflexive summon since it a total rework.
Is phase travel supposed to be blocked by dragon hunter traps and walls? I thought it was supposed to be a shadow step teleport.
Same with Phase Smash. I keep getting knocked around if these abilities line over them.
oh and dodging stability doesn’t seem to activate at the start of the dodge … I keep getting CCed mid dodge roll by traps and walls.
