As the title says I am a bit confused about what has happened in the patch.

Dancing Dagger 50% damage nerf is really excessive BUT you will now use it how it probably was intended to use…to cripple for 5 seconds, closing the gap.

Tactical Strike got a 10% dmg boost, wooot! But a 0.5 second daze decrease..not too bad.

Cloak and dagger now deals 33% in PvP only(Only in Spvp/Tpvp if I am correct)…LOLOLOLOLOL so no change in WvW there? xD brilliant! Even if it counts for WvW….meh, using it to stealth anyway to get to the imbawtfomg backstab xD

Cluster Bomb 15% less damage, I don’t really get that, probably missed a strategy there.

So…from what I see….

All x/D builds got hurt when you use the offhand, which isn’t really a problem for D/D and S/D but it is for P/D.
Pistols got NO buff apart from faster vulnerability so there will be no increase
(noticable) in pistol builds.
Our already good utilities got a buff….I woke up, looked at patch notes and went HAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA at that xD
The new Shadow Trap is awesome though, really fun to use :P Still prefer Shadowstep, Shadow Refuge and Blinding Powder over the other utilities.

Is this really such a big nerf to our spike damage and compensation with survivabillity in other areas? I don’t think so!

P.S. Please buff pistols so we see cowboys in WvW (on the other hand, when waves of people die to walls of gunslinging thieves, that will be nerfed to kitten aswell, since it’s even harder to counter ranged xD Looking forward to a pistol buff anyway!)

Blinding Powder: This skill’s recharge has been reduced from 60 seconds to 40 seconds.
Smoke Screen: This skill’s height has been increased to help it absorb projectiles.
Shadowstep: This skill is temporarily disabled underwater to keep players from circumventing walls when using it.
Tactical Strike: This skill’s damage has been increased by 10% in all formats. This skill’s daze duration has been reduced from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds in PvP.
Leeching Venoms: This trait now scales based on the thief’s power.
Cluster Shot: This skill’s damage is reduced by 15% in PvP.
Cloak and Dagger: This skill’s damage has been reduced by 33% in PvP only.
Body Shot: This skill now allows players to activate other skills sooner after the ability ends.
Sneak Attack: This skill will now only apply the Revealed buff on the first attack that hits an opponent.
Stab: Damage for this skill has been normalized so that it doesn’t deal less damage from behind the target.
Bountiful Theft: This trait no longer applies aegis at odd times.
Scorpion Wire: This skill’s range has been increased to 1200.
Shadow Trap: This skill no longer shadowsteps the thief when the trap is triggered. This skill now has two additional abilities: The first ability becomes available when Shadow Trap is cast and will destroy the current trap. The second ability, Shadow Pursuit, becomes available when an enemy triggers the trap. The thief may choose to activate this ability and shadowstep to the enemy that triggered the trap. If this ability is not activated after 10 seconds, the ability will fade and Shadow Trap will be available.
Piercing Shot: This skill is now a small projectile combo finisher.
Ink Shot: This skill is now a projectile combo finisher.

funny how the ridiculously OP basilisk→ steal(mug) → c&d → backstab for 20k damage in 3 seconds wasn’t addressed.

Haha yeah! Oh and I forgot to mention….WARRIORS GOT BUFFED YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! Seriously what is up with that, go over to the warrior forum and you still see them crying xD So seriously f-ed up xD

i am just curious about these big warrior buffs.

do you mean the finishers added to the harpoon gun?
or do you mean the 10% bow auto attack damage that noone ever uses anyways?

bow attack + axe responsiveness. The finishers/correct icons aren’t too bad anyway. The fact remains is they recieve more buffs than nerfs while they are already sitting pretty in the damage department. I would have liked to see something against the piercing killshot owning people in a conga line :P

So yeah, warriors did get buffed ^^

i have to admit, this round of changes is a bit of a headscratcher to me too. i expected a bit more of a nerf to the CnD->mug->backstab combo. someone said it should have been 10% to CnD and backstab and 50% to mug, which was about what i was expecting to actually happen. the nerf to cluster bomb, while pretty minimal, was kinda out of left field. especially without speeding up the flight time to compensate. the scorpion wire didn’t really need a range increase, so that’s another one from our of left field. blinding powder’s cooldown seemed fine as it was, so that’s another one from…… you get the picture.

overall, i’m not bummed or happy. i’m too confused to be either.

Instead of writing BS, just read the patch notes:

Fixed a bug that caused many piercing, boomerang, and bouncing projectiles (those that hit more than 1 target) to continually increase in damage the more targets they hit.

Sorry mate! Didn’t see that fix then! I take that back, my point still stands about Warriors able to butcher and not getting a damage decrease :P

@Kita:
Huge durations of stealth? No, only shadow refuge can give 10 seconds of stealh, which is long for certain, but that’s the only long stealth we have. The rest is 3 seconds WHEN traited, otherwise 2…The reason Thieves can stealth so much is because we pick our utility skills to do so. The other utility skills are quivering in the shadow of the usefulness of our buffed utility skills from this patch, they became better than good, which is pretty good :P

@Phantom:
I am only bummed about the 50% damage decrease in Dancing Dagger, but if that’s everything I can easily live without it and use it for its main purpose which is cripple.

Who would use a 4 initiative cripple as a gap closer when swords have a shadow step, and daggers have heartseeker?
