Google is not helping me What is the best WvWvW thief build right now?

Distribute the remaining 20 points however you see fit in the ‘x’ categories (Critical Strikes and Trickery.) For example, you could do 30 Shadow Arts, 20 Acrobatics, 20 Trickery, or 20 Critical Strikes, 30 Shadow Arts, 20 Acrobatics, 10 CS, 30 SA, 20 Acro, 10 Trickery, etc.

Still I was asking for a really good WvW build and no one seems to really know of one. I feel like the thief community kinda died due to the nerf bat over and over.

Try Glass build. D/P: 30/30/0/0/10 or 25/30/0/0/15
Or a build that I have right now. 10/30/20/0/10 (you’ll have the dmg and semi tank together.) All of those are for D/P of course.

No offense, but I wouldn’t help out someone who just wants to “roflwin” and then subtly insult the Thief community for not pointing out a specific “win” build when all of the thief builds demand a different style of lay and has their advantages and weaknesses.

Never said roflwin so not sure why you think this. I asked for the top WvW builds. So next time I would read the posters words before you just jump to silly “facts”.

Also I think you took what I said personally and then took it as I was insulting the thief community, which I am a part of btw. I simply said there is not as much activity as their has been. How you took that as a insult to you is something I will never understand.

It depends on what you will be doing in wvwvw.

a) solo
b) riding with guild or organized grp on VOIP
c) joining the brainless steamrolling zerg

For solo I use 0/20/30/20/0 with D/P +DB.
For organized raid with guild or with friend guilds on VOIP I go with 0/30/10/30/0 with D/P + SB. For better self heals and init regen.

For zerg I can’t help you, I never zerg.

If you’re naturally twitchy with fast reactions go glassier (plenty in crit strikes). If you are used to playing something like a guardian build in 30 shadow arts to provide a skill cushion while you get used to the thief. Play lots of spvp to try out builds.

thief class seems the most hated in wvw, and because of this there were HOW MANY nerfs so far ???

why should we help you ???

just my advice: if you find a good build please keep it for yourself and don’t share with anyone unless you want it to be nerfed

Found this hilarious as well. Nowadays everyone is part of an eSports team…

Maybe use the “guide to thief guides” thread…it has PLENTY of WvW centric builds, search these forums, or go back on Google and look again(trust me: there are plenty of builds out there). Or…you being a hot shot eSports player…why don’t you theory craft a build that works for your own playstyle?

the builds are the same its the player that different.
GC 30/30/0/0/10 or 25/30/0/0/15
simi balanced 10/30/30/0/0 or 0/30/30/10
D/P 0/20/30/20/0
condition 0/0/30/20/20

now its up to you to figure the rest out.

I usually go with 17/13/0/24/16 and it at least works for me

Note all zerker gear. I didn’t put in the trinkets but they are zerker as well.

Key here is you Pop assassins signet → Infiltrator’s Strike (sword #2) → Pistol Whip (#3) → before pistol whip ends steal → pistol whip again. At this point Shadow Return (sword #2 again) Rinse and repeat.

The thing about this build is if you don’t kill the enemy, your probably going to die. If they are in full PVT gear your probably not going to kill them and they will probably kill you. Personally never used it in WvW but its a blast in sPvP. Also I would call this more of a “I win 50% of the time 1v1 if I get the jump on someone” build. Remember you as glass as you can get but you will hit like a truck.

Why is anybody helping this guy? Like buttski stated, if you’re part of a “professional esports group”, you should at least know how to search the internet for a good build without having to ask anybody for one. Failing that, you could always ask your teammates. And neither of these should even be necessary, anyways. I create nearly all of my builds myself, not by asking people for new builds. Sure, I’ll ask people for opinions of my build after I’ve created… But the original idea is still mine, and the critiques are simply suggestions that can be used to change the build. I’ve decided to quite posting my own builds up on these forums, mostly because of the “thieves are so OP” crowds, as well as all the noobs on these forums who honestly have no idea what they’re doing as a thief.

Not only that, but Baze’s comments have been surprisingly rude.

I don’t recall ever being obligated to responding to your question, Baze. If you’re going to start going around our community asking for advice, then please, please do not try to give us the “superiority card”, which is what you seem to be doing here. The entire post seem rather naive, anyhow- do you really believe there to be a top WvW thief “BUild”? The best builds are based on the players, and not on some other arbitrary standard of “best”.

This entire post came across to me as being rather arrogant and rude, as well as overly demanding. I’ll just end with this:

Most likely has something to do with your signature and then requesting a specific build. That’s not really how GW works; you make a build and ask for adivce, or you tell people what you want to do specifically in WvW (as has been pointed out, many different paths of WvW) and perhaps even mention what kind of playstyle you’re going for, and asking for advice from there.

Again, a number of builds have been pointed out, as well as a number of places to find good builds, and as well, why there isn’t anything such as a “#1 build”.

well let’s start over then. what do you wanna do with your thief? gibbing weak targets and then run? roaming? running with the zerg?

there are many factors and there is not THE wuv build. nevertheless i recommend starting out with valk armor, bers acc, bers weapons and with d/d or d/p where d/d is easier to play but you can get more out of d/p.
traits should be x/x/30/x/x (iv and xi are a must imho).

Isn’t this what “pro” e-sports gamers supposed to do themselves? Level up the toon and try out various builds to fit your style or role on your team?
