Change the last refuge trait please
Yea that change would allow burst thieves especially to pull of some crazy turn arounds.
I would like them to simply change it to a blind field or smoke screen dropped at your feet.
Another solution could be a special stealth you get from Last Refuge. A stealth which removes revealed and cant be broken for 0.25-0.4 sec after activation. The time would be too short to pull of a backstab while it would be long enough for your delayed attack to hit without revealing you.
Or just drop the whole ability and exchange it with something else.
No need to fix.PLS just remove it and replace it with something useless but harmless…

I can see it work for builds that don’t rely on combat stealth, just exchange it with a Major Trait.

No matter how you look at it anyone taking Shadow Arts as a trait line is getting enough benefits from stealth that they’re going to want control over when they’re stealthing. If Last Refuge gets reworked into a major trait, it should be in another trait line.
Then I look at the really low 5 trait-points to get Last Refuge as a nice and cheap last refuge for builds not going deep into Shadow Arts (they exist, I am sure). Wouldn’t be as good as a major, I give you that, requiring 10 trait points, so exchanging it for a major is perhaps not a Good Idea after all.
They need to make Cloak and Dagger NOT work while stealthed. Change it to something else.
Its a horribly implemented ability in it’s current form, rather have nothing there at all then that.
Excuse me is this a thief subforum im at ? Couse when u even close to 20 % hp, u should be hitting the road allready and let the refugee get activated by projectile bleed/poison/burn if u have any on u. Its not the another stealth skill, its “oh kitten” panic button.

Excuse me is this a thief subforum im at ? Couse when u even close to 20 % hp, u should be hitting the road allready and let the refugee get activated by projectile bleed/poison/burn if u have any on u. Its not the another stealth skill, its “oh kitten” panic button.
This only shows how ignorant you are about the different Thief builds.
Apart from hit&run backstab build,there are some steady stealth based builds,who doesn’t just run away,when things get hairy,but stay close and fight(with good success,from my perspective).Isn’t the run-away part one of the things that many people complain about the thief?Well,some of us don’t run…And this trait alone,this buff is responsible for 80-90% of my deaths.I could give u many example how it kills me(from sudden big attacks while casting C&D,while chanelling Dagger Storm e.t.c)If i could remove it,i would do it right away….

Because it is such a wise idea to run away with 30% hp without any protection, letting channeled skills hit you or some big spikes to finish you off because a trait limited the way on how you can play.
Getting active in stealth is much better as you can choose a direction to flee at without the enemy knowing. With last refuge the enemy will know the direction you run at and if they use some channeled skills, they will hit you even when last regue kicks in.

^This.When i am in control of my stealths,i don’t die(or at least i die when i was outplayed).When Shadow refuge begins to mess with the equation —->dead thief.
We cannot simply stay and wait when we reach like 40 % to lose 15% more just the stupid trait to decides to proc.

I also would like to see a different effect there, I already had a Lupicus reset happening due to the stealth cause by this trait, not to mention when it activates and you do a normal pistol shot due to button mashing…
For me they could just swap the VI – Cloaked in Shadow for this Minor trait and be done with, it’s a nice (not mandatory) effect and would appeal to anyone investing in such traits.

Well this leaves me with just one conclussion: You all are full of kitten, just play the game as it is, couse its just fine.

Having Last Refuge swapped with a circle AoE of Smoke Screen for 3-4 seconds with the same radius around the player as Black Powder (100?) keeping the same 90-sec CD would be preferable. Not likely it’ll ever change, but it’d be cool.

Easiest solution would be to change the stealth effect into something like protection for 7~10s, considering thieves have no other way of getting the buff themself. The 90s c/d will make it so it’s not unbalanced in any way…and no one can cry about stealth and culling because it wouldn’t be providing stealth.

It is obvious you do not play thief, and if you do, you certainly do not play it competitively enough.
Last refuge, and Instinctual Response are serious issues…especially in PvP. They take the control out of the player’s hand and penalizes them at the most inopportune moments.

Totally agree, this trait should be selectable and not auto assigned when you take the tree!
I like the suggestion of Smoke Screen upon 25% insead of Blinding Powder, but that might be a little too much to ask.
Unlike the current version a smoke screen would definitely benefit thieves who aren’t running away. Though while I can’t complain about the last refuge trait because I find it pretty good for how early it can be gained stuff like channeling abilities totally nullify it.
