Was just rolling in WvW and i got double back stabbed by thief in same second…this a bug anyone is aware of?

If it was one, then they would not be within a second because of revealed. Backstab > Revealed for 3-4 seconds (I forgot) > stealth > backstab.

Zacchary. there is revealed after a backstab, so let’s not doubt what the OP claims, ok? And sorry Caino, I tried a lot of things but never managed to make a “double backstab”. It might be just a combat log bug? Because if it was possible in any way to achieve it would really cause an uproar I assure you.

If it was the same Thief then it had to have occurred in 3.5 – 4 seconds at the very minimum. If it was two Thieves with the same title then it is easily done.

I am more inclined to believe that it was two Thieves and you just didn’t notice because they were both in stealth (a lack of Cloak and Dagger/Black Powder leads me to believe that they used a utility stealth).

Either that, or it’s a combat log bug as mentioned by Pavel.

the only thing i can think of would be lag causing the skill to double cast before the revealed debuff triggered.

Backstab has a cast time. Is it possible that one can avoid the reveal by starting the cast just at the right time so that you unstealth before hitting?

Yep, you can backstab outside stealth, which doesn’t benefit from hidden killer.

Same thing is seen with backstab>mugged steal
Mug removes stealth which makes backstab not benefit from hidden killer.
In this case, mug applies the reveal effect though.

On this double backstab case, the thief probably had a lagspike right
after casting the first backstab, which made him queue up another backstab.

I’ve experienced similar things from time to time.

Edit: changed the post after seeing Daendur’s confirmation that it applies reveal.

No, it was possible some months ago, but then they fixed the bug.
Now revealed triggers if you hit something and the cast started when stealthed.
So if 0.1 seconds of stealth remains and you cast backstab (0.25s cast time) you will actually hit when you are out of stealth but revealed triggers, while the trait 100% crit chance from stealth doesn’t…. please fix it.

Why?

1 Thief: Stealthskill →Backstab→waiting till the end of revealed→Stealthskill→Backstab

or

2 Thiefs: Both Stealthskill → both Backstab

First you make a Clone of yourself. Then you use Blinding Powder to kill everyone around you twice with the stealthkill trait. Then you and your clone backstab the target.

Server lag (especially in WvW) does strange things. I believe this to be one of them.
