Any good p/p builds for tpvp?
There is none.

Yes, I love playing my Alt+F4 P/P thief build. It wrecks face in tPvP.
Just use it along side Sword/Dagger and it’s fine.
6 crit, 4 acro, 4 trick, lotsa ini traits.

It’s one thing to suggest using the worst thief weapon set in the game with questionable trait choices, but to also suggest abandoning the mandatory Shortbow set is a next level crime.

If you want damage over mobility/evasion, yeah. 4 trick for ini, aoe buffs and ricochet and 4 acro for vigor spam, dodge and ini, critical strikes for more ini, dmg and healing. Best trait setup I’ve found for it. PP isn’t really designed for stealth imo so you use it with evasion sword thief. The only flaw with the set currently is Vital Shot being weak forces it to be more ini dependent than it should be. If they fixed that a lot more trait setups would work. Bodyshot is also still a useless skill~
I usually don’t play p/p but a friend of mine gave me a build yesterday and I completely wrecked face. He plays condi engi and I actually beat him a lot. Keep in mind he has 17k games logged so he isn’t bad lol.
Anyways the build is 62006. Mug, Improvisation, and Panic Strike for the first line. Pistol Mastery for the second. For the third I forgot the first one (it’s the one that gives 3 boons) but the second and third are Bountiful Theft and Slight of Hand.
Use a brezerker amulet and pack runes. Also take shortbow as the alternative. Sigil of Rage and Air for p/p and sigil of fire and geomancy(?) for the shortbow.
Utilities should be Withdraw for heal, Roll for Initiative, Shadows Refuge and I think the third is either infiltrators signet(?) Or shadowstep.
Basically all she has to do is steal, press 3, press 3 again, dodge some attacks, run the other way, press 3 again, roll for initiative, and press 3 moar.
I wouldn’t suggest using the build in like q and she should probably learn the real weapon sets people use for pvp lol.
Oh man. I think ricochet is one of the traits used somewhere. I forgot though lol. I’m not even sure if it is a trait but you can adjust as needed. Idk, another pro teef suggested I put 6 in the first line instead of the second. So I don’t know if ricochet is a trait in critical strikes. If I is then just ignore it because you want pistol mastery. Unless if pistol mastery is the one that gives ricochet then just ignore this last paragraph haha

Those traits sound good Hyde
try this out this is what i run when i feel like running pp.
i use SR well before entering a fight and pop BV as well. Pick a glassy enemy and pop them. vs high dps classes try to interrupt their rotations with the no.4 skill. also utilizing your heal often helps alot with this build bc you replenish precious initiative as well as health. the ricochet trait is super important in this build as well. not only can you keep a bit more distance when fighting but the bounce in 2v2 and 3v3 situations is strong.
just like other thief builds you want to avoid most 1v1 situations but rather stay mobile and force a 2v1 as well as decaps.
hardest classes to fight are condi necro, med guard, ham bow war, and other thieves (mostly dp thieves). most classes with ample stealth pose a threat bc you need a target for your major damage output (pp no. 3) i have had the best luck in 1v1 situations vs rangers, engineers, non dd eles, and mesmers.
this build is no where near any of the meta builds, but if you really plan things out you can deal serious damage.
hope this helps have fun!!!

And this one if I feel It’s possible to sacrifice mobility for DPS concerning team makeup

you are able to keep up with the amount of initiative needed to make a p/p build work with these builds?

yes, why not? ofc I can’t spam unload all the day, but it’s enough. when I go to invis (mostly to clean condi) I reveal with sneak attack. It does not use ini.

This is why I used Critical Strikes in my build~ it’s the most beneficial. You rapid crit with unload and will always get the regain the moment the CD is up and IP is pretty nice sustain naow. I throw Quick Recovery and Assassination Signet on top of it~ since PP sucks defensively and Vital Shot is wimpy, stacking tons of ini gives you the most damage and gives you the ability to drop black powder at same time. You can rotate BP and Unload at a controlled pace to shred away at Warriors and Guards 1v1 especially easily. Taking Quick Recovery also throws in Felice Grace and Vigor spam with Withdraw to make PP’s defense suck even less.
I have seen full zerk P/P (don’t ask me for the build, I don’t know) work pretty well in solo queue. Honestly speaking, the build isn’t very good as you can’t get much glassier, but the lack of coordination in solo q means you’ll do some major work (you probably won’t get focused).
